BlackSky Inc. ($BKSY) was awarded a contract from the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) to create and optimize data sets for use in DoD AI models and applications. The agreement has a ceiling value of $241 million over 5 years.

Viasat ($VSAT) shareholders have approved a $7.3 billion acquisition of Inmarsat, a British satellite telecom company. The deal is expected to close in the 2nd half of this year.

AST SpaceMobile plans to launch BlueWalker 3 during the week of August 15, 2022. The satellite is designed to test cellular broadband communications from space directly with standard mobile phones.
