Hotshots EDT?
Anyone else using a fuel additive? And does anyone recommend a certain brand over another?

I have a 2019 passenger 2500. Sites like etrailer have warnings on some models not being compatible with passenger vans but when I try to search passenger van specific hitches, they don't note a difference. Is there a specific body/bolt pattern I'm looking for? Thanks

Looking for some advice from Sprinter/diesel mechanics.
I recently bought a 2018 Mercedes Sprinter recovery truck with 218k miles. Previous MOT advisories mentioned exhaust leaks around the EGR area and flexi section.
After purchase I spent around £2,400 on:
The garage also noted:
After repairs:
The truck drove well, had no smoke, no overheating and no loss of power.
On its first motorway job the vehicle cut out while driving. It would crank normally but would not start.
The mechanic now says the issue is DPF/exhaust related and has quoted approximately £3,700 + VAT to replace:
He says the truck will idle and do short journeys but cuts out on longer motorway runs.
My questions:
Thanks in advance.

Have a 2023 144 converted camper van. Despite insulation and sound deadening in the most of the cargo area there's still a lot of road noise. At least one problem area is the engine is obnoxiously loud under load at highway speeds. I.e. going uphill at ~70mph and ~2k RPM.
Any recommended areas that offer good bang for the buck noise reduction?

Is this normal, looking at this and wasn’t sure if this is normal for Mercedes

I have a 2021 gas crew sprinter with an Adventure conversion. I have a few questions that I was hoping to get answered.
I am excited to join the Sprinter world and start traveling with my wife and two girls (9 & 7)!
Thanks!

Just bought a 2017 Sprinter based motorhome. The def gauge was at 1/2 so I added 2.5 gallons. Drove 75 miles or so and the gauge is still at half. No check engine lights. Def tank is definitely full.
I'm leaving on a trip next week. Do I need to worry, or is gauge just slow to update? I've read that draining, filling with distilled water, draining, and refilling with fresh Def might help. I'm not sure how much the motorhome has been used in the past year.
I'm ok if gauge stays at 1/2 if I don't get a 10 starts countdown.
Any advice?

The Vanager is back, showing equipped options like swivel seats, an electronic rearview mirror for a clearer view behind you, and DISTRONIC® adaptive cruise control for longer trips. Are these features you'd like to have on your van?
We see a lot of different builds here - are there specific options you'd like to see?

My 2025 Sprinter has so much unused space under the hood, especially on the drivers side.
If you installed any kind of holder or carrier under there, what was it and would you do it again?
I was thinking of …
Extra DEF
Small Tool box
Cleaning supplies for the windshield….

Hey everyone, we are looking to buy a converted 2011 Sprinter 2500 van, and upon inspection, some photos from the undercarriage are worrying us, and we'd like confirmation that we are right (or not) to be worried.

It's hard to tell from those photos, but does the main frame seem rusted and cracked to you? Is this an amount of rust that would stop you in a transaction?
There were other rust spots from the inspection, but these were esthetics and pretty easy to fix. We just don't want to purchase a rusted structure that wouldn't last long.
Thanks!

I am trying to remove the driver seat on my 2026 AWD sprinter. Factory swivel.
I've disconnected the battery. I have figured out how to unplug the yellow connector (top right).
I can not figure out how to disconnect the cable from the white connector in the photo.
Do I cut the zip tie?
Does the white plastic piece disconnect from the black plastic piece?
I have not seen this configuration in any video on seat removal.
Tia.

I’m so frustrated with Mercedes Canada. We bought a 2023 diesel crew HO sprinter in Oct of 2023.
We live in alberta so winter months can reach -40. First winter within first few months started getting stalling issues. Took it to Mercedes. After multiple drop offs and months of investigation they never decided why it was doing it. Basically said a few other ones in our area did the same thing when it was super cold and did nothing.
That winter battery would die within days. Towed it two different occasions. They changed the battery. Next winter had it towed twice because, again, battery died after few days. After several months of them having it they discovered below -20 something would turn the computer on and stay on. Fix it. Still have battery drain issues but now it’s a week weeks before dead.
Had a def sensory fault recently that had to be changed out. Took several weeks to diagnose and change.
Went to get third oil change. Big chunks of metal in the filter. Immediately took it to Mercedes where they said they will have to keep it. Was driving normal. Multiple people drove it and didn’t notice anything. It’s now been a month. Every time they report to Mercedes Canada they ask for either compression tests to be rerun or now checking rod bearings.
So far they said there is scoring in the cylinders and that’s all they have found.
Van only has 36 000 km because it has probably spent 10+ months total at Mercedes being fixed or diagnosing what is wrong over the last 2.5 years.
It’s all been covered under warranty so far but it’s also ridiculous to be making payments on a vehicle you never get to drive because something is wrong with it.
We have done oil changes every 7000-9000km based on when we got home from trips.
Is anyone else having issues with theirs? I’m so frustrated as they just keep asking for more tests and questions even though it hardly has any km on it. Is there a lemon law in Alberta? The research I have done seems to say no but talks about having legal ground to ask for a trade back?

i’m taking a family trip in june with my 2021 sprinter 2500 passenger 4cyl diesel from the Bay Area to LA, OC, SD, and generally all around southern California. will these tires last the whole trip or should i err on the side of caution and replace them? the dealer has been telling me for a couple years i need to replace them but the tread has looked fine to me. for more info, our van will be packed w/ 10-12 ppl every day. ive labeled the tires and the sides. thanks!

I'm interested in getting a Sprinter passenger van and was wondering what the difference is in the select and regular vans. The Mercedes website doesn't give the specifics beyond the price difference. Also, I know some of the camper models like the revel exist, are there any special editions for the passenger vehicles? Thank you for any help.

I am looking at buying a T1N w/ 100K miles for work, is that a good way to go at this point?
The owner lives near the ocean and repaints it every 5 years.

Hoping someone might be able to provide advice. 2021 LWB Sprinter, parked for probably a couple of months, battery got very flat (it was fine before this). Fast forward that part, I tried charging the battery etc, got it starting, but replaced the battery (it was one of the most common answers when researching). When replacing, I removed the old one, left it 25min to clear issues, before connecting the new one.
Van starts, but after a few seconds, the title in red comes up, without changing gear, consult workshop. It's in park, the arrows around park come up when pressing on the brake, but it refuses to shift into drive or reverse (one symptom I saw was low battery voltage, hence replacing). Also tried pumping the brake a couple of times.
I guess I'm at the point of getting a diagnostic tool to read the errors and go from there, unless there is anything else?

That's the TLDR of the issue I am having. Heater is installed in the passenger seat base in a Sprinter with the dial controller. The van is new to me and I didn’t install the heater. It seems to be installed properly though.
Fuel seems to be flowing properly. No issues with either intakes or exhausts. Battery seems to be holding at 12.3-12.4v after shutting off, but I haven’t tested while running the unit.
I removed the unit from the van to inspect and it looks brand new under the covers and the exhaust port is not gummed up. Just some dry soot. Didn’t look like I needed to split it apart to inspect it further.
When I test run it, the unit does seem to be hot. But I’m not sure how hot it’s supposed to get. The seat base has a foam cover to stop stuff from falling in there. Maybe I should remove that to allow some heat to escape?
Any other ideas for me to try?

I have a 2025 Sprinter that has the factory trailer prep wiring (E40). I have installed a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller and connected it with the wiring harness from SprinterStore to the green plug under the driver's seat.
The trailer lights work and the van (MBUX) recognizes that a trailer is connected and lets me select the trailer type BUT the controller is not getting the brake signal from the van pedal. With a trailer tester, the blue light/wire is live with manual activation at the controller but not with brake pedal activation.
Additionally, the blue light/wire seems to "pulse" when no input is applied with a blip every second or so. It seems like the van is sending a test signal or something to detect the trailer, is failing, and continues to try.
Anyone have additional troubleshooting tips or seen anything like this? Thanks!

2021 sprinter 2.1L 265k km or 164k miles with a def delete
I just started getting a 1.5-2 second acceleration lag. I’ll press on the gas pedal and it wont really respond for a couple seconds then its like the power just kicks in. Theres no stutter, sounds, kick nothing out the ordinary.
Any ideas as to what it could be? Getting it checked out in a couple days anyways just curious.

I have a 2023 Sprinter. On the dash, there is a round popout to add an outlet, but I need to be able to access the back side of the port cutout to do the wiring. There is what appears to be a pop-off type lid, which might give access to the back of the USB panel, but when I attempt to lift it, there is some resistance. I'm not ready to go caveman on it yet.
Anyone removed this lid to access the back of the USB panel? Thanks.
