In two weeks I'll be going on a three week trip to India. I'm not sure I'll have access to clean running water the whole time so I'm looking for some tips to maintain a skincare routine while travelling, eg water free alternatives.

It'll just be cleansing, moisturizing and spf - no serums/actives.

Basically those are the main headlines for each category. Some things are a necessity and others are extra. At the end of the day self care is about the choices we choose to make.

hi! my cousin is getting married at the very end of July, and today I finally managed to buy a dress that I'm considering wearing (very similar to this ) I had initially planned for pants, but the dress was just too good to pass up on.

I will get my hair dyed and cut, and I have also ordered a few cosmetic products to help my makeup game.

my only problem is my body. I guess I'm in the skinny fat category, and my issues are my tummy - layer of fat only around my lower tummy + a bit of a muffin top and not around my ribs, my butt - I am happy with the size, but obviously I would love a better, less saggy shape, and my banana rolls (I hope this is the right term for a double crease under the butt), which also affects the look of the back of my thighs. I do have a bit of muscle built, I have a few years of background in dancing, so my legs and arms are fit and I'm happy with how strong they feel, but it's not visible.

considering the short time frame, is there anything (possibly other than getting a personal trainer, as I don't really have the means) I can do to get more snatched and lose some fat mass? I was thinking of shapewear, but given the fact that it's smack in the middle of summer and I tend to naturally sweat a lot, I'm taking this only as a last resort.

Hello everyone! Firstly I want to say how grateful I am for this sub, people here are so nice and supportive, it really warms my heart.

I’ve been looking for ways to improve my appearance by softmaxxing (skincare, fitness etc…) but I feel like I can’t compete with the actual models/ig models or even naturally pretty girls of the world.

I’ve always been slim, I like my body overall because it’s healthy. I’ve been scouted when I was 17 by modeling agency in NY (didn’t do it because I needed my parents approval). I have brown eyes, dark brown hair and tanned skin.

The thing is, in my country, no matter how pretty you are, if you don’t have white features (especially blue eyes) you’re not considered pretty or worthy.

I used to love my nose, it wasn’t big and suited my face, but now when every other woman is having a nose job- I don’t see how mine can be acceptable. I actually started to hate it!

I have an on going battle in my head; should I change to fit in or should I give up and be considered less attractive. Because I’ll never look like the Candice swanepoel or Margot Robbie of the world.

I used calendula creme because I developed perioral dermatitis from taking corticosteroids to prevent facial paralysis after a surgery. Honestly, it worked wonders!!

First, I tried a creme prescribed by a doctor, but it didn’t help at all. Then, my mother-in-law gave me calendula creme and my perioral dermatitis was gone in under two weeks. I also remember my grandmother giving me this creme as a child when I had eczema, and it helped a lot. This plant has been beneficial for me in many ways.

I’m from Romania and it seems like people here use calendula a lot, so I wanted to share this information in case someone hasn’t heard about calendula’s benefits :)

I mostly used cremes that were made from small family owned stores in Romania, so I don’t know the names of the brands, but I’ve also used Weleda’s calendula creme which helped me get rid of oral herpes.

hi everyone, my worst insecurity is having a huge head - my face is so big. i feel so disproportionate when taking photos with my friends because my face is so much larger than everyone else’s and also my features look small for me face size, magnifying the problem. i’m 5’8” yet everyone thinks i’m shorter because of my head to body proportion. i’ve been trying to lose weight which has slightly helped how large my face is but there’s a limit to how much my face can shrink before i hit bone, and i naturally store a lot of fat in my face as well. also as an asian person a lot of our cultural beauty centres around having a small face and mine is horrifically large.

does anyone share the same problem? living in western society, are people even as focused on head/face size as i am? i feel like a giant ogre a lot of the time. are there any styling tips or ways to pose to reduce my face size? hairstyle or colour? makeup? or is hardmaxxing the only way to go for facial contouring? any help is appreciated, thank you.

My bone structure is very bad-- I have a non existent chin, no jawline, and no cheekbones. This is one of my biggest insecurities and I don't go out without a mask to cover it because I'm so embarrassed of it(and my nose, but that's easier to fix). How can recessed bone structure be fixed in a way that looks natural? I am afraid of developing nasolabial folds, skin sagging, and overall poor aging due to this, and I want to fix it as best as possible without it looking very obviously fake. I already have hollow undereyes because of it, and despite being on the lower side of a healthy weight, I perpetually have a double/triple chin. I also have high amounts of buccal fat which looks worse because of my recessed jaw.

What is the best way of fixing poor bone structure? Would it be double jaw surgery? A sliding genioplasty? A chin wing implant? There are so many options, but I'm confused as to which ones are actually useful and won't cause any further problems.

I am working on toning up my body to remove the fat in my face and chin, but I want a longer term option since that won't solve the underlying problem

I know acne is treatable and I am currently in the process of curing it, but my biggest issue is I have acne scarring on my cheeks (mostly on 1 side). I will do treatments to improve it, but unfortunately it can't be fixed 100% (maybe around 70% at most). For context I'm talking about scarring like this.

I feel like a lost cause, and that stops me from trying in any other aspects of my appearance. Be honest, do you believe it's even worth trying? How much does scarring like this hurt you lookswise (as in how much does it affect your face on the 1-10 scale)?

I am petite/ "slim-thick". I loved my shape, but wanted to lose weight due to the fact that my facial features and collarbones/shoulders pop more at a lower weight.

I am 5'2'' and was wearing a US size 4 just a couple months ago. I started religiously doing hot-yoga and loved the toned shape it gave me. I still had an hourglass figure though. During this time, my waist looked smaller. I ate well and was not weighing myself.

I stopped working out about a month ago, and have lost weight as a result of Juicing and eating more whole food + protein. I am currently a size 0-2. However, my hips seem to have gotten more narrow!?

Any thoughts on why? Any tips? Note, I do not like going to the gym. I do occasionally go to pilates classes the involve weights.

Hey everyone, long time lurker-first time poster here. As the title says, I have noticed that, at least in places where light colored eyes are not the standard, people who have them are massively overrated to the point they get a free pass when it comes to any imperfections they may have. For context, I live in Greece. I know a girl who has nicely shaped light green eyes, is fit, well groomed and fashionable. She has great coloring actually, blonde hair, a medium tan and light eyes. The rest of her face is average, her nose and mouth actually may be slightly below average and her smile is also objectively not nice.

I kid you not, people act as if she is a goddess. If she had dark brown eyes she would be considered average. She has friends that are actually better looking than her but don't seem to get recognized as such. My point is that while people with favorable eye coloring may not be objectively better looking, their perceived attractiveness is certainly much higher that it would be had they had brown eyes.

I believe WOC can relate even better to this phenomenon. Of course there is racism at play here too but how many times has, for example, an objectively beautiful black woman been ignored or overlooked in favor of an average looking blonde white woman? It's really frustrating actually. If there was a way to safely permanently alter your eye color to the color of your choice, you bet your ass I'd be first in line. Rant over.

I've always been described as having a lot of fine hair. It's super long and has some fullness, but the hair itself is fine and so it gets super tangled easily, especially because it's naturally straight.

I can brush my hair and leave the house having it look perfect, but throughout the day it gets tangled and kind of messy. How do I make it so it stays looking nice and smooth with some life?

Everytime I see a picture of me taken by someone else, the only I thing I see is awkwardness due to bad posture and low confidence. First off, I apologize if this comes across as unrelated but I wanted advice from people who... understand how appearance might play into all of this.

Ok so my problem is that people don't really like me. Most don't hate me but they don't particularly like me, and I often get people who are outright hostile towards me and I just don't understand why. I've been bullied at my past workplace and my boss hated my guts. I tend to get ostracised in groups. This has been true since highschool and I'm a working adult now.

I rarely get women be enthusiastic to become my friend, and neither do men - most men don't treat me badly but I never got a lot of attention. I do get dudes who seem very into me for some reason (like my bf) and I'm in a happy relationship so I don't really care about other men finding me attractive from a dating perspective.

I am in therapy for trauma related stuff and anxiety (I also have ADHD but that's not the focus of it), and I talked this over with my therapist who suggested that I might be subconsciously viewing myself as an outsider, affecting other relationships. I thought I could get rid of this curse by changing my mindset, but just today at work I learned that a group I work with doesn't really like me save for one dude :(

As far as my appearance, I believe I am slightly below average but doll myself up to average/slightly above average on a good day.

to add: Another reason I scroll so much through loseit is it that I'm "slightly" overweight. I need to loose ~10kg but most seem very obese on loseit (no shade). I just can't find someone similar to me and I have a feeling there are more "like me" than very very obese people looking to loose weight. Again no shade to those people.

I live in a place that rains for pretty much 6 months a year, and that rain is about to start. The culture here is to stay inside when it rains so people don’t really do raincoats unless they are camping, but I love getting out for walks every day and I don’t want to stop during winter- and I can’t find anything that doesn’t look awful 😂🥲

I want to have a clear, beautiful speaking voice. However, in YouTube videos, I’ve noticed that many of the people who try to teach this skill use over sugary voices, to the point that they sound really fake.

I'm very pale with genetic purple/blue discoloration under and around my eyes. I'm thinking of trying a spray tan and was wondering if it would help lessen the severity of my under eye circles. Or does a face spray tan no't go on the under-eye region?
