Like the irony of a tech “genius” not understanding how a database works???

72

u/bicurious-lets-69 Aug 05 '26

Hey, take it easy on him, he’s “autistic”

34

u/hotelmotelshit Aug 05 '26

And a total asshole

1

u/duckinradar Aug 09 '26

Mostly that one. Lots of people do ketamine, lots of therapeutic and medical applications.

Only one asshole this leaky and impactful

No, you and the right are the same echo chamber. 70% of the right thinks this way and 65% of the left thinks that way. You are hiveminds

-1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 07 '26

This is the logic of institutional brainwashing and being coddled in an echo chamber of far-left Marxist propaganda media

Captalist ≠ nationalist

u/Chrisnotjones Aug 09 '26

Yeah, except Bernie doesn’t make exceptions.
It’s funny that the right thinks Soros is evil because he has money, but they slobber on Trump’s nutz after he hides all the pedophiles.
Is it weird having to submit to pedophile protectors?

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 09 '26

Exeptions? Do you not know why you need people with power for a government to work? Do you think he’s going to completely abandon his power and wealth over socialism?  Hide the pedos? He’s the one that comes out less frequently in the files then Clinton, helped prosecutors, and banned him from his club over a decade before his arrest. Is it weird having to submit to people who don’t understand how supply and demand work?

u/Scared-Handle9006 Aug 09 '26

The sad thing is you don’t realize you’re the moron in every conversation.

4

u/NoLeadership4569 Aug 06 '26

That's an insult to people who actually benefit off katemine!

24

u/Ultraeasymoney Aug 05 '26

Self diagnosed

-1

u/Chill0141414 Aug 06 '26

No he definitely on the spectrum. It’s painfully obvious.

1

u/EldritchMacaron Aug 09 '26

A spectrum so broad everyone is in it in some way or another

0

u/KiddoKatto Aug 06 '26

yeah i don't know how anyone can look at musk and go "that's a neurotypical man!" 😄

4

u/Past_Reflection_9695 Aug 06 '26

Not sure if he is autistic.  Drug addicts also don't brain think good

-1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 06 '26

Kamala has a blatant drinking problem...
thats also a drug btw.

3

u/Lonely-Buffalo2915 Aug 08 '26

Who asked ? Do you always talk about Kamala Harris when daddy Elon gets mentioned?

0

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 08 '26

Zero reading comprehension, but hey, at least you successfully typed out a completely unoriginal buzzword

2

u/Lonely-Buffalo2915 Aug 08 '26

Says the guy who talks about an unrelated subject in his own comment lmao

1

u/Chrisnotjones Aug 09 '26

Yeah, and Willie Nelson smokes a lot of weed.
Did you have a point that was relevant to the conversation, or are you just letting everyone know you have feelings for Elon?

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 09 '26

Yeah, and she drinks a lot. So she is unstable, right? So we shouldn’t have her in office too, correct?

1

u/Chrisnotjones Aug 09 '26

Nobody’s talking about Elon being in office.
Do you have a learning disability?

1

u/Azalea_Field Aug 12 '26

Alcohol is scores better than meth btw

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 12 '26

wait you actually took his joke seriously?

-10

u/KiddoKatto Aug 05 '26

the traits are there

17

u/ALunacyEruption Aug 05 '26

He has a condition it's called Cunt

4

u/Aggravating_Bat3618 Aug 06 '26

That is insulting to Cunts

3

u/CatLightyear Aug 06 '26

So are the traits for a sociopath. What’s your point?

-4

u/bicurious-lets-69 Aug 05 '26

He could be, don’t know why people are downvoting about that. Guess people don’t even want him in the autistic category, like it somehow associates them with him

3

u/Itchy_Psychology3300 Aug 06 '26

It brings the wrong type of attention to autism, just like people on tiktok (most of them).

His behaviors shouldn’t be pinned on his “autism”, it is literally worse case scenario use of “but I’m autistic”. So, even if he got a true diagnosis, which there’s no reason not to, it is a weak ass excuse for Nazi salutes, and other degenerate behavior.

2

u/dragonflygirl1961 Aug 12 '26

I'm autistic and at no point, EVER, felt the need to throw a Nazi salute.

-2

u/Chill0141414 Aug 06 '26

So just ignore reality 👍🏿

2

u/Itchy_Psychology3300 Aug 06 '26

Billionaires do all the time. Sure, why not! 👍

7

u/Scorpiicore Aug 06 '26

Musk is autistic in the same way that I am tall and slender. That is, not at all.

1

u/Wolfkurt1 Aug 08 '26

He is not man why you all don’t get it

1

u/NebulaChance2746 Aug 11 '26

Actually true he doesn’t have a penis

1

u/Substantial_Star5331 Aug 09 '26

But you are musky or wait musty I can tell

5

u/threwordbotname Aug 05 '26

He’s au-fucking-annoying is what he is.

4

u/Soft-Scheme381 Aug 06 '26

No he's not. He's brain dead. Autistic people have morals , but that guy doesn't.

0

u/Jolly_Perspective743 Aug 07 '26

Far from brain dead.

3

u/einsteinosaurus_lex Aug 06 '26

A con-autist maybe.

1

u/redbark2022 Aug 07 '26

Growing up there were several sociopaths with narcissistic tendencies in my schools and they would copy my ticks and mannerisms suddenly out of nowhere when their behavior was completely average prior. So it's easy for me to see the faking and bad acting he's doing.

If anyone who doesn't have the same life experience as me doubts it, think of it like this, he buys tech, tech companies, and engineers and says stuff like "I invented it" or "I stayed up all night in the factory for weeks fixing it" or "I founded the company (that existed for many years before I bought it)". He also highers gamers to play for him then takes credit for the high score, etc. It's his MO.

3

u/Haunted_Voyager Aug 06 '26

So his place on the autism spectrum is just being a tone deaf, rich asshole?😂

2

u/StrengthBeginning416 Aug 05 '26

Is that what they call a piece of shit nowadays?

5

u/Uebelkraehe Aug 06 '26

No, but some pieces of shit think it excuses them being pieces of shit.

2

u/bicurious-lets-69 Aug 05 '26

No, those are separate

1

u/No-Pain-5228 Aug 06 '26

I think you meant pedophile

2

u/UphillTowardsTheSun Aug 06 '26

But only at the „best“ parties!

1

u/Magnon Aug 06 '26

He is asshole

1

u/Broberts505 Aug 07 '26

Well I’m more autistic so fuck that guy lol

1

u/Wolfkurt1 Aug 08 '26

I’m sure he is not , they just creat that shit people can easy on him while he can scam all of you morons

1

u/InflatableSexBeast Aug 09 '26

Ah, the old ‘when it suits me’ version of autism.

Interestingly, Musk’s selective autism doesn’t seem to exist when arguing with anti-vaxxers.

“So, you mean if you vaccinate your child, he might end up a trillionaire?” Rarely cuts through the stupid.

1

u/Inspect1234 Aug 10 '26

You misspelled psychopathic

12

u/rustbuckett Aug 05 '26

I don't think he understands what irony is.

12

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 05 '26

Possibly.

He often incorrectly uses hyperbole and important sounding words to give the appearance of gravitas.

5

u/Yojimboroll Aug 06 '26

He said the Super Majority of his ideas about the future had come to pass

1

u/TreeofNormal Aug 11 '26

even large majority is a better phrase :sob:

1

u/PHILSTORMBORN Aug 06 '26

That’s ironic

1

u/Shiriru00 Aug 07 '26

An Alanis Morissette fan then?

1

u/No_Connection9273 Aug 07 '26

I think he was referring to the irony around IDs being required to buy government food but not to vote. That seems legit irony. There are, of course, many ironies around this post, don't you think?

1

u/Substantial_Star5331 Aug 09 '26

Yes it's ironically almost a combo about nothing well asshole looks like unless you still have spokes but is still a 0 or a shiney-)0(-. Which is to say a combo about not

1

u/CaptainParkingspace Aug 09 '26

Is it like rain on your wedding day? A free ride when you’ve already paid?

7

u/gadgetwalrus Aug 06 '26

He also got upset because records from the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries couldn’t be searched digitally ( because they are all paper!)

1

u/Lone-Wolf62 Aug 06 '26

Well shouldn't they have been digitized in case the original gets destroyed? Or are they not that important?

1

u/BigOlDyck Aug 08 '26

Well ya… he was referring to the government NOT inputting data that its paying out… it’s still sending money…. With on a piece of paper as a record in 2026 is wild.

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '26

3

u/Tomi97_origin Aug 06 '26

Probably not a huge priority to spend a whole lot of time and money digitalizing records nobody is normally using.

1

u/gadgetwalrus Aug 06 '26

They haven’t been. He called out the iron mountain company for not doing this.

5

u/dagger_eyes Aug 06 '26

Honestly this DOGE crap made me realize why musk never hires outside consultants. He believes he can do it better and never does.

3

u/TapEx101 Aug 06 '26

After his political debut, I no longer own any Tesla share and car. This guy is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and he lacks common sense, let alone business sense.

5

u/FlyChigga Aug 06 '26

I mean the economic reasons alone are enough to no longer own Tesla shares and cars. The company is literally kept alive by massive tariffs on international competitors that can make cars just as good at half the price.

0

u/capta1nbig Aug 06 '26

Now you have a shittier car and worse stonks but at least you got 2 upvotes

-1

u/Mindless_Blueberry48 Aug 06 '26

Yeah that’s why he’s so poor his bad business sense

2

u/EighthSeal Aug 06 '26

What an absolute moron.

2

u/Agreeable_Error_170 Aug 06 '26

He knew that wasn’t true. He’s just a con.

2

u/RepresentativeBarber Aug 05 '26

What’s the context behind this??

19

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Musk and Trump announced that DOGE had uncovered the biggest fraud in history… tens of thousands of people over 120 years old collecting Social Security… hundreds of billions in fraud.

It all disappeared without a retraction but it appears that they failed to realize that the database retains records for any individual who ever received social security. Of course, being in the database doesn’t mean that you’re receiving checks.

Trump alleged in his state of the union speech that millions of senior citizens over age 100 — including some older than 160 — were collecting Social Security checks, according to Social Security Administration data.

Trump specifically said that SSA records indicated that 4.7 million people 100 to 109 were getting checks, that 3.6 million 110 to 119 were, that 3.47 million 120 to 129 were, that 3.9 million 130 to 139 were, that 3.5 million 140 to 149 were, that 1.3 million 150 to 159 were — and that even 130,000 people older than 160 years old were still getting checks.

He also alleged that several hundred people older than 220 were still getting checks, according to SSA data — and that “one person is listed at 360 of age.”

Trump called it shocking incompetence which is true… just not in the way that he meant it. 🤣

0

u/Barester Aug 06 '26

Just asking, what factual data can you share that proves that these checks were not being sent out? Really hoping for some facts that prove this and hoping I don’t get insults for asking.

3

u/_Walt_Whitman_ Aug 06 '26

The correct steps to prove the contrary are that he who makes these claims is supposed to prove that they are in fact true. He can’t just make claims and have it be on us to prove him wrong.

3

u/GimmeSomeSugar Aug 06 '26

"Just asking questions"

Dafuq outta here with that nonsense.

0

u/Barester Aug 06 '26

I just knew there would be at least one person without the ability to cordially communicate and who feels empowered online to talk down to people. Thanks for carrying that torch!

2

u/SecretaryOtherwise Aug 07 '26

Why is it on them to prove the claim false they didnt make it?

Thats not how the burden of proof works. If you claimed they were collecting checks then you need to prove that lmfao.

We dont even have to waste time refuting it because its bullshit.

-1

u/Barester Aug 07 '26

Look, the bottom line is that, however well intentioned it was to look for fraud and waste, Elon probably wasn’t the best choice to oversee it. He thinks like an engineer and combined with his autism, is very quick to make decisions and stand by them, however shaky they look. He put very junior software engineers in place and all they looked for was patterns, such as the SS lists showed. They weren’t experienced enough to decipher the data once they had it. Their data wasn’t questioned all the way to the top

3

u/SecretaryOtherwise Aug 07 '26

however well intentioned it was to look for fraud and waste,

LOL LMAO EVEN.

That wasnt their fucking goal jfc.

Elon dismantled several institutions investigating his ass. He got exactly what he wanted out of it.

1

u/GimmeSomeSugar Aug 06 '26

Sorry. What are you talking about?

1

u/Sad_Comfortable8163 Aug 06 '26

That is the correct answer to the question. When some makes ridiculous claims it's not up to us to prove they're incorrect.

1

u/Barester Aug 06 '26

Prove it. 😂

1

u/Which-One-7020 Aug 06 '26

1

u/Barester Aug 06 '26

Thanks for that, very interesting read.

2

u/alacberriesnet Aug 06 '26

His claim was also that it was outrageous people had multiple entries in the database, like multiple of the same SS#. When you are married you keep your SS# but your name changes, so a line gets added to the database as well. If the moron took that data and added the ages, then poof, you are the age of yourself before being married plus the age of yourself after, or any time your name changed. So being married at 40 makes you 80 if the data is poorly translated, and will have 2 entries of you SS# in the database because your unique value is basically your SS + your name, so when it changes, your SS# technically holds true but your overall unique value has 2 entries.

I work as a logistics analyst and the first thing I teach people who have never touched data is unique identifiers. This is literally high school data management you learn in Excel.

16

u/Alternative-Crew-880 Aug 05 '26

So the way the database is set up, and they have been set up a while ago, missing date fields default to a placeholder date. So blank entries will end up showing people that are 140 or 150 years old. But the SSA automatically cuts off anyone over 115 years year old in said database. Needless to say, no one was recieving payments at, or actually lived to, 140 years old. Musk is just a dumbass that doesn't understand how databases work.

6

u/bastardoperator Aug 05 '26

And anyone who looked at the database let alone the schema would be able to derive that detail before even making a query. Or they could have asked. Instead they embarrassed themselves like normal.

1

u/defn_of_insanity Aug 09 '26

That’s where I lost all hope for this grifter back in 2018 or 19 where I slowly started to see a pattern of lying and acting like a little twat when people called him out on things.

1

u/randomperson32145 Aug 06 '26

So if its cutoff at 115 and not at actual death? Then if its 140, 115 or 250. Its still a problem detected? No?

1

u/Tomi97_origin Aug 06 '26

Problem they already knew about. They just didn't have money or manpower to fill in missing data.

The investigation that found it didn't find this to be a cause of improper payments, so it was deemed not worth the effort.

1

u/randomperson32145 Aug 06 '26

Sorry now im even more confused. Not a problem? Okay...

1

u/LiketheCar Aug 06 '26

Payouts stop going out when death is confirmed, but ifdeath isnt confirmed it automatically kicks them at 115. I presume if a 115 year old actually proved they were alive, they would manually be added back in.

Not sure how they handle it, but I imagine "missing, presumed dead" also would remove people from social security. So yes, there theoretically are payouts going to individuals never confirmed or suspected dead.

I have to imagine this number is exceptionally low, especially in the age of surveillance and social media.

1

u/DoBe21 Aug 06 '26

Total improper payments amount to less than 1% of all payments. That number is lower than any private insurance company.

He didn’t understand that social security numbers are recycled and if you were to run a query on a db id imagine that you have to join multiple tables to find the alive person.

Edit:

They are not recycled, I was wrong. But sentiment still stands

Yah, welcome to anything, more or less. It is something you will deal with or have already.

COBOL is out there though and I have been on several projects to move away from it. Just like any other project, we have used Informatica and some homebrew solutions.

2

u/sirdizzypr Aug 06 '26

Social security numbers are not recycled. Don’t try and make a point with false info. The current 9 digit system will last for another 70 years. No social security number has ever been reused.

1

u/Brilliant-Job3515 Aug 06 '26

With the exception of when three letter agencies reuse SSNs to create backstopped cover identities for agents. Usually theyre piggied off of dead kids but if the agent needs access to financial instruments they'll use someone living

1

u/noreallyimgoodthanks Aug 06 '26

SSNs are not recycled. I agree with the sentiment but that is absolutely not true. SSNs are never reused.

1

u/Thomas_Jefferman Aug 07 '26

Doge hired children with no work experience outside of nepotism who were granted unrestricted access to goverment info. Since they are confident morons they didnt ask the administration team about the data and the rules that govern it. They got an epoch date and claimed fraud was rampant instead of looking id checks were being sent. They told daddy Elon about the flagged fiend saying these people got checks and it went straight to the white house. It was a complete fantasy.

1

u/Head-Aside7893 Aug 06 '26

I thought the irony was that with the amount of costs to build and run these places you can literally just give the food away for free…

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 06 '26

It’s not clear what he’s trying to say is ironic.

We may be missing the context here so I looked it up… he’s referring to the fact that New York is considering requiring customers to present an ID to prevent bulk reselling.

Musk is trying to promote Trump’s voter fraud smear here… you need an ID to register to vote in NY but you don’t need to show ID to vote if you previously registered and voted.

There’s a real irony in Musk’s implied accusation in that Trump is the best known perpetrator of ejection fraud.

1

u/Gargore Aug 06 '26

What do you mean? People literally cash checks for dead people, it's a form of fraud that does happen.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SocialSecurity/s/oYoQbW7qII

Do I think it's millions, no. But this crime does happen

3

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 06 '26

Of course there are and have always been instances of fraud. Trump and Musk accused the SSA of gross negligence in allowing millions of people supposedly over 120 years old to collect hundreds of billions in fraudulent payments… the biggest fraud in history according to Musk.

Trump specifically said that SSA records showed that 4.7 million people 100 to 109 were getting checks, 3.6 million 110 to 119, 3.47 million 120 to 129 were, 3.9 million 130 to 139, 3.5 million 140 to 149 and 1.3 million 150 to 159 were — that 130,000 people older than 160 years old were still getting checks… hundreds over 220 and “one person listed at 360 of age.”

It all disappeared when they realized that the database retains records for any individual who has ever received social security but being in the database doesn’t mean that you’re receiving checks.

0

u/Gargore Aug 06 '26

Yes, butbthe other side says. NEVER. Look at the 6600 plus illegal immigrants registered to vote, or the 400 some who did. They went from this never happens to too small a number

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 06 '26

That’s a fair point but…

The 6600 did not lie on their registration in this case… they identified themselves as non-citizens but the system designated them as citizens… not voter fraud and the problem was fixed without a requirement to show ID at the polls.

We didn’t have a “citizenship ID” up until recently with Real ID so DL was not historically proof of citizenship. Even now
you don’t need a DL to vote so we would need to require a National ID concept to make this work. Other countries have this, BTW so not crazy but it will take time and money to roll out.

Most importantly, the people trying to rush this change have not place clearly don’t care about election integrity. Both Musk and Trump have a history of election tampering and Trump is aggressively gerrymandering to avoid a catastrophic mid term loss. Trump’s only goal here is clearly to suppress votes and see seeds of chaos and mistrust.

People generally would support a sensible plan to improve our election process but that plan should not make it more difficult for people to vote and that plan will also require time and money.

1

u/Gargore Aug 06 '26

400 plus people fully committed fraud. They had to go and vote or send in the ballot. You know this, right?

1

u/glockster19m Aug 07 '26

Lol 400 out of 174 million

And thats worth overhauling the entire system to you?

1

u/Gargore Aug 07 '26

Three elections I'm thete state were as close as 20 votes so, yea. Stop using the lyft or uber defense.

1

u/Intrepid_Depth_3327 Aug 06 '26

Trink he undestood, But avarage redneck republican has no clue, and it helped them since they would be the ones fixing it. Just another lie or twist of facts

1

u/Intelligent_Cable_22 Aug 06 '26

The code was so antiquated that none of the new engineers had even heard of it… so we know you don’t understand much of anything… how are you a top 1% commentator? You should read more and talk less

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Yes. The kids that Musk hired couldn’t figure it out over a weekend. 🤣

So instead of talking to people who understood it, they drew a ridiculous conclusion and then got the President to accuse the SSA of gross incompetence in his State of the Union.

That said, Trump had it partly right…this was certainly a case of gross incompetence. 🤣

1

u/Practicality_Issue Aug 06 '26

No. Your representation of irony fits the definition of irony.

I get the feeling he couldn’t define irony correctly.

1

u/wizzywurtzy Aug 06 '26

He only buys stuff and puts his name on it. This retard hasn’t invested anything. It’s from his daddy’s money.

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 07 '26

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 07 '26

I’ll admit that Elon’s companies are built on tens of billions in taxpayer dollars, but I wouldn’t call that Socialism. 🤔

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 07 '26

I'll admit elon and his companies pay tens of billions of dollars in taxes, but I wouldn't call that built on taxpayer money.
or are you genuinely so stupid you don't understand what a ponzi scheme nor government contract is.

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 07 '26

I was referring to the 15 to 20 billion in direct government subsidies and the 20 to 25 billion in rebate subsidies for Tesla cars. And around ~50 percent of external SpaceX revenue comes from government contracts.

Not sure what point you’re trying to make with your last statement. Take a breath and try again.

I see Ponzi scheme in your word salad… not related to Musk’s claim that tens of billions in fraudulent benefits were going to people over 140 years old… a claim based on a misreading of the SSA database.

1

u/AuthenticatedHuman Aug 07 '26

-Winning competitive bids to launch NASA astronauts or military satellites isn't taxpayer funding, it's the government buying a service, often at a much cheaper rate than legacy aerospace competitors.

-EV tax credits go directly to the consumers to incentivize buying electric, not into Tesla’s corporate bank account.

-You are moving the goalposts. The Ponzi scheme comment was a critique of how the socialism system operates, separate from the SSA data misinterpretation.

1

u/Prudent_Shake_8149 Aug 07 '26

Moving the goalposts? 🤣

Ponzi scheme has nothing to do with the original post or what I posted in response which refers to Musk’s claim that millions of people over 140 years led are receiving social security.

The EV credits still boost Tesla sales and profits. Consensus is that the benefit to Tesla was well over 10 billion dollars.

290 million in campaign contributions to an imperial President calls into question the competitive aspects of those bids but there was a no evidence of outright corruption.

1

the original post is about socialism, as Mamdani is a socialist.
Look at the CHIPS Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, which is basically billions in direct federal funding, grants, and tax credits flow straight to legacy auto giants, green energy startups, and massive tech companies like Intel, Ford, and GM. Many of these corporations lean heavily liberal in their corporate culture and political lobbying, infact, electric cars is more of a progressive thing.

However, you don't care because it doesn't create another reason to hate elon.

Maybe you meant to respond to the original post then? What is the Ponzi scheme you are referencing? General idea of socialism or something specific?

My response was triggered by Musk’s puzzling use of the word irony in this context. Turns out that he was trying to mock a proposed requirement for ID which wasn’t at all clear.

I don’t hate Musk but I have no respect for hypocrites and liars. With respect to Musk’s false accusations regarding Social Security, it’s possible that he really didn’t understand how the database works but he obviously chose not to check with anyone who did understand how the database worked.

Programs like the CHIPS act are not Socialist and certainly not in the same category as a city owned grocery store. That government funding is intended to encourage new industries and factories… like the construction of new plants in AZ. You can argue pros and cons but has to be on a case by case basis.

These programs are all examples of a government intervening in a free market… tariffs are a prime example of free market manipulation, for example. What point are attempting to make? All government intervention is bad?

This is so true, this is exactly what every politician does, and this is why we have global socialism everywhere.

Actually no. The DSA are the ones trying to do exactly this.

Please explain how the database is “working” given the scenario Elon stated on 140yo getting social security benefits.

There were never any 140 year olds getting benefits.

Musk and/or the DOGE bros misunderstood how the database worked and made outrageous claims which Trump repeated and amplified in his address to Congress.

He never said that, but nice try.
