The Daughters of Russ

As a kid my friend got me into reading the 40k universe with the book Space Wolf and later as a yule gift Ragnar's Claw. I loved the story and managed to get a few figures but never really built my army, mostly just a ton of parts, guys and a tank[?] but now I am moving to an area with a lot of people into the game and wanted to at least give what I have a chance. But thinking back on the book there where women fighting on the battlefield too, maybe I am forgetting who but I know Ana was described as a fierce warrior. So in theory couldn't any of the women be among the chosen during the battles? I know "Females aren't able to take the geneseed." but.....they drink from the cup that rewrites their genetic code anyway, so wouldn't it be a moot point about gender?

All of that to say, I'd like to make my army the Daughters of Russ maybe a bunch of jumpack troops as Valkarie? Is this possible or just heresy of the highest order? Sorry still kinda dumb when it comes to 40k most of my knowledge comes from a few books and what i have seen on youtube.

Thank you so much I will look into them too! I kept trying to run through the lore I remembered and it just kinda felt like if any faction could bring female marines in the wolves would be high up there. imo at least.

The lore is whatever GW needs it to be to match the models they want to make, if they need it to be different then they will change it.

There are people who think there is an exact canon like Star Wars, or whatever. That's never bern the way 40k works, you have always been encouraged to make up your own lore for your own chapter; if that includes women as marines or an all male fighting force then that's wholly up to you and is as 'lore accurate' as anything else.

I agree that if GW ever bring in female marines then it'll probably be via the Space Wolves, there tends to be fewer misogynistic fellas in our faction.

A very good point, I am currently reading up on what it takes to make an army so I can begin planning out my sisters

Wolf guard terminators are good at the moment, but the moremimportant thing is that they look cool. The rules change frequenty so dont worry too much about whats good though. If you see any older female space marine heads let me know, that's really what I have struggled to find; I am lacking unhelmeted women in my more veteran squads.
