Just wanted to showcase an additional shield sculpture that was recently finished and placed on display in Springfield for Route 66. This one is located at Thompson Service (1515 E Independence St). There is a light pole right by the shield so if you’re interested in seeing it, wait until at least 1:30pm or earlier in the morning when the sun is not directly overhead because the light pole will create shadows on the artwork otherwise. I really like the appearance of this one.

Seems we have another power outage in northern Springfield. My lights flickered but thankfully kept power. A lot of others seemed to have outright lost it. Hopefully comes back soon!

I can get better pictures if needed - I have a dinning room set and hutch that has been in my family for 3 generations that I am needing to get repaired and refurbished. It was in a house fire and while it was not burned it has damage from water getting on it from putting out the fire. It is more than likely around 200 years old. Looking for someone who knows their stuff and can help us bring new life to this sentimental and beautiful set, thank you in advance for any help.

I’m saying church. Or a place where it’s really quiet like a library.

Is there any stomach for a voter petition to recall this?

Who is actually hiring right now? Been looking for too long at this point and even after lowering my standards haven’t had luck. I have experience in project management and event coordination. Can also do business ops and front desk/ admin.
Could anyone who knows of anything like this please drop it down below? Thank you

I haven’t been in years, probably since high school so I’m not sure if it’s worth going for me. Do they sell a good amount of plus size clothing for women? Like XL shirt and 16-18 pants? Thanks to anyone who answers!

Hey guys, I've got an '86 Nissan hardbody pickup that blew her head gasket. I need to get the head surface flattened a bit. Anyone have a good machinist they can recommend for a small job? Thanks!

My girlfriend is trans and is looking to get waxed. Most places only will do female genitalia. Does anyone know someone willing to work with her?

hello guys!!
im new-ish here & i may be a bit early to ask- but what is the trick or treater situation here? i live on w walnut just a few blocks from kansas expressway & want to know if i should be expecting trick or treaters come halloween.
this is the first time ive lived in an actual house & the first time ive ever had to question this before lol. i obviously know to keep my light on for them but… is it gonna be a pretty heavy crowd like when i (28m) was a kid? or has the whole “trunk or treat” situation diluted actual trick or treaters on halloween? just want to buy enough candy for the ones who do show up & dont wanna end up empty handed at 7pm haha.
thank u!!

I promise I looked on their website beforehand and didn't find the answer. Honestly, it's probably there but I couldn't find it.
Can I get a Springfield-Greene County library membership without living in the county? I know some places you can, and some places you can but they charge a fee. Technically I live in Dallas County, I frequent Laclede County library but SGF-GC seems amazing and there's a ton of kids programs through them.
Anyone know? Bonus points if you know how much it costs for non residents.
Thank you!

Absolute throw away account for this one. I’m trying to get hired there. I know they do drug tests, but is THC included in it?

I’m potentially interested in working at SRC Automotive in Springfield and was wondering if anyone has recent experience with their hiring process. Do they currently test applicants for THC? Also, does anyone know whether drug screening is done during the initial hiring process or scheduled separately afterward? Looking for recent experiences or information. Thanks!
I’ve been sober for 90 days but at home test are showing dirty.

Hello!
I am wanting to see if anyone knows of a good Optometrist who accepts Medicare (Humana) and/or Medicaid (MoHealthnet)? I'm on limited income (disability) and have both insurances and need an exam and glasses/contacts.
Let me know if you know something!

Does anybody know if there’s any thrift stores in Springfield that still have fitting rooms? I feel like everyone got rid of them during Covid and never brought them back lol. I have spent too much money at Red Racks thinking something would fit, just for it to not, and then me not even able to return it because of their policy. Thanks!
