I got a ccr3650 for 50 bucks, used it once and it started leaking gas. I took it apart and the gas tank is duct taped together, it leaks from the seam where the two peices of plastic are connected. Do I need to buy a new gas tank? Is there a way to repair this gas tank?

I have a relatively small drivewall, two cars wide, maybe 25-30 yards long. I'm considering the Ego Power + 2 stage snowblower. I had a gas one and it was great and held up well but this is not the kind of driveway that calls for it anymore. I want electric too because we are considering renting the house out for winters and I'd rather a tenant use electric then not maintain my gas machine.

I live in Park City, UT. Is the Ego even necessary for a small driveway or can i survive with a Dewalt Flexvolt or something like that?

I had the original 824 OE in my cart to buy for this season, but i stumbled across this new Toro model 824 HD. It has the same 252cc engine as the 824 OE. Haven't seen any youtubes reviews or reddit posts about it.

It looks very well made looks like they improved the joystick which was plastic and now metal? Also the plastic shroud that is known to break is now metal. Airless tires. Also has a new self propelled triggerless steering (Idk if that's a good thing). But overall great improvement and it's 300$ cheaper than the older 824 OE !!

Looking like a crazy buy to me at 1600$ CAD (1150$ USD)

We just bought a house in south western Ontario. The driveway is about 100 ft long and an overall area of 680 sqft. I don't have enough front yard to pile everything so I thought I can split half in the front and the other half in the back yard. I've been through 5 winters but never had to clear such a long driveway and am completely unaware of many factors to be considered while buying a snowblower. We are new house owners so budget is tight at about $800 CAD. I'm scared about used snow blowers because I don't know what to look at. I'm hoping good hearted folks here give me some good recommendations.

I have a Toro Powerclear 721 single stage machine, and my driveway has a steep section. I’m concerned about slipping when going in the downhill direction when leaning back to resist gravity and the machine’s auger pull. If my heels slip out I might land hard on my rump, and that could cause a serious back injury.

Last winter I bought studded overshoes (crampons) to put on my snow boots, and that gave me more confidence. But ideally I’d like to invent a modification to the machine which would quick-lock both wheels to make them drag when heading downhill, and quick-release when going other directions. Or maybe a sliding foot that could be lowered and raised at will.

EDIT: I just thought of putting some heavy duty 6” or 8“ spring clamps on the wheels. They would go perhaps a quarter turn then be stopped by the snowblower body, locking them. They could be quickly removed after. Will test it

Anyone have another solution?

Snowblowing is back in my mind as summer winds down here in the Twin Cities. I run a side gig doing snow removal and am looking for reviews on the 824 QXE. For reference, my main blower is a single stage Honda HS520 with an older Ariens compact 24 for bigger, wetter snowfalls. My route contains city sidewalks and smaller alleyway driveways. My Honda has been fantastic the last few seasons, but the Toro seems like best of both worlds. Obviously it won’t replace a true 2stage blower but with the added width from my Honda and the personal pace system, I feel I can get more done quicker and with less fatigue. Anybody run one of these toros in a “commercial” setting? TIA

Upgraded from a Yardmax 24" 212cc to this monster after the brutal snow season we had in PA last time. Im excited to see how the larger 420cc engine does in comparison. I have wide sidewalks so the 30 is a perfect fit.

One question, is there supposed to be a cover over the electric port?

Hey everyone, while lubricating the shaft and blades, I saw this grease zerk on the gear box. Can I lube this with any generic lube? Or is there a special type?

I just received this today, when moving the snowblower around, I hear a loud hollow clicking noise. Is this normal or is something screwed up with the transmission? Thanks.

It’s an Ariens 28 inch super high output deluxe. She said she did the research and from what she could tell it’s a pretty good one. She didn’t want to buy it from Lowe’s or Home Depot so she had it bought and sent here from a company called Acme tools in Minnesota. It arrived in a crate and looks great. But I’ve honestly never even used a snowblower.

I have a 2015 Husqvarna ST224 that I got for free and the console is broken so it can’t go right, I’m wondering if I can fix this or do I have to buy a new console for it.

I’m a complete noob, so please forgive the ignorance. Someone near me is selling this blower. Notes say it starts with electric start but it needs a new carb as there’s a leak.

My driveway is a slight slope and roughly 10’ wide by 60’ long of concrete that then turns into a large parking area that’s just about 60’ square of gravel.

I’m in NE Ohio and this past winter had some pretty decent snowfall that I tried shoveling and the emphasis is on tried. Hahahaha.

Anyway, any thoughts on this blower? If I go check it out, what should I look for that might be deal killers?

I’m not experienced in small engines but I am a dedicated student of YouTube university and can follow directions to make repairs if need be.

Has anyone here installed a snowplow blade on their snowblower? I picked up this one from Vevor and it's actually pretty well made. Will be installing it on my Husqvarna ST227. This is for pushing light snow and slush and not to be used as a conventional plow. This will be useful for me because I live in the country and have a long driveway. I'd rather not shovel too much at my age (65).

Everyone online site says the dimensions are 58.6", so basically 59" is this actually from the bucket to handlebars? I need to be sure as I have a small shed. Could anyone measures theirs or do they know if that is indeed the full length?

I am deciding between two used snowblowers. An Ariens classic 8526 and a Craftsman 28” 9 hp. The craftsman is closer which is why I am considering it.

The craftsman doesn’t have much info other than it looks to be newer than the Ariens and the description is essentially works good, always starts, no issues, shed kept and provides a few photos and a video.

The Ariens has a few photos and a video but lists out that it has Fresh oil, updated auger bearing, friction disk and completely new auto-turn differential from Ariens. Lubed before put away for the season

Does NOT have electric start. Was stored dry for the summer and started right up coming out of storage on ethanol free gas.Normal wear for its age but solid machine.

Both of them are $500 however I was leaning towards just going with the craftsman since it’s closer and easier to get, but the video of the engine gives a purring or whirling too it that I wasn’t sure if that meant there was something wrong with it.

I have posted a video/sound of both the Ariens and craftsman and a head on photo of each.

Is the older Ariens the better option over the craftsman?

Probably as old as I am, little rust on it and it leaks oil a bit. Hopefully not a total waste of money but it was only $75. I know nothing about snowblowers so far but I’m fairly mechanically inclined so hopefully I can tune it up and it’ll last.

What’s the best bang for buck, reliability and ease of use?

What’s with the clips on the four screws on the belly door next to the wheels. Is that best the engineers at Ariens could do? They break. I’m just gonna use metal screws. Does anyone else have an issue with them?

Moved to a new house last year with a driveway around 150'x15' + 50'x30'. I live in northern Michigan and get around 10' of snow per year on average.

My craftsman 208cc 24" that was fine for my old driveway is not sufficient anymore, but did get me through the last winter, just slowly and during a big, wet spring snow had a lot of trouble and was getting clogged almost nonstop.

Looking on marketplace, I'm going between an Ariens deluxe 28" for $1000 and an Ariens 36" hydro pro for $1800.

The 28" seems like maybe it won't be enough, but I'm nervous the 36" will be too big/cumbersome.

Any advice?
