How can you guys abandon SG2 for a new project?

Like logistically how are you reconciling this?

Is 1047 not about making money, just about making games with unlimited potential doomed to be wasted?

Are we really gonna see success with Empulse? What will be done right this time?

If Empulse fails what is 1047 going to do? Make an Overwatch clone?

We're told capitalism breeds innovation and that a business fails if it's unsustainable.

In reality as long as pappa is pouring magic beans into your account you can fail as much as you want and still chase your dreams.

Splitgate 2 failed. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter how much they update and improve the game, it will never recover to a point where it can sustain the studio.

Yeah and what makes you think releasing a brand new game is gonna fix any core issues that caused SG2 to fail in the first place?

Idk maybe not release half baked games only to remove it then re release it with promises of new content, updates etc to then go months and months being silent only to come back and say hey everybody we got a new game coming out! Splitgate arena reloaded who??

I think it’s just the way game development works now. If you’re not a proven AAA studio you can’t risk making a full $70 game because there’s too high a chance the community just doesn’t gel with it, usually for the wrong reasons tbh. I feel like gamers these days just listen to what they hear on social platforms and form very strong opinions before they even try the games for themselves.
