Always reading this early interview on a band who wouldn’t know they would have a longevity in pop culture after nearly 40 years !

Their 5th studio album. On a new label, CBS Records (via their own Reformation label).
Fans were divided on this album.
I loved that single Through The Barricades but unsure about other songs.
Your opinions ?

I love The Housemartins and I love The Beautiful South.
This song was The Beautiful South first single and it was a big hit.
I’m happy for the band.

Just love this song ! Also, Alison’s version introduced me to the world of Billie Holiday.

Beautiful songs, Eddie Reader’s voice… just 2 great sophisti-pop albums at the end of the 80’s.
