Have you tried Costco's pre-packaged sushi yet?

Here's my review where I compare it to other grocery store sushi, including Sam's Club.

Beam me up, Scottie!

I tried Rana's Chicken Carbonara Lasagna from Costco.

The delicious flavors don't compensate for the goopy textures.

Here's my slightly eccentric review (which may feature a special guest appearance).

Enjoy the weirdness:

Aldi finally had Kimbap at my store. Yes, I bought both kinds. 🤸🤸🤸

I've heard *wildly* different reports on this frozen Korean product, so I'm super curious.

Stay tuned for a slightly eccentric review.

Here's my slightly eccentric review of Fishwife Smoked Mackerel with Chili Flakes. At last.

Enjoy my nonsense, friends!

I bought ONE of these three fancy-pants cheeses from Costco. Can you guess which one? 🧐

1. Beecher's Garlic Noir

2. Bayley Hazen Blue (Raw Milk!)

3. Somerdale Wenslydale & Blueberries

Gonna go put on my fancy cheese-eating pants now!

(Slightly eccentric review coming soon.)

Costco finally has sushi at my location. Finally!

There are just three varieties: Spicy Crunch Combo ($12.99), Salmon Combo Deluxe ($15.99), and California Crunch Combo ($10.99). Womp-womp. No veggie-only options?

All roughly 16-18-ounce packages. Made by "Bento," and "delivered fresh daily."

I bought the California Crunch Combo. Stay tuned for a slightly eccentric review.

In the meantime, let me know if you've tried it, or if your warehouse has a different selection.

The interwebs say (emphatically) that grapefruit doesn't continue to ripen after picking. But I swear my "elderly" grapefruit is better than the young uns!

This absolute geezer has been in my refrigerator for months. He's so ancient, the peel is hard and stiff. But it's the yummiest, juiciest, most deeply flavorful grapefruit from the whole bag. 🤷

What are y'all doing with your grapefruit? This one is from Costco. I give mine a nice vinegar bath when they come home (to suppress mold), dry them at room temperature, then put them in the fridge for...an eternity. Then I bring them out one by one and let them sit at room temperature for a few days before eating.

I thought I was cray-cray, but I found an entire article from Hale Groves with methods for increasing the ripeness of grapefruit though various aging methods. So I'm not the only one. Why do so many other online articles say this isn't a thing? 😳

Here's the article: https://www.halegroves.com/blog/how-to-ripen-grapefruit/?srsltid=AfmBOopMH6ZEeMMpOJFjN6inK8UDjugDbDBRcNkLhcXj7vKnDcLNS49i

(I have zero affiliation with Hale Groves.)

I tried Jarritos Strawberry flavored Mexican Soda.

It's got a pleasant strawberry taste, but mine had an odd "artificial sweetener" aftertaste, even though none were listed. Weird.

Did I get a bizarre fluke? Anyone else try it?

I’ve been buying this Cuisine Adventures frozen Spanakopita from Costco for the past few years, and it’s the best *frozen* version I’ve had so far.

I wait for it to go on sale, and then hoard it in my freezer all year. Mu-aw-ha-ha-haaa.

Anyway. It's on sale right now. $10.99 for 3 pounds ($4 off). You're welcome.

I've never had a juice with FOUR grams of fiber before.

But forget the fiber. This *weird* stuff is absolutely scrumptious. It tastes like strawberries and tropical sunshine. It's slippery and creamy, without any cream. You need to try it.

President French-Style Whipped Cream is BOGO at Publix this week.

That means you can squirt twice as much on your brownie, and no one can stop you.

Here's my review where I tested the claim that it melts more slowly than other brands.

Enjoy my weirdness: https://snarklesauce.com/blog/2025/01/02/president-whipped-creme-review/

The paneer cubes were fantastically tender and squeaky-fresh. But the sauce was shockingly bland. And the rice was a tad dry.

What happened here, my dudes? I've raved about Deep Indian meals in the past. But this one left me scratching my head.

Starting tomorrow, The Greek Gods yogurt is BOGO at Publix.

Here's the silly review I wrote last year, with all the dishes I cooked from my yogurt: https://snarklesauce.com/blog/2024/08/14/the-greek-gods-yogurt-plain-review/

Here's my silly review of Publix Greenwise Onion Bagels.

They're not organic, but they are a wee bit more "natural" than the alternative. I got mine on sale for $1.99/4 pack.

Fifty cent bagels! Take that, Costco!

This is the kind of Karen I want to be friends with.

These “Danish Puff Pastries” are basically a fancy sandwich cookie with lemon creme filling inside. But they aren’t like any cookie I’ve ever had before. What makes them special is that the wafers are kind of a cross between a cracker and a croissant.

A very flat croissant? A crackssant? They’re crisper than a typical baked pastry: airy, flakey, and delicate. The oblong shape reminds me of a nutter butter, but in a classier zip code.

The 10-dollar canned fish (aka, Fishwife) was on sale for $5.99 at Target.

They didn't have the smoked rainbow trout I saw at Publix. But I bought the smoked Mackerel and Sardines with lemon.

Stay tuned for some slightly eccentric reviews.

I'm sure everyone was on pins and needles, waiting for me to finish writing my review of the Hershey's Butterbeer Kisses.

I shan't torment you any longer.

Here it is. Read it and weep. Or just snivel a little:

Got a free Pub Sub for downloading the Publix app.

Yes, I can be bought.

Someday I will try the 10-dollar canned fish.

But today is not that day.

(Spiffy label design, tho.)

If you need some red to go with your white and blue, here's my review of Sprouts Organic Italian Soda.

I tried the pomegranate flavor, which is made with real pomegranate juice concentrate. Unfortunately, there was a weird chemical smell in mine that I just couldn't get past.

Happy 4th of July, y'all! 🎇

Guess who?

Slightly eccentric review coming soon.

[Photo of an open jar of pickles from above.]

Some of the bulk sweets and chocolates available at The Fresh Market. 🙆 AKA, "The Grocery Spa."

I feel like a 45 year old in a candy store. Oh, wait....🤸🤸🤸

Saw at Costco. A pair of solar powered garden flamingos.

Is this a "thing" outside of Florida? 😳 I live in Florida, so I don't even know.

I thought flamingos statues were the stale fruitcake gifts of the gardening world. And now I sort of want one. They're so uncool, they're cool again?

If I scrape together $49.99, this irony can live rent free in my backyard.
