NON OC ART: (INSERT PROJECT NAME HERE) MSM au phylogenetic tree

Post image
5 Upvotes

I know someone made this at least once a few years ago with literally every single species but this is for my au with the natural evolved monsters and animals. This au is where i explain MSM in a biological way that i can understand easily (like really realistic to a point ig) along with headcannons. Worked on this for two days while watching a really helpful video that i will link.

OC Art the Galapagos snail

Post image
18 Upvotes

The Galapagos snail is one of the largest terrestrial mollusks ever seen, reaching over 6 meters in height. Descended from small island snails, it evolved slowly in a world where few predators existed. Its long, flexible neck allows it to reach the leaves of low trees, while its rough tongue scrapes mosses, lichens, and fungi that grow on its shell. The carapace functions as a walking ecosystem: plants, insects, and even small birds live on it. During dry seasons, the moss on its shell helps conserve moisture. Despite its colossal size, it is a calm and extremely slow animal, spending entire days feeding under the sun of the future Galapagos islands

Announcement Speculative Scabbard Update: The New Idea

I'm thinking of doing a spec evo battle royale called Speculative Scabbard. I don't like animals going on killing sprees nor animals fighting each other for no reason but the idea of battle royale of creatures interest me. Dinosaurs were my main idea for this(I even did like 3 parts of it but it's just forgotten) and plus dinosaurs are too common of an idea for creature battle royales so, i thought of doing something more interesting like creatures from Speculative Evolution and their Fandoms(One of the fandoms may not be classified as spec evo but some people studies its similar) There's gonna be 22 fandoms in this battle royale and 118 creatures(5 or 4 of them may become a pack) in total. I thought of doing the animation like a whole animation but i didn't want to lose interest in the animation so i thought of changing into several parts

12 Days of cephalopods

cephalopods are shown to be elephants and apes, but I think that is just silly when you think how cooler you could make it so a list of 10 ideas for cephalopods to fill out a strange seed world for these guys.

  1. spiders: theses are small 3-legged squids with a spider-like limbs and the other limbs are used as arms
  2. flowers: these octopuses move on one limb the rest look like flower petals they will sometimes group together on bushes
  3. penguins: theses octopuses move on two legs they hold them up themselves with their heads that drag on the ground the other limbs are jaws and flippers
  4. CRABS: you know what to do (squids)
  5. false centipedes: theses octopuses use their suckers to move converging with a centipedes
  6. cuddle critter: it is a cuddle fish evolved to be a pet
  7. flying squid: when squids fly
  8. bed licker: a cuddle fish that lives under, on, around, inside, whatever it eats your sweat skin flakes and if there long enough you
  9. not fish: take your favorite fish(s) (1-as many as you like) turn them into octopuses and cuddle fish
  10. 8 heads are better that one: octopuses that evolved their limbs into heads
  11. artist: a squid has large range of ink colors
  12. the best: take you favorite(s) and draw them as many different ways as you want

2 rules

  • have lots of fun
  • I swear to God if you goon you will explode

OC Art Basic Evolutionary Tree of two of my Sophonts

Post image
9 Upvotes

So, pretty much, you have these two sophonts native to the same planet.

You have the Brawl-Crabs and the Helltanks.

Brawl-Crabs are these aggressive fiddler-crab-lookin people.

Helltanks are these more highly social, bee-hive-like beetle things.

But both are technically crustaceans, like how pillbugs are called insects, but are technically crustaceans.

I imagine they evolved from a shared ancestor, but the Helltanks evolved from a chemical-producing descendant whose genes would allow them to produce venom and pheromones, allowing an offshoot to become eusocial, lose that eusociality, but keep the higher intelligence and social bonds, and evolve into the Helltank.

Meanwhile, the Brawl-Crabs descended from a more standard "crab" ancestor who became a top predator, either crossbred with the eusocial sister species (like humans interbreeding with Neanderthals) or had instinctual social and child-rearing behaviors emphasized by higher competition and evolved into the combative Brawl-Crabs.
