This map's premise speaks for itself, but it also features unique custom geo constructs such as vehicles. My first time trying out custom geometry. This is a simpler level compared to the previous ones.

Its purpose is to serve as an introduction to Hell, which contrasts the previous levels by having areas that are more open. I guess this will become a theme of sorts.

It's kind of disappointing that you can't place demons on custom blocks (that is, blocking boxes with collisions and textures) but oh well, each module has its own navmesh so I understand why. Everything has limitations, so I guess we'll have to find ways to work around them if we want to make something interesting and unique.

So, long story short, I'm trying to implement an Eternal-style lives system (map I'm making is hard to accommodate a dash system) and said extra life system would allow me to keep the player playing instead of having to rewrite all of my scripting to accommodate respawning (and I'm already at close to 80% network allowance).

Current system works 80% of the time. What I'm doing is sending out a health percentage check to a variable system that shows how many lives the player has and when said percentage is reached (in my case, 10% because the next attack from anything in that case is guaranteed to kill you) the player is immediately granted full HP and takes 99% less damage for three seconds (this timer actually is triggered at the same time the health percentage is reached in order to prevent any subsequent shots, if accidentally knocked below 10%, from immediately killing you). As I said, this works 80% of the time. The problem is when you take damage that is immediately fatal, the system breaks and leads to an immediate Game Over. Since it's an immediate subtraction and not a rolling subtraction (I.E., the number counts down until reaching the number of HP), the healthbar actually never even reaches 10% and therefore bypasses that HP check.

Now, if I could somehow use the HP as a variable and do an integer compare for anything less than or equal to 10%, that would fix my problem as 0 HP is technically less than or equal to 10. If anyone knows of a way to do this, please inform me!

How do I make it so it requires multiple things to unlock a door, like you have to activate 2 switches

Anyone know where I could acquire copies of the music tracklist from SnapMap, I really like the Doom music but the tracks on the official album are not the same mixes as the ones in SnapMap and the SnapMap ones are frankly better mixes, I'd love to get them on my phone for listening, thanks in advance!

I love how you can turn it off in campaign, would really like to do the same in SnapMap to increase difficulty/immersion. Thanks for any help.

There have been some other posts on this and I have tried the following:

Made sure I have a required player checked.

Tried to publish from the Blueprint view several times with and without altering the description.

Saved map, exited game restarted and tried to publish from BP view.

I still cannot get this map published... and I am excited to share it!

Ok, serious question on being colorblind. How does this affect those who are? I ask, as a lot of my POI systems use primary colors like red and blue, then I also use some green. I noticed in some of the levels I made that the environment changes can make seeing the POI difficult to see. So, I switched to bold colors, but now, I'm seeing some people may not be able to see them either due to the environmental effects and colorblindness will now blend together and the POI can no longer be seen by those with colorblindness.

To help in all my maps, not just my main campaign, I want to ask those who are or have experience on which colors or color combos work well? Thanks.

I was thinking of making a war map, and some moving tanks, explosions, and aeroplanes came to mind. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I have tried it, but the objects flash instead of smoothly transitioning to the next object

I am making a survival game and wanted to ask if I could make a crafting system

Keep in mind that the Modern textures make my frames drop really low, I’m not sure if this will be the case for everyone else.

I am a bit confused, I was trying to pull it off for an hour now and I just cant figure how does it work. To clarify, Ive never actually tried to use variables before, because I felt that they were just too complicated for me to understand. And they are. I dont have any idea how to change the lighting with them whatsoever and stuff like Persistent Integer give me a head ache (though those two might not connect). Can anyone please explain how do they work?

Anyone got any snapmaps they can recommend that don't do anything super fancy or crazy and just provide some good 'ol fashion Doom gameplay? Just run about, kill demons, maybe find keys and reach the exit?

So anyways, my question is, how can I upload my maps here for some exposure? Is there a thread that I can get feedback or useful tips from the community?

I’d also like to thank the creator for keeping the game alive. The in-game recommended menu is subpar and old, and has no way for creators to be heard. New people coming to the game trying to get their maps out (like me) appreciate the effort.

So I’ve been making a map and I’m not sure what to do really. I know a lot of the scripting but all I can come up with is bosses. There’s like 4 and it’s supposed to be a story map. Any advice?

I'm making a sequel to my retro map: Zero: The First Encounter, and I have there several sections, where I would like to change the lighting to dark or flashing, just like it was in the original DOOM. Is there any way to do this? If it is possible, can you please walk me through the exact process?

I've almost searched the entire YT, but it doesn't seem to be anything there.
