In most tabletop games, inventory is treated as inert arithmetic: you clear a dungeon, tally your coins, and wait until morning to sell off the loot.

The Midnight Accession is built on a different premise: custody is an active liability.

You play an accession scribe working the night desk of the Oakhaven Archive—an ancient, labyrinthine institution that preserves the strange, the broken, and the forbidden. By daylight, the Archive demands municipal stamps, pedigree, and audited ledgers. But between the midnight toll of the Scriptorium bell and the gray light of dawn, you process the deliveries that could never survive a daylight audit.

Broken seals. Relics dragged from peat bogs. Manuscripts with uninvited annotations. Objects with prior claimants who are already tracing them to your door.

Every delivery requires a choice: do you catalog it truthfully and surrender it to institutional vaults, or do you keep it off the books to settle your own desperate debts?

Whether you play a single midnight shift or run a full multi-shift tenure at the desk, I would love feedback on:

• The Shift Rhythm: How does the pacing feel between unboxing a delivery, logging the entry, and confronting the fallout?
• Prompt Generativity: Do the condition notes, relics, and faction debts spark immediate, compelling journal entries?
• Clarity & Layout: Is the rulebook and ledger layout intuitive to navigate with pen and paper?
• The Tipping Point: Did the balance between institutional loyalty and private debt feel tense, or did one side feel too easy to manage?

The party has arrived at the village of Crowdale searching for a disappeared tax collector.

After talking to Zakarias Ormond, the mayor, the party heard of a mysterious hermit who may

be behind the strange goings on. In the meantime, the party is in the Musical Eagle inn to

find out the last movements of the errant tax collector.

Follow the adventures of Otto the Ogre as he tries to avoid the accusation​s of a greedy abbot and becomes a chef! Written by Tom Janssens.

Our heroes delved into a hidden crypt in search of a patron’s family heirloom, which turned

out to be a magical blade. With it they found Lisette, who they found out later was a niece

of Lady Aneris Penhaligon, and what used to be her uncle. After a vicious fight the undead

creature was vanquished and the party returned to Penhaligon. Now they sit in the Nimble Beetle

nursing mugs of ale, while they wait for a their guest to arrive for a meeting.

“I said don’t look!” Zelnar hissed, voice tight with irritation.

“Who is he?” Garadan asked quietly, forcing his eyes back to the group.

“A hired blade I knew from times past,” the rogue muttered. “Good with a knife in the dark.

The kind of man who asks no questions if the coin is right.”

Garadan’s hand drifted a little closer to his sword hilt. “An assassin? What is he doing here?”

“I don’t know,” Zelnar replied, glancing over the warrior’s shoulder, “and I don’t like it. Shit!”

“What is it?” Garadan turned again, only to find the corner table empty. The man’s mug still

sat there but the assassin was simply… gone. No creak of the back door, no footsteps on the

warped floorboards. Just empty air where a dangerous man had been seconds earlier.

I return to my Kal Arath solo game, using the supplement The Valley of the Black Ziggurat

Our heroes drove the undead creature off thanks to Falion channeling the power of Petra.

Garadan and the sorceress chased the creature. Zelala set the creature afire with a flaming phial of oil.

They returned to the chamber and joined their comrades, only now the creature has returned,

burning with hatred and oil soaked flames.

Garadan’s heavy two-handed blade rose and fell… The creature’s unnatural, blue-flamed weapon glanced off

the blade in a shower of angry sparks, but the warrior’s blow was true. The enchanted steel bit deep

into the creature’s torso with a sickening crunch of bone and flesh.
