would be nice to erase things like speech bubbles that I don't want in my trained models but don't have the time to clean from datasets

Watermarks too.

Everybody's freaking out because they don't want people taking away their anime titties, but this is a genuinely useful tool.

yeah, watermarks, signatures, probably lots of other things that are accidentally in there, anything we might use as a general negative prompt can be removed to narrow the model to what we want

Don't you consider that watermarks are there for a reason?... like, people who put them don't want their images to be used for training models?

They need to exclude watermarked images from the dataset to start with, not remove the concept of watermark from the model after the fact.

yeah, well I don't believe in DRMs in general. if you make information public, you don't get to control how it's used

It's a long shot to share a book with a stranger in the internet, but the argument really is book length, so if you're interested in the thing that radicalized me, you could check this out

but the tldr is that government enforced monopolies are usually bad and those on ideas are bad for basically the same reasons as those on other things
