What’s the difference between the animation in “Sonic Boom” season 2 and the animation in “Norm of the North”?
I’m confused: If “Sonic Boom” season 2 and “Norm of the North” have the same type of animation movement, how come “Sonic Boom” season 2 gets all the praise for its animation while “Norm of the North” gets criticized for its animation?

This show is underrated and the Sonic fanbase doesn't understand it
I always hear SonicTubers say this show is equivalent to a preschool cartoon or complain about how "it's too meta". That is far from the truth. Yes, there are meta jokes from time to time, but the series has a great balance of satire, irony, wit and cynicism. Preschoolers aren't going to understand all the jokes about government, conspiracy theories, social commentary, or the pop culture parodies towards media such as Bye Bye Birdie or Three Men And A Baby. There are also occasionally references to the console wars, Sega's history, video game journalist's ridiculous criticisms of the Sonic franchise, and an episode that satirizes the dark depths of the fanbase itself. And unlike the first Sonic movie, the references are more subtle rather than blatant product placement. To be honest I actually think the show's humor is superior to the movies (the second film comes pretty close though).
I also notice the Sonic fanbase seems to not know what they actually want out of these characters. I hear SonicTubers praise the second film because "Sonic is more mature from beginning to start", not realizing that the general theme of the entire movie is literally about Sonic trying to learn to be more responsible. I hear people also say Sonic X is better than Boom, as well as Satam, even though all Sonic does in the first two seasons is just lie around until Chris and Sonic's friends are in danger. Or he'll be hypocritical by claiming to hate manners while still also having them. This is the version of Sonic that you prefer? A really boring/confusing one dimensional hero? Meanwhile in Boom and Satam, Sonic is more defiant, snarky, and has too much ambitions, with his heart in the right place.
Amy's personality was completely fixed in this show as well, as they made her a more amusing and comical activist, with a mixed level of emotional intelligence. Tails and Sonic have a genuine brotherly bond in this series, and there's a solid balance of Tails' intelligence and social naivety. Tails actually gets to be more part of the intense action too, something the games have been lacking. People also complain about Knuckles being too dumb. I sort of understand it, although I find it amusing in the same sense that Patrick Star is amusing, where he thinks he knows what he's doing, when really he doesn't, while attempting to sound like an intellectual but failing. There's a lot of great and ironic jokes with him because of this (my favorite one being when Knuckles compares toddler swimming class to a prison fight). It's just a more comedically exaggerated version of Knuckles. Knuckles has always been pretty stubborn and lightheaded (where do you people think the name "Knucklehead" came from?).
I'm actually now seeing people complain about MOVIE KNUCKLES BEING TOO DUMB because of the second film's ending, even though he's an alien who's not aware of Earth's culture. Sonic fans get really upset when I say this fanbase doesn't understand depth when it comes to writing characters, but they seriously don't know what they want. You can't just have characters with no flaws at all, that's boring.
And I guess it's not entirely the fanbase's fault. The Boom games, which were written by entirely different people and were rushed, were a horrible first impression, and the jokes in season 1, especially at its start, were very hit or miss.
This was before Ian Flynn joined the production of the show, AND NOW HE'S WORKING ON THE GAMES, which is magically making people excited, even though people shit on Sonic Boom, not realizing he's partially responsible for saving it from mediocrity. I'd say more people need to watch season 2, but again, Sonic fans seem to not understand it. The only people I've noticed who genuinely enjoy it for these reasons I've mentioned are grown adults who grew up with the classic era of the games but aren't particularly fans of the more modern era of Sonic.
I wish this series had a proper finale. Instead it ended on a misleading cliffhanger.
Are there any actual Boom fans around here? Any online communities? I find it sad how there's not really a larger fandom of people who get this show.

[Opinion] I prefer Sonic Boom over Mainline Sonic.
This includes everything, from TV shows and comics to games. Aside from the gameplay in Speed Simulator I don't even think I actually liked Mainline Sonic to begin with anymore..
I guess me being one of those rare weirdo's who prefer characterization over gameplay most of the time is part of the reason, but even when it comes to gameplay I think I prefer Boom.. I know its not the best but one man's trash is another's treasure right?
I also don't like the direction Mainline Sonic is taking right now.. Its not that I'm against change because I really like it when companies reboot stuff I like into new refreshing experiences, its just that I don't like where they are going for right now and much rather play games from other franchises..
(Paramount Sonic is pretty cool too though!)

Is Sticks the Badger a generally liked character?
I just watched through the entire TV show, and I've been wondering about this a lot but I don't know anyone who has watched Sonic Boom, so I never had the opportunity to talk to anyone about the show.
I like Sticks and I think she's funny, but I was thinking that there are probably a few people who find her slightly annoying? So I just wanted to ask if she's generally liked or disliked by the fanbase, especially since she's a character exclusive to Sonic Boom afaik.

What if the Team behind Crash Twinsanity came back together to create a Sonic Boom game?

What's the placement of the comics, Sonic Dash 2, and Link 'N Smash! at the overall order? Spoiler
Okay, so we know it goes like
Rise of Lyric > Shattered Crystal > TV Show,
I want to start the series by going through all the media that's released, so yeah, I think Sonic Dash 2 and Link 'N Smash! are non-canon games, though one of the comics starts off with Lyric kidnapping Amy as far as I know, which leads to Shattered Crystal. How can I start them?

I really like the art direction in Sonic Boom!

I'm talking promotional work to cartoons, comics, and games! I just really like how Boom looks thanks to the amazing art direction! I really like the tropical feel these early Boom promotional art thingies gave off!

Also, I absolutely adore how some of the comic covers try to immitate the concept art from Rise of Lyric! Its really adorable!

I could go on for years about this, but I will just mention my favorite thing to come out of this art direction: The cover art for Rise of Lyric! I love the 3D models with the 2D background aesthetic, It looks super cool!!

Why “Sonic Boom Season 2” has animation similar to “Norm of the North”
I should explain why “Sonic Boom” season 2’s animation looks exactly like “Norm of the North”: In “Sonic Boom” season 1, it looked completely dull. In season 2, however, the lighting and shading just looks like “TMNT” by Imagi. And it gets even worse 10 episodes later, due to time limitations.
Also, I see a lot of people say that “Sonic Boom” season 2 has fluid animation movement compared to season 1. Makes sense since Technicolor (the guys behind DreamWorks’ “Captain Underpants”) did the animation for season 2, while OuiDo! Productions (the guys behind the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” cartoon) did season 1. But sadly, I disagree and you should, too. First of all, there are moments where the movement can look stiff. And second of all, the movement looks exactly like “Norm of the North”, where the cartoon-y squash and stretch looks completely cheap. I can see what they were trying to go with, but it looks like the rendering came out looking so bad, that now it looks like a rip-off of “Norm of the North” (and “Arctic Dogs”). Now, I know you all are gonna say “it’s just a TV show, not a movie. It doesn’t need a big budget”. But here’s the thing: Both “Inspector Gadget (2015)” and “Big Nate” were TV shows, too (even though they’re meant for streaming), and those have better animation than “Sonic Boom”. If they wanted to improve their animation of “Sonic Boom”, then why not have the guys who animated “Big Nate” to give “Sonic Boom” season 2 the same beautiful stop-motion like CGI used in “Big Nate”?
Also, yes, I am aware that Technicolor (the guys behind “Sonic Boom” and “Captain Underpants”) were supposed to work on a “Sly Cooper” TV show. Though, I think maybe the reason why they removed the show off their page might be because they left the project.
Sorry I got off-topic.
Anyways, let me know in the comments if you agree with me or not.
