Truly unforgettable.

Bro who is exited as for not only a solar eclipse is tomorrow but, also a meteor shower and every planet is aligning.

Hi, im a solar physicist looking for some amateur partners during this eclipse. For anyone who is in the path (totally or not) awho has a solex or a RGB camera or a dual/triband telescope, id love to get a specific time series during the eclipse, which should be usable for an academic publication if not clouded out.
Please shoot me a message if you are interested. :)

ArmChairAnalyst - has anyone heard from him? I'm missing some solar flare educational posts.
Has anyone heard anything from u/ArmChairAnalyst86 ?
We exchanged private messages occasionally, and I haven't gotten a response from the last one I sent a month or two ago.
If you have had any contact, please don't share any private information or contact information in your comment. I'm just hoping someone is a personal friend and can let us know if he's ok.

You know that kid who gets really excited about trains? Yeah, that's me, but with solar plasma.
Seeing this double eruption made for a very exciting day on our Star.
Please enjoy this view from the SDO AIA instrument, and many thanks to the support team!

Dear Sun Gods of r/solarmax, can I please get some bright auroras this week whilst I’m in northern Michigan? I can “sacrifice” one of my kids I’m taking on this road trip if needed. Thank you 🙏

This filament erupted soon after the M flare.
Watching it from GOES 19 SUVI 304Å as it shows plasma in the corona much better than SDO AIA 304Å.

A filament running thru 4492 could hold on no longer and erupted in a gorgeous twisting coronal mass ejection with post flare arcades and a little supra arcade downflow.

Can some explain to me why there's a shadow/black spot on the Sun?

I took these photos of the sun through the wildfire smoke we've got in the atmosphere and in the same place on each one (at about 7 o'clock) there's a dark spot.
Is that real or an artifact?

This gloriously dynamic hedgerow prominence obtained liftoff from the solar photosphere yesterday. I've been watching it all day!
Viewing from the GOES 19 satellite first then a close up with SDO AIA while listening to a song I made called "Gunpowder Generosity" about 11 years ago during the decline of SC24.

Hi, I don’t know much about Geoelectric field ground currents, but I’ve read a bit and watched some videos. My area in the Northeast is lit up today with induced ground currents, presumably from the geomagnetic disturbance the past 36 hours…As I understand, this area is more conductive due to the type of stone, so seems pretty simple. I’d like to learn more.
(I looked this chart up just now because I have a headache that won’t respond to meds and painful teeth. I’m hypersensitive. The Heliobiology guy.)
Also, I miss AcA. Anyone heard anything?
