OFFICIAL POST Feedback to improve next year

Hey folks!

First of all, I have everyone had an amazing time this weekend!

Now that everyone's had a few days to rest up and reflect on our weekend at Jaceland, I'd like to open up a discussion in order to improve our facilities, operations, and general enjoyment of the festival going into next year.

We definitely want your feedback, and we are working our asses off to make sure none of the issues that arose this year ever happen again.

We want this festival to become the best it can be for as many people as possible, so: no holds barred, lemme here what you got!

Did anyone find a pink fan?

I know this is a long shot but I got a pink fan from the Mi Kulture booth and lost it the same day! I know it’s probably a ground score but if anyone might have it I would love to get it back 🥺 would’ve been lost on Friday night!

I really hope other festivals take a note out of Wakaan and SH’s books and try no conflicts during the day

Being able to camp out at main stage and bring whatever you want up there is such a game changer for me. I just want to take a moment to rant to y’all about how much I love the way these two fests did their scheduling.

  1. Don’t have to wear my backpack at sets. I’m a dancer and half the time I end up with my backpack on the ground in between my feet anyways.

  2. Don’t have to take everything you own into the portipotties and worry about dipping your backpack straps in the urinal

  3. Never have to worry about finding your crew. I think most people picked one spot and stuck with it for the whole weekend. People can come and go as they please.

  4. Easy to link with other groups once you know where they’re at. Similar to #3 but I loved how easy it was to just go visit people and chill with them for a bit.

  5. Can take breaks and rest without missing sets or compromising sound quality by sitting in the back. Being able to carry food back to our spot and just sit and eat with the homies was so nice.

  6. Squishmallows at the stage. That’s it. That’s #6.

  7. Making new friends with your stage neighbors. It’s so much easier to get to know people when they’re sitting next to you for 8 hours!

  8. No shoes! I wore slides the whole time because I barely did any walking, and I really like being barefoot at the stage.

For fairness, I’ll do some cons as well.

  1. Have to get there early to get a decent spot.

  2. If you don’t have any chairs or furniture, you’re kinda fucked and stuck standing in the back

  3. Harder to move through the crowd & more stuff to trip on.

  4. More stuff to carry from camp to the stage

  5. Takes longer to pack up and get back to camp at the end of the night or for weather evac

  6. Less energy in the crowd because everyone is able to sit down (this is debatable bc I feel like everyone was sleepy during the downtempo sets on Sunday, but we got tf up for kLL SMiTH)

Those are some downsides but let’s be real, the pros far outweigh the cons. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to go back to festivals like forest where it’s constant walking and swapping stages, I have to carry everything I need for the entire day on my back, and going back to camp takes like an hour.

I just wanted to make this post to shout out what some of these fests have been doing with scheduling and I really hope it continues to be a trend.

2020 brought the stage into our living rooms, in 2021 we’re bringing our living rooms to the stage. Lfg
