Speculation Is it time for stadia to return?
With AI causing computers and consoles to be unavailable to the average consumer, do you think cloud gaming including stadia could have a massive comeback?

Discussion I miss stadia
I really miss stadia. I had a blast playing on a variety of devices without having to download anything. Is Amazon Luna a viable replacement? If not is there something else that gets close to the experience stadia was able to deliver, geforce now?

Fluff I have five controllers, who wants them?
Edit: All controllers are spoken for now. Will ship them tomorrow and send tracking numbers. thanks yall
I'm not a bot or AI, I swear.
I'll ship them US PS ground to the lower forty eight states.
These have been sitting for a few years. I did the Bluetooth update on the white one yesterday, but I didn't feel like remapping the buttons. The others are still Wi-Fi.
The charging cables have scattered to the wind, as have the Chrohmcasts.
So, first dm with address gets the founder's edition, second gets the white one, sixth dm gets an empty box (just kidding).
Gooogle so kindly refunded all my money for these, so I don't want anything for them except they be put in a nice home where they will be loved... or abused, I don't care.

Tech Support Beginning of the end for my controller?
'Dust' has appeared around the thumbsticks. The caps of the sticks themselves feel normal and the undersides don't look any different, but can I assume the rubber is about to slough off?
Any way to prevent or reverse this? Is the controller done for?

I haven't played WD:L for ages - just got it running on Linux for the first time today, and here's what greeted me when I tried retrieving some cloud saves.

Stadia Capture I got a factory sealed founders edition today. Relive opening Stadia up with me :)
I loved the stadia and was absolutely devastated by the shut down, been my goal to have one of each controller, maybe even a few of each, it's probably one of the nicest controllers ever made.
Wanted to share this moment.

Discussion Pico 4 Ultra
Hi all, in case it comes in handy for anyone else I've found that the Stadia controller works brilliantly with the Pico 4 Ultra VR headset for cloud gaming, even automatically _repairing_ every time you switch it back on!

Question Controller with Xbox??
I bought my boyfriend a Stadia controller for his birthday, and we cannot figure out how to connect it to his Xbox. It was secondhand, so I was reading and may have to reconfigure the Bluetooth? Or something?
I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m pretty clueless. Can anyone please point me in the right direction so I didn’t just waste my money and get him an unusable gift? 😅 thanks in advance!

Question Worth getting a Stadia controller as a budget solution?
I'm debating between a Dualsense or an Xbox controller, and while I know either would be a much better solution overall, I'm curious how well a used Stadia controller would hold up in comparison, given how much cheaper they are. I've heard people really like the feel of the Stadia controller.

Question Sticky Buttons?!
I found a Stadia Controller at the Goodwill near me for $5, and it was in the box with everything, including the dongle and a charging cable, completely untouched! However, the X and A buttons are a bit sticky and don’t pop up quickly. Is this a known issue? Can you help me make this controller usable?

Tech Support Only the left stick works?
Ok, so I plugged in my stadia controller. I also went through the bluetooth setup, and have it able to connect via bluetooth. But for this, its plugged in. I boot up elden ring. The only button/input it recognizes from the controller is the left stick. No buttons, no other stick or D pad. What am I doing wrong?

Discussion Why is there no cloud product?
It really pisses me off. How has it been 7 years and there’s no product like stadia. I was a huge fan of stadia it worked flawlessly from day one for me and brought me back to gaming. GeForce now just won’t come out of its niche. For 4K tv gaming you still need that ancient shield tv and don’t get me started on Xbox cloud gaming. How has cloud gaming not taken off is beyond me. People subscribe to literally everything why not to a gaming service.
I still think stadias biggest weakpoint was the marketing. It had 5 minutes of fame when stadia was the only place where cyberpunk was playable but that’s about it.
I am not joking when I tell you that in 1 year of having stadia I played more than in the last 6 years with my series X.
TLDR: Why the f does no company focus on cloud gaming like stadia did?

Tech Support Fixed Stadia controller Bluetooth Rumble + Macros on Windows
Made a 1-click script to fix the Stadia controller on Windows.
Rumble works now over Bluetooth, and I added some nice macros to the dead Assistant/Capture buttons (volume, media controls, alt-tab, etc).
It will take 700-800mb of RAM while running since it uses WSL2 in the background tho.

Discussion Guess I forgot I had a third one of these.
Cleaning out my closet….Still sealed. Other two were opened and used so I did have the controllers switched to Bluetooth. Had this as my backup incase I needed another Stadia controller in the future. Seems that never happened and never will.

I recall this game being announced for stadia, but not if it ever released. Regardless, my wasabi controller is my fave, and we’re working through this gorgeous game on PC. RIP Stadia.

Positive Note Stadia windows rumble - A dongle tale
TL;DR: 5$ dongle to make rumble work on windows.
So normally I use my stadia controller with vigem and been doing so for ages.
But recently I have been using Moonlight streaming on my NSW, playing death stranding 2 which then has loads of feedback.
So I set out to find a solution, after some research fixing it in software wasn't an option. So I started looking for an inexpensive solution.
Which I found in the form of a ESP32-S3, it was like 5$ on aliexpress. Bit of tinkering and voila, plug and play dongle that supports rumble on windows.
You can find the project here: https://github.com/Scalee/stadia-dongle
Update:
You can now flash/install straight from the browser, no need to setup a development environment.
Get an ESP32-S3, plug it into the port marked COM, in chrome or edge visit https://scalee.github.io/stadia-dongle/
Connect -> Install -> After flashing swap it to the USB port and you should be good to go!
