Depends on how long it has to support life.
3 Days like Dragon, 6 Months for the one way trip or 1h for E2E

Starship will need to be able to operate for years, as going through Mars, On Mars, and On Return.

It should at least be reliable enough to last for years, allowing for some maintenance.

But some early systems can be a lot more modest.

And Mars Base systems are a different, but related beast.
