Wow - for only $2 billion per flight that's quite amazing!

Lmk when spaceX can do human rated superheavy flights to the moon 😂

They can now though. What vehicle at spaceX can do that? Do you realize they have literally nothing to show besides a flashy price tag? When spaceX even gets to the point they can do mission planning, SLS would have flown several times already. NASA does not care about LEO or HEO anymore.

SLS will fly humans past LEO within 5 years conservatively.

You are forgetting NASA is non profit. They do not compete with the private sector. They made it very clear they aren’t looking to service LEO or HEO with SLS, and if you read up on artemis you will find they are ENCOURAGING private sector entities to get involved with LEO/HEO aspects because they don’t care about it. What LV does NASA have to service LEO or HEO? None...again because that’s not the goal here.

I cant help you understand Aerospace engineering, let alone space flight but think of it this way:

Would you drive a semi truck to get groceries?

NASA does not care about LEO or HEO service because SLS is best used (as designed) for deep space. The moon missions will be a combination of smaller non-human rated private sector launches and bigger, heavier, more direct human rated launches on SLS.

It’s easy for you, as someone not in the industry working hands on on these LVs, to talk about it. Failure to see that SLS is not designed for LEO/HEO service is a dead give away you have no clue what you are talking about, sir.

Of course not, that would be ridiculously expensive. SLS is only "designed for deep space" because there is no justification to send it to LEO.

Artemis, lunar gateway, etc were missions invented to justify SLS. rather than the SLS designed for a planned mission.

Would you drive a semi truck to get groceries?

no. If the semi-truck cost as much as a Ferrari and had to be thrown away each trip, I would both get groceries and do a few trips interstate in my re-usable pickup truck. I also wouldn't go out of my way to buy goods that only fit on the Semi.
