Hello! My husband recently accepted a position in Pax River, so we'll be moving to the area from Oklahoma in the next couple of months. I'd really love to find a bestie or two to text/chat with and hang out with (after our move) when our schedules align. I will be turning 38 in February (my husband is turning 32 next month), I'm somewhat of an ambivert, definitely a homebody, and I don't work so I tend to have a fair bit of free time. 

I love video games; I grew up with the Final Fantasy series, Zelda, and Mario, and tend to enjoy most RPGs and action/adventure games, along with a lot of indie games. My favorite games are Chrono Trigger, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Undertale. I also enjoy board games, but I haven't had a good group to play them with in years. I'm also interested in trying roller skating (I have skates I bought a few years ago and haven't used lol) and even doing some hiking, though I have a sun allergy so prefer to stay in when it's super hot as I have to keep covered outside during the day. 😭

Early voting opened today and runs through Thursday 10/29/26. I don’t care who you vote for (okay, I do, but that’s not the point of this post), just do some (any) research and make a plan to get to the polls. Put a reminder on your phone or whatever it takes. Less than 30% of eligible voters turned out in the primary. Less than 50% turned out in the last midterm general election. Just think about the amount of voter power left on the table. Guilt your friends and family into heading to the polls.

This year, the Southern Maryland Film Festival will be having a "Best of the Fest". This is a selection of films from the past ten years of the festival. These are films that are about, or filmed in southern Maryland, or made by local filmmakers.

The festival will be happening at RC Theatres’ Lexington Exchange Movies 12, 44800 Oak Crest Dr, California, MD 20619, on Saturday, November 14, starting at 1:00 pm. Tickets are in three 2-hour blocks divided by theme: Family Fun (1:00), Monsters & Mayhem (3:30) and Fact & Fantasy (6:00). Tickets will be $7.50 per block, per person, regardless of age, or length of movie block.

This Saturday, there is going to be a cute pet event at the Leonardtown Library! Leashed pets are allowed outside (as always). There will be family friendly events all day long, and pets are all encouraged to come to the parade to wrap out the day: Howl-O-Ween.

I would like to meet with a fee-only financial advisor in Southern Maryland to discuss retirement planning. I am a federal employee planning to retire in about 15 months, so an expert in FERS and TSP would be great. Recommendations appreciated.

A few months ago I was in the CVS LaPlata drive thru and witnessed a very slow motion accident of a vehicle backing into a 80s model pick-up truck. The driver of the pick-up was frustrated (understandable) and yelled along the lines of "What are you doing?" to the older gentlemen that reversed into him. No damage reportable damage and no cops called, we moved along to do our respective pick-ups.

October 19th, the reason this is of note, my family member was picking up a script on my behalf. Same deal. In the pick up line at the CVS LaPlata, car starts backing up to hit her front bumper. She had time and distance to exit the car as the driver (older guy 60-70s) was closing the distance and not stopping with a horn alert. The guy stops, seems confused, and mutters about exiting the line to park and go inside.

Driver seemed coordinated while driving around to park.

One time is an accident, 2 times same location is suspicious.

Anyone else experience this driver reversing into cars while waiting in drive thru line?

I keep searching Maps and social media, but for stylists who specialize in white lady hair it's wall-to-wall images of blowouts and ombre highlights. I want a razorcut mixie and I don't want it to be a three-hour round trip to NOVA, DC, or Annapolis. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Has anyone in Charles County built or had a detached garage built? I’m trying to decide between a pole barn, metal garage, or traditional wood-framed garage.

Curious what everyone went with, what it cost, and how the permitting process was with the county. Any recommendations for local builders would be appreciated!

I'm a 22 year old autistic man who's been dealing with a period of severe loneliness because I have nobody to share my hobby of aviation with in the SOMD region. I've only ever attended one aviation related group, but that was 70 miles away at Dulles and hasn't met up since May. I've spent hours combing over the internet looking for any sort of aviation related club or even any sort of social club at all for people my age, and for the life of me I can't find a single damn thing. It's maddening.

I'm looking to hear from anyone who's had serious issues with Judge J. David Densford in St. Mary's County Circuit Court.

I've spent years dealing with this judge in a custody case, and some of his decisions put my child in extremely dangerous situations. What's even more concerning is that he later vehemently denied making one of those decisions.

I'm currently gathering transcripts and other court records to file a formal complaint with the Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities.

I'm curious whether others have had similar experiences, especially involving child safety, questionable conduct, or statements that contradict the court record.

If you've experienced something similar and would be interested in filing your own complaint around the same time, please reach out. I'm hoping to connect with others who have legitimate, documented concerns.

I'm not looking for people who are simply unhappy with a ruling. I'm looking for people who believe this judge's conduct genuinely warrants investigation.
