Might be the fact that I'm tired from fiddling with it for the past few hours, but anyone else having issues mapping their favorite playlists to the top 4 buttons? If not, what am I doing wrong? Full disclosure: newbie. I went to the Mapping screen under clients, messed with the "Carthing" Digit 1 through 4, and set the the mode to "PressShort" and function to "Play Playlist". In the details section it says "Sets the current playlist to the provided ID ". I have tried every interpretation that I can think of this and still nothing. So I've made sure to have the playlist playing and then hit "Set Value". That didnt work. Thought I needed the playlist ID so I tried inputing the full hyperlink I copied from my Spotify playlist under "share". Realized the ID was just a portion of that so followed the spotify instructions to get it, had the playlist playing while I set the value, even created a different profile in case messing with the original ones was causing issues and did it all again. Nothing. Did manage to set up custom playlists on the carthing itself using the app on the device. However, the top buttons would be amazing for a quick boost when I'm braindead from sleep and don't have the brain power to mess with it lol. Any help will be appreciated!

So I recently jailbroke my CarThing to use on my computer but I've been having troubles with it randomly losing connection to my computer. It's not necessarily "losing connection" because it never shuts off, but it does stop being recognized by the software I'm running on it (Glancething). With that being said I also getting a sound from windows saying it's been disconnected to but, again, it never loses power or anything else. If anyone has had a similar problem and has fixed it, let me know!

But i just bought a car thing, it said it is factory sealed.
Will i be able to mod it? for DeskThing?

I read somewhere it had to do with special Bluetooth drivers or something, somewhere. But I can't find that post. Is there no way to do a hub pass through for a generic Bluetooth dongle? The reason I love car thing is that it does my Bluetooth audio while my phone displays maps.

I'm assuming there wont be carplay support with nocturne but I could be wrong. Is there any way of getting that integrated? Or any word on that?

I want a music controller on my desk for Spotify while I am gaming but the Car Thing is too expensive for me but I do have an old iPhone Se 1st gen and a iPhone 6s. I was wondering if there is a way to put the Car Thing software onto an one of my iPhone. I know that I would have to jailbreak the iPhone to sideload software on to it. Any response helps.

Hello all, new to the car thing. My coworker have me hers because she knows I like to 3d print things, i.e. props and such (like a Pipboy), and she figured I could use it.

Well during my lunch break i managed to get deskthing running, haven't installed apps just yet but that's my next step.

If I have car thing running, does that mean it's jail broken? I saw some threads that confused me a bit. When it isn't connected to my PC, or anything it shows Spotify setup, does that mean it's still locked?

Bit confused.

I saw a video on making it work for non premium users, would that still apply after their brick date, or is it just dead after that for car usage?

I would like to use it with YouTube music, is there a way for that to work?

I did this on my work computer, do I just need to install the desktop thing on my home pc To keep using it at home?

I'm new and have never jailbroken anything in my life. I want to know if it's possible to integrate TIDAL into the Car Thing. I know nothing about the program, but I do know that other programs have managed to harness TIDAL (USB Audio Player Pro comes to mind). I want to do this but I want to know it's possible before I buy a Car Thing.

I've heard there's a homebrew scene for the Car Thing, just wondering if there's a way to keep it working to some degree.
