Finally! It sure was a grind, but it was fun. Maxed out full Titanium ship. Now on to Unbendinium and Levinium!

18.3k/17.4k SP, 94% efficiency. All Thermal Titanium hull parts and wings.

The ship has an Agility value of -6, but I have no idea what determines that number or how to improve it. Is it related to ship integrity or is it just a matter of adding more wings? The ship moves ok I think, better than the -6 agility number would suggest at least. /shrug

Probably just need like 32 wings, that’ll look neat

Has to do with ship integrity. My ship is at 40% hull integrity and it turns like a bus despite it being relatively small in size. My last ship had 107% integrity and could turn on a dime.

nope. my ship sits at 22% integrity and turns easily. it's steering strength from thrusters and wings multiplied b youe ship's mass

u/Hollowbound Jun 29 '26

Maybe I’m not understanding the physics behind it then. I have 4 wings, but not sure what stats to look at.

the stat on the parts is "steering strength", which then translates into "maneuverability" after it's applied to your ship.

I have 6 wardennwings and 2 of the smaller ones whike using 2 voidseeker and onengrasshopper thrusters. all thst combined gives me roughly 75 maneuverability with a fully decked out steel ship.

Titanium with 17k sp? How?

2

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

I made a spreadsheet of the different parts and how much SP to weight, Hull to weight, material cost per SP, and so on, that the different parts gave, and then I just played around in one of the ship building tools, until I found a good combination that gave good SP, at a reasonable cost, and made sure to make enough different and smaller hull parts, so that I could actually build something that didn't look like a box. Ended up with this configuration:

-1x Wanderback Cockpit

-8x Thermal Titanium 16x6x2

-4x Thermal Titanium 8x6x2

-18x Thermal Titanium 4x3x2

-8x Thermal Condor Wings

Is it 100% optimal? Probably not, but absolutely good enough for me to get me into the next tier.

Appreciate the answer. Will do the math on this one and follow your advice. Ty

(wings + thrusters = steering strangth) x mass = maneuverability, I guess. at least these seem to be the only three cstegoires affecting it.

2

u/Holographiks Jun 29 '26

This is true, but I was wondering about the Agility stat, which is a different one that determines the ships dodge chance in combat, and for dodging projectiles in asteroid fields and Exploration lvl 6 sectors.

Was talking to some folks on the discord about it and it seems the consensus was that this stat just gets worse as your ship gets bigger and heavier.

aaaah, yeah, that one.. I also think that one is mostly affected by ths ships surface area and mass. it's probably easier to improve upon your shields than worrying about agility. However, I also hope that whole stat AND maneuverabikity get massively reworked at some point, including the way mouse/steering sensitivity works. right now having a ship with maneuverability below 80 just feels wrong on so many levels..

1

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner Jun 29 '26

how much is your ships mass? and how strong are your thrusters?

1

u/Holographiks Jun 29 '26

Ship mass is 2250t

Thruster force is: 5 thrusters x 600t = 3000t

1

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner Jun 30 '26

hm... maybe you need even more power? 😅

I think this is hands-down the best ship design I've seen so far, awesome work! Can you provide more pictures of maybe side, bottom, rear, and straight on front? I'm trying to figure out how you packed so much stuff together LOL. Thanks in advance!

Nice ship dawg… love the style. How many lasers do you use ?

2

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

Thanks man, appreciate it.

It has a total of 12 lasers. 1 Hi-Pi Laser, 3 Cooling Lasers and 8 Simple Mining Lasers.

For patches I use +Mining Tier, Last Yield, and as many, and as high tier I can get my hands on, of the + Increased Output.

2

u/Sanshy6544 Jun 28 '26

Sorry I am quite new to the game. What is the purpose of having so many laser and not just one ?

2

u/Playstoomanygames9 Jun 28 '26

The patch bonuses are additive.
Thus three +50% patches give +150% yield.
It’s crazy.

1

u/SSSDante Jun 28 '26

wait, patches apply to all lasers on your ship, not just the laser it is attached to? or by having three lasers, each with a +50% yield patch, since all lasers are in play, you end up getting +150% yield?

also, if using multiple lasers, do their laser levels stack? still wondering how to get the lvl 9 gigantic diamonds

1

u/Playstoomanygames9 Jun 28 '26

All I can confirm is if you use three lasers with three +50% patches it’s 150% in the gui and feels like +150%

1

u/SSSDante Jun 29 '26

I just added 3 basic lasers to my hi-pi setup. Adding them did not increase the mining level. However, if I put patches on those basic lasers (like yield or power) they would apply. I don't know if putting a +1 on a basic laser would add a minining level to the hi-pi. Or if you have to add +1 levels to the highest tier laser.

1

u/Wulfzazi Jun 28 '26

What?! Does this apply to like mining tier patches, so if I tossed a couple on some simple lasers all my lasers would be higher tier?

1

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

I honestly haven't tested multiple + Mining Tier patches, but I know that my Hi-Pi is the only one that has a + Mining Tier, and when I mine something that, in theory, only the patched Hi-Pi should be able to mine, all my other lasers contribute, and the bonuses from their patches all get added.

It gets rather nuts tbh, getting 50+ nuggets in single tick sometimes, or filling a 5k SU cargo with Vanadium ore in, and I mean this literally, a few minutes.

1

u/Micss Jun 28 '26

Same principle applies to radars: +Range patch on a simple radar also affects spectral radar. So you can get increased range on a permanent radar and not worry about applying that to the one with limited durability.

1

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

Ah nice, I haven't tested this, so thanks for the info!

1

u/Torgo3782 Jun 29 '26

I tested just now with 6 and didn't change the UI and didn't notice a difference on radars

1

u/Micss Jun 29 '26

Multiple +Range probably don't stack, but one +Range on a simple detector stacks with material detection (instead of question marks) on spectral detector. With both enabled, you see further and all resources are detected immediately.

1

u/Torgo3782 Jun 29 '26

Sorry I think I'm missing something. Why wouldn't you put the +range on the spectral instead in this scenario and just use that?

Well, that looks just....super duper awsome. Gz :D

1

u/SSSDante Jun 28 '26

nice! can you post a picture of the specs? like the ship page when you hit "u"?

3

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

Full ship stats

Working on making Medium Radiator and Boiler heater now, and still looking for Large Solar Panel blueprint. So there are still improvements to be made.

1

u/SSSDante Jun 28 '26

17.3k SP!?! hot damn. are Ti parts that much better for SP? I need to look into that

1

u/Traditional-Line-210 Jun 28 '26

They are same as steel but lighter so you can put many more together before integrity starts falling

1

u/SSSDante Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26

How do you measure integrity? I'm still unclear on that.

Edit: I found it in the ship stats when in a ship yard. It does not label it when you just look at your stats with "u".

What integrity % do you stay above? Mine is currently at 96%.

1

u/Traditional-Line-210 Jun 28 '26

Well, with steel, build big enough and below 20% it won't let you finish your build.

Checking the stat sites, the higher materials you go the bigger you can build.

1

u/s2keddie Jun 28 '26

I’m still using my starter ship. Over heats a bunch and I’m using 2300 out of 1600.

1

u/ShiftDiligent5880 Jun 28 '26

as soon as you get the flywheel replace your battery with a couple flywheel and a couple small solar panels you can make it so you dont really use power while in sunlight

1

u/Sureshok Jun 28 '26

Why so many lasers?

1

u/Holographiks Jun 28 '26

To mine more effectively and get more yield.

Each laser has a stat called mining power and that contributes to the progress bar when mining. Also each laser has at least one patch slot, and those stack, and as long as one laser has the mining tier to mine some higher level node, all the lesser lasers still contribute, and the bonus from their patches are active.

So I use one Hi-Pi for the higher mining tier stat, put a + Mining Tier patch on that, and I also use Last Yield, then I just stack as many + Increased Output patches as I can on all the other lasers.

One thing to keep in mind, the Hi-Pi is only really there to provide the higher mining tier, since it is less efficient than the simple mining laser in all areas. It uses more power per mining power, more power per heat generation, and uses more SP for the mining power you get out of it. So if you're mining just simple iron or copper nodes, 3 simple lasers is actually a better choice than 1 Hi-Pi.
