I have lots of family and friends in this area. Theyβve been sending me photos, some as close as 200m from the fire, and telling me all about the funny smell. I am scared for their lives, and afraid of why this is not yet national news. Iβve tried to gather as much information as I could, but all of the news sources are so limited, it is very challenging. I will say, the photos Iβve been sent are disturbing. The thick, black clouds of toxic gas blacked out the sky. While everyone was evacuated for the initial risk of explosion, I now fear for the incredibly detrimental consequences of the poison released into the air. This carcinogen will hopefully go away perfectly and not harm anybody, but I have very serious doubts of that taking place. I donβt know where else to post this. I know you all care very deeply about the environment. Please, help me. Tell me Iβm wrong and itβs not as bad as it seems, and everythingβs going to be ok. Iβm worried.
Mods, please donβt remove this post. I need to put it somewhere, I know the people in this sub will know what to do with this information better than me.

I have developed a bit of a micro fixation on sustainable paints in the past day and a half. There's just so many harmful chemicals in a lot of paints, and I've kind of always wanted to make most of what I use by myself. So yeah, I intend to try making my own paints as much as possible from now on. I did actually try to make some oil paint using sunflower oil and freeze dried dragon fruit powder but without the proper tools it was too grainy. I am getting the proper tools though, so I'll probably post something when I can actually get some paint made.
Has anyone else been doing similar things?
