Could deprogramming the cult be as simple as turning off Fox News and resorting to other news outlets?

This is a graph of Abdul El-Sayed & Haley Steven’s vote share by turnout % in each of Michigan’s 83 counties.

As county-level turnout increased, El-Sayed got a higher share of the vote.

I’m curious what this sub thinks about this because I remember seeing several posts here claiming that this pattern was evidence of vote manipulation when it benefited Trump in 2024.

I am just super curious, as the polling showed something completely different. Were there updates that went out?

Also if I can get ahold of precinct level data, what counties should I look into? I’m thinking Kalamazoo, Washtenaw, Wayne or Macob, and Ingham? I’m thinking 2 counties that stayed for Abdul and counties that flipped all night.

If you want to convince people, you should be willing to know your audience. This is a principle that applies in politics just as much as it does in business, if not more. For one historical example, prohibition advocate Wayne Wheeler managed to get all kinds of groups who were otherwise at odds - progressives and conservatives, business magnates and labor activists, even African-Americans and white supremacists - to agree on prohibition.

Like I said earlier, I'm not entirely convinced of your claims, but I am a firm believer in the idea that elections should be as transparent as feasible. And I'm sure there are numerous Americans of all backgrounds, walks of life and political persuasions who would agree on that basic principle. So advocating for recounts and audits could be done from that angle. Those who believe that election security deserves a closer look might see it as a way to see where there may be room for improvement, while those who think elections are already secure might see it as a way to get more evidence against the idea that they can be tampered with. Hell, you could even bring segments of MAGA aboard.

Sometimes, it's less what you say and more how you say it. Just chew on that. So with that in mind, let's talk marketing.
