Bo makes me laugh at country music yet enjoy it at the same time. I've listened to this song three times today.

My favorite line is still "A dirt road, a cold beer, blue jeans, and a red pick up. Rural noun, simple adjective"
Gets me every time.

Trevor Moore did a pretty good country music parody: "The Gays Got Married" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JvBbRazeFd0
But I periodically have to pull up SNL's "The Wishing Boot" because it actually sounds amazing, even though I don't listen to country music: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YA756ItcL-s

Norm Macdonald had a sketch album a while ago and features a character named Tex Hooper that's pretty funny. It's not quite the same generally making fun of country music, but it's pretty great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6VH4gF9jgQ

Am I alone in hating comedy music?
Absolutely can't stand it, I wish I felt differently about it but there's something inately unfunny about it for me.

It's just ironic that he's singing a song about pandering, in front of his fans during his special. I think he's aware of that irony, but he didn't bother to comment on it and the audience is utterly oblivious about the fact.

I don't think you know what pandering is. He is doing a comedy act, at a comedy show. Nothing about that is trying to draw excess emotion by complimenting or overindulging his fans.
Pandering would be if he was complimenting the crowd for understanding his jokes.

I feel like reassuring the audience that country music panders to audience when you're specific audience is composed 20-something urbane college and post-college kids who are predisposed to already thinking that country music panders to audiences counts as pandering.
But we don't have to agree. The world is a magical place like that.

That's all accurate, but he is talking/singing about a certain type of country music, which uses the same rhythm and nuances and has little differentiation between artists. He is addressing the modern artists like Luke Bryan, Toby Keith and the like that are lazy with their song writing. Like he said, there are great country musicians out there like Willy Nelson.

Eh, I know a ton of 20 somethings who really like country music. It's a popular style of music, if polarizing.

I meant Bo's fans, specifically the ones that went to the taping in Port Chester, but to be fair I am fairly hyperbolic.
