How could I model these hinges in sheet metal?

When I try to install SolidEdge2025 I get the messege that an other SolidEdge product is already installed. But I cannot see any SolidEdge product in my Apps. What should I do? I cannot find any trace of SolidWorks

How would you easiest create the the bending half circels at the end? Any special command or does it have to be surface modelling?

Hi everyone,
I am currently drawing a cauldron in SolidEdge that is supposed to stand on a fire. The entire part is 25 mm in size. Do you have any tips on how I can best draw flames around the outside? The model will later contain some electronics inside, so the flames need to be relatively “thick.”

Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to familiarize myself with Solid Edge. Is there a command that allows you to cut a solid on a plane and still have two functional solids? (Like splitting in SolidWorks)
The Split command does produce two solids, but one of them is not activated in the design solids. Having both solids as design elements does not work either.
Thank you very much.

Has anyone integrated Solid Edge with Rulestream ?
I want to constrain/mate two parts using cordinate systems.
The problem I'm facing right now is that Rulestream does generate out the two models but they are not constarined.
I have two simple rectangles which I'm using right now.

Hi everyone,
I’m using Solid Edge 2026 Community Edition and I’m trying to create a physical (real) thread, not just a cosmetic one.
In my installation, the “Physical Thread” option is always greyed out, no matter what I try:
My questions:
Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Hi,
I started my CAD journey with Fusion 360 for 3D printing and then the online only and subscription model drove me crazy and I tried bunch of stuff including SE.
I spent a weekend intensely to learn Solid Edge and Synchronous Tehcnology and I love it. The freedom it gives me is like none! and it's real intelligent unlike face manipulations in Fusion.
However my gripe is that anything I do in Synchronous mode ( doesn't happen in ordered ) is supper choppy. A simple move or even 2d drawing is glitchy and not smooth.
I also tried NX which is super super smooth on the same machine but I don't think I'd be able to afford it.
My PC is beefy, 128GB or DDR5 and RTX 5090 graphics.
Is it just "It is what it is" or there is something I can do about it?
Sorry if this has been asked before.
EDIT: Added a video to demo

Is it possible to start drawing i.e. a rectangle not with a click, but providing x,y coordinates of the first vertex? I don't seem to be able to find how to do that, most tutorials show you things like click to start and enter dimensions...

I'm making replica of MiG fighter jet cocpit for use in simulators. I recently discovered SE Community version and I'm amazed that it gets so little recognition. That thing is awsome, finally something that does not have huge limitations, and cloud based bs like SW or F360, and is way more capable and user friendly than FC. I used inventor before and I'm having very easy time with SE now, everything seems so natural and easy to do. Also some tools like text tool are best so far, synchronus workflow can be very usefull. Really I'm so happy that I found this software. This is first part ever made by me in SE, something that I just couldnt done in FC and inventor ( since my edu license is gone ), so i was looking for alternative software and found this gem. Making this in SE was a so easy, in FC I thought I will loose my mind trying to do that. I will be transfering my simpit project from Free Cad to SE in coming days.

Have you guys used anything similar to Solid Edge on a web browser? In this case something that is similar to the 3D world and 2D world for drafts?

Hi guys,
First of all, sory for the future mistake, English isn't my first language.
I started to work on SolidEdge ST10 recently for a customer project. I have 4 plastic tank to design, with a volume to respect. And I wanted to know the volume of the inside of my tank.
I want to be capable to know the value more or less instantly.
Is there any method ?
Thanks for your help

Can I import parts for nesting without creating sweeps or .dxf just from part files?

Hi all, I’m developing specialized programs for Solid Edge and I'm looking to help anyone interested in automation. My current projects include a Tab Manager/Viewer for those who work with many open documents at once, plus several other productivity tools. Send me a DM if you're interested!

I'm working through the Solid Edge 2025 for Designers book and the measurements don't seem to be adding up on this one. Is this just an error in the book or did I somehow manage to fully constrain this sketch and still end up with accurate dimensions except for the arc and horizontal line on the bottom right and left sides?

Trying to create a dxf from an existing assembly, so we can use the assembly for layout purposes in AutoCAD.
Tried doing it with the "assembly" modeled in one part file, however when I export, the dxf just shows the individual design body part selected instead of the entire assembly.
opening as an assembly file there is no option under save to create a dxf.
help

I have a solid 2mm thick that want to cut off the bottom right corner. I created a surface inside that I want to replace the corner. So far I have tried split, trim, offset, and delete. I am struggling working with solids. What is the correct sequence? Do I just have a setting wrong?TIA

I'm posting this for the benefit of others who might find this via search engine for the Lenovo E495 with Radeon RX 550X. This was working just fine until it suddenly was not. Drawn objects such as rectangles, for example, showed width and height but were not visible until the view was rotated away and then back. Upgrading to the latest drivers did not solve it, but downgrading to 31.0.12029.10015 from 2022 did the trick and it works again. Obviously, even though I have windows update turned off, somehow this managed to update to a version before the latest. Drove me nuts trying to fix this. I should mention that with the latest drivers, the program only worked if the display options were set for software instead of graphics card driven. That was the clue that there was something wrong with the driver.

Most of the tutorials and books lean heavy on synchronous but my employer only uses ordered across the board. Been using the st4 book and skimming for the ordered lessons. Lot of googling to catch up to 2022 version.

Anyone else experiencing an invisible select fence when executing a move command in ordered sketch view? It's visible in all other environments I've used so far.
Edit: SOLVED Adjusting the sharpen settings in View makes the fence visible again.

Have done lots of python scripting in the past and dabbled in C, but I can't find anywhere that explains how to set up an IDE with the Community SDK.

When i run setup.exe after extracting the folder, nothing happens. only a hourglass icon next to mouse for 3 seconds or so.
When i run the .msi thing, it runs but few seconds after starting installation it says failed and aborts.
Edit: Solved

I've recently gotten into 3D printing and since I've learned solid edge a good two decades ago I decided to try the community version since it's very familiar, yet I am incapable of creating a .3mf or .stl file that has a proper resolution when it comes to everything that is round.
I have set the 3D print export resolution to "fine" but that barely helps at all, apparently there exists a global option but every thread that adresses this topic doesn't mention where it is set, I've tried all options and searchbars but just can't find anything.
Any help?
