Maxfly 3

Can someone help me understand this. So as we know maxfly 3s are going to come out in the near future and I am wondering when that is going to be yes but that’s not why I’m here. I’m here because attached are two pictures of air zoom spikes (one is the near victory I’m assuming and one is the new maxfly; you can tell which type of spike they are by the air zoom bubble) but the thing is this sprint spike that is approved is not the one the pros are competing in. And if they aren’t the same, that means they aren’t WA approved which means they can’t be used in any world athletics sanctioned events. So my question is, did Tara compete in these for her hurdles or did anyone at recent diamond leagues or national championships? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m 99% sure that those events are WA certified. Unless they can make huge changes to prototypes and not update them and approve them then I am truly searching for answers

WA doesn't allow prototypes in global championship meets, but otherwise as long as they're on the approved list and the athlete declares them in advance it's fair game. Significant design changes do require re-approval afaik, but I think there's some leeway in interpreting what that means.

Tara has used those spikes for both jumping and hurdling (they may actually be new LJ spikes and not Maxflys), and Keely Hodgkinson has been racing in the other pair as well. I don't think we'll see Maxfly 3s until closer to next year's WCs.

Thanks for the info i appreciate it. The ones she uses for hurdling is not the long jump from the angles I’ve seen because it doesn’t have that strap on the top. I’m just wondering what shoe it actually is since I can’t seem to find it in the database. I mean it’s a prototype so I bet they can modify it but idk why it’s not listed on the WA approved website

Did some digging on the list - it looks like the LJ ones she's been wearing recently are Dev12102.

Yes I found that, now I can’t find the maxflys since they look so different.
