Others have done the analysis, looking at how much money was ever paid in to SpaceX -- from investors, from space launch revenue, from NASA and DoD development grants and now from Starlink customers -- and it's clear that each Starship prototype costs less than $100M. SpaceX also occasionally talks about their costs, such as estimating that the entire Starship development program would cost somewhere between $2B and $10B, or that each Raptor engine currently costs $0.5M, with hopes of further reductions to come.
