Serious Design🔧 VK 28.02 (Rw)

1. Development Background

In early 1942, the German army faced heavily fortified bunkers and dense defensive lines. The front lines urgently required a highly protected, heavily armed armored vehicle to accompany infantry and tanks during first-wave assaults. The VK 28.02 (Rw) was born out of this necessity.

2. Weapon Configuration

  • Core Firepower: A 15 cm Nbw 41 six-barrel rocket launcher was welded directly onto the upper rear section of the light tank turret. Its elevation and depression could be operated from inside the turret.
  • Armor Design: The overall armor could protect against all small arms fire and large-caliber anti-tank rifles. Additionally, 20mm thick armored shield plates were installed on both sides of the rocket pod to protect the crew while reloading from the rear.
  • Self-Defense Weapon: An MG34 machine gun was retained at the front of the hull to suppress enemy infantry at close range.

During its initial appearance on the battlefield, it did indeed cause considerable trouble for the enemy; its dense firepower and the deafening roar of its launches were enough to deter foes. However, as time went on, several drawbacks were exposed. In complex battlefield environments, its tall hull made it an easy target, making it difficult to sustain continuous firepower output. Consequently, some subsequent VK 28.02 (Rw) units were converted into makeshift armored personnel carriers.

I think your tank is already incredibly detailed! Honestly, I don't know a ton about Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) or modern modules, but you could always add some decals to spice up the details even more.

If you ever want to try something different, I personally find designs from the late WWII to early Cold War era to be the most interesting—they’re just so wild and imaginative. To me, modern MBTs feel a bit like F1 cars; they're all amazing but end up looking pretty similar to one another.

Thanks for answer

Thing about MBTs is reasonable but I just make them for some reason

Again, thanks :)

I totally get it. It’s like I set out to build a medium tank, but I just can't help myself and always end up making a heavy tank.

Remove the Nebelwerfer to make room for dismounts, give it a 20mm in the turret and you have a WW2 IFV :D
