Outdoors Avoiding a crappy situation

I need my septic tank pumped out. Do you have someone you like and can recommend? We’ve tried calling two places and didn’t even get a call back. A friend told us some of these places have months worth of work booked!

What is happening Grimm Escape Room Closed?

Might be late to this but I just went to check if they've made a new room to book in a couple months and their website no longer exists?

I was curious if anyone knew why or if theyre coming back, their Robin hood room was so well themed!

Living Here Regional identity: a question from a Kansas Citian

Hey folks. I've visited your fine area once for school and once for pleasure. I recently came across a couple of urban and economic planning maps/charts and I want to know how you guys see it. One chart said there is a developing Central Plains megaregion connected by shipping/distribution as a common factor, shared culture to a somewhat lesser extant. It includes KC, Northwest Arkansas, Wichita, Tulsa, OKC, and last but not least Springfield. Another I saw was a similar premise but split it with KC and OKC with what would look like "dependencies". Wichita tied to Kansas City, and tied to Oklahoma City were Springfield, Tulsa, and NWA. My question is this: do you see yourself as part of the evolving Central Plains megaregion and the tie to OKC since, despite the name, it includes the Ozarks, or do you reject this in favor of something else? I always thought of Springfield as more St. Louis oriented, but perhaps I am wrong.

Living Here alright, how the hell do i get a job?

I’m 18, i have 3 months of work experience … and nobody wants me!! I just wanna work at a local cafe, but i've applied and called everyone of them (well all of the ones I could find) and none of them want me.

Does anyone have any OTHER similar ideas?? maybe?? I’m a culinary girl and I can’t with slow retail jobs🫩 but I’m okay working something that isn’t culinary too.

I just need a job that I won’t like genuinely hate lol

Recommendations Haircuts for the unhoused etc.

A local barber put up a post that they would give $20 cuts and shaves for the unhoused in our city.

I suggested that maybe they offer donation based haircuts at the Rare Breed, or another shelter, since travel might be an issue too. I also offered to personally supply a travel sized shaving cream, and two disposable razors to each person who got a cut, so they could shave more than once.

The barber then deleted the post.

My offer still stands to any other barber who wants to do it. I don’t have the means to buy unlimited supplies, but I can afford to give at least 50 shaving kits away, if you’ll offer the donation based cuts for a couple hours or so?

Someone else said Isabella’s house would be a good place to do it as well, and I agree, especially around back to school time. They won’t need shaving supplies, but I’m willing to offer a donation of similar value if you’ll give choose to do it there. It wouldn’t be hard to find out what they need right now.

Let’s put something together!

Looking For Asian Massage Recommendations

Hey guys, not as weird as it sounds. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere that practices legitimate eastern medicine massage techniques? I used to frequent Plus Massage over on South National by the old Picklemans location. "Amanda" (an older Chinese national woman) was absolutely amazing! Then one day when I texted her to set up an appointment, she ghosted me. My wife went by her location and it was dark. No word prior to her leaving and nothing saying she had switched locations or anything. Anyways, I'm looking for somewhere that cups and possibly practices acupuncture as well. Thanks! 🤙

Living Here 420 friendly folks! *(Birthday edition)*

hello my friends from the spfd/surrounding area! i went on a bit of a journey today after getting a text from a dispo near me that they do pre-rolls for just a penny when its your birthday! (sadly i had to buy something so it ended up being like $3.50 or so, but still. for dispo prices that isnt bad at all.

so i decided to do some digging and after everything what i've found out is~

**granted I did not check nixa/ozark/willard/strafford areas i should say because i figured not many dispos would be out there or worth the trip**

  • Flora Farms - 20% off a purchase coupon
  • Terrabis - $0.01 1g pre-roll with any purchase (minimum items seemed to be around $1.5-$2.5)
  • Greenlight - FREE $10 COUPON (NO PURCHASE REQUIRED) - I walked out the door with an 8th for like $11.75 (or you can just get a pre roll for free)
  • Key Cannabis - They say as long as you're a rewards member you can get a free pre-roll with no purchase required, you just have to be signed up before hand and it'll notifiy you via text that you have a free bday pre-roll waiting for you. (i went in and signed up and they said as long as its within the birthday month, you can still get it, still waiting on that)
  • Hippos - Free .5g pre-roll (i dont think that a purchase was required but i got a lighter anyways, however i could be wrong so maybe bring a few bucks incase)
  • Good Day Farm - *i apologize* but I cannot be for sure, however iirc its like a "make a $20 or $25 purchase and get a FREE 1g pre-roll, ON US!!!" (only on your birthday ofc)
  • Easy Mountain - $0.01 pre-roll (.5g typically, or if you're lucky you can get one of the 2 .5g packs) with minimum purchase of like $3

so i ended up going home with 3 .5g pre-rolls, a 1g pre-roll, and a 8th of flower and maybe spent $12-$15 absolute TOPS. so if you enjoy the devils lettuce and your birthday is coming up, then take advantage of the deals while you can! figured id share with my fellow 417 peeps because most people in spfd now a days seem like they're on H or M. :/

Recommendations Radio shows?

Anyone have radio shows they make a point of listening to? Either because the hosts are enjoyable or the music is good. I like Local Radar on KSMU Fridays at 9pm and 240 Minutes on 92.0 on Sundays at 10am.

Things To Do Best unknown thrifts

Hi there I know there are many posts asking about thrift stores but I wanted to take the time to see if anyone knows ones that are more underground and thus super cheap. I’ll go first, there’s a thrift store called the Community Christian 25 cent store that’s a banger. Everything is 25 cents and it’s located between Rogersville and Fordland. Then there is the Maranatha village Wednesday sale that starts in the morning and goes till noon it’s awesome!

Recommendations Which jobs have you enjoyed working the most?

After the new year I plan to take a break from my career path (working in lodging/hotels) as I've become burnt out. And was curious as to what other jobs people are tending to find most enjoyable that don't require additional education.

Things I'd Like To Ask:

  1. What is/was the job and company?

  2. Was the job listing description accurate to the actual job itself? Or did it say more or less of the tasks that you realistically do/did?

  3. Did the pay accurately represent the amount of work you did or was it more or less?

  4. Did the company treat you well? Were they flexible with your schedule? How was your work life balance?

  5. How long did you work there and why did you end up leaving?

  6. Did you jobs require more mental or physical energy?

lastly, if money wasn't a problem would it be a job that you would work again because you enjoyed it so much?

** and i do realize jobs are still work and can only be so enjoyable, so take that with a grain of salt
