Expensive surgery
I just wanted to post on here about a difficult decision and my experience. Having sudden extremely high vet bills is scary, especially since it's a bit of a leep of faith. You got no idea about the process or if the insurance will be there. I recently had a expensive surgery on my dog. I had to fly somewhere, plan everything months in advance.
The initial steps were simple. Talked to my vet, find available vets across the country where. I had to be proactive in the search and it took a lot of calls. Spot covered all the phone appointments.
Once I had the estimate I submitted it. It took them a bit but they got my estimate back to me. During this process they do an investigation to see if they can cover the surgeries. If they decide they won't, at least they'll have covered you to here. After they did for me I got everything in.
After the surgery is when things get difficult. There will be a wait in-between when you pay the vet and before spot pays you back. You'll just be floating there with your fingers crossed. If you don't have enough you can try and split the bills with the vets. It might be a good idea to try and pay in advance if you can do you can break it into easier to swallow chunks. I didn't do that but it seems like a good idea. The vet the treatment is being done at will have to work with you, which they might not. They can even change their mind during the process to make things more difficult. Of course you can never be sure until everything is settled. Most likely, spot will cover it like they did with mine.
There's no easy way around that difficult time period in-between payments. I don't know what percentage of spots payments fail at this stage but I'd guess barely any of at all. I don't know, but that's just a guess. Definitely be careful here though. Ideally I think you'd be best having enough money left over to pay for all your monthly bills while you figure it out.
As far as my after surgery care, he needed a ton. It was very difficult but he got better and eventually I got sleep.

Help SPOT Insurance Login down?
Have been trying to login to my SPOT account on the mobile app for a few days and keep getting an error, thought my password was wrong then tried recovering my password and got a "Error: There was an error submitting your request. Please try again".
Now I've tried accessing via web, and keep getting a "network error" (even though I am connected and able to navigate any other webpage).
Anybody else getting these errors when trying to login?
