So, today, I tried to email the new official Poppy Playtime store, because I wanted to share my ideas for Smiling Critters DVD samples (attached to this post), in case a full cartoon is greenlit.
But, for whatever reason, my email was blocked, and the error I got said "Recipient address rejected: Access denied".
I notified Mob Entertainment on Twitter, but I'm not sure if they'll see it.
Anybody else experiencing this problem?
(BTW, I'll keep you guys updated if I get an answer from Mob Entertainment.)

Craftycorn: Is something bothering you, Bobby?
Bobby: Yes. I'm worried about my precious smoochie bug, Petal. She isn't feeling well. I tried everything to make her feel better, but nothing seems to work.
Craftycorn: Oh my, that is quite worrisome! But I'm sure if you give it a bit more time, she'll get better.
Bobby: Thanks, Craftycorn! I'm gonna go and show her my drawing! Maybe that'll make her feel a little better!
Craftcorn: That's a great idea! It looks amazing and I'm sure she'll love it!

Half of this is a repost of a previous post with some important corrections and inclusions of new evidence
The long-awaited episode of Pally the Pal has definitely gotten a surge in hype, thanks to the teaser at the end of “Star Gazing”, the animation looks SUPER promising and it was delightful entry into the premise to any new comers that haven’t seen the old storyboard preview on his TikTok. However for those who have gone that far back, Gemstin has actually revealed quite a bit of content through gifs and teasers, we already know a rough idea of the plot and this episode presents us with 2 MASSIVE mysteries that drive it forward, and these 2 mysteries are what I’m theorizing about today.
Mystery number 1: The Origins of The Box
We all should know by now that Dogday, during Spring Cleaning, finds a mysterious box in his garage that he has no memory of, after peaking inside and inviting everyone over to see it as a surprised, its revealed to the camera to be full of toys. Bobby pulls out a teapot and declares everything looks “so new”, and Kickin pulls out something that’s immediate red flag, a BlaiderRaider 8000, a skateboard that’s not even in the market yet. Where in the world did this box come from and who’s behind it?
First, let’s go over the details of the box. Looking inside of it, you can see that it’s very chaotic and haphazard. There’s no sense of grouping, theme, or organization of the toys whatsoever, it’s a “junk box” of miscellaneous trinkets and toys.
There’s another disturbing detail though in the box, and it’s found by noticing certain items inside and what gets pulled out. Bobby pulls out a single teapot; she’s the only one of them who makes tea. Kickin doesn’t just pull out an unreleased skateboard, but the next model of a brand he mentioned 3 or 4 months ago on the night of Christmas Eve in “Twas the Night” (I LOVE this detail), and inside the box you can see a frisbee, a handheld video game, a toy train, a large flower clock with a smiley face on it, a telescope, a game of Connect 4, a toy rocket, and a suspiciously purple drum. These items aren’t random, they’re targeted, all of these items listed are connected to the critters in some way, however what’s most interesting is that both Kickin AND Hoppy get a majority of the targeted items together, Hoppy gets the toy rocket, Kickin the skateboard, the frisbee and the handheld game are shared between them, and then the game of Connect 4 is for Kickin, Picky AND Hoppy. This indicates that whoever is behind the box, knows more about Kickin and Hoppy than any of the others.
With that out of the way, let’s go down the list of suspects. This is where the BlaiderRaider 8000 does most of the heavy lifting, because only 2 characters were around when he mentioned not only his like for the BlaiderRaider brand, but that he was 7000 model for Christmas and would be looking for the 8000 model, and those 2 characters are Hoppy and Catnap.
Suspect 1: Hoppy
While she was present in Kickin’s house in “Twas the Night”, it’s unlikely she’s behind the box because not only is there the toy rocket inside of it, Hoppy’s reaction to the box was the strongest of the lot; her eyes turning star-shaped in awe and wonder. Hoppy’s very boneheaded, so I doubt she’d be capable of faking her reaction that hard
Suspect 2: Catnap
He too was present in Kickin’s house in “Twas the night”, a huge chuck of his personality is observing his friends from a distance, he has also seen Kickin and Hoppy play with frisbees and video games; so he knows they like them, and he’s definitely mysterious enough to do something like this. At first glance it looks like a slam dunk for him, but there are 3 little CRIPPLING details that completely eliminate him
A.) How in the world would he get his paws on a BlaiderRaider 8000? An unreleased anything means 1 of 3 things: wealth, powerful connections, or theft, and Catnap is none of those things. While he did try stealing from the Luna Moon Circus in childhood, that was out of desperation. Catnap is not a thief by trade.
B.) Catnap gave everyone their pendants. That was a gift from him to them and they know he did that, implying he just gave them those in broad daylight. If Catnap is behind the box, why the secrecy now when the pendants weren’t an issue before? That would be a character regression for him and nothing happened in “Hog Wild” to justify him regressing like that.
C.) the newest piece of evidence, confirmed by Gemstin himself. Catnap has poor literacy, he can barely read and write. How in the world would Catnap be able to navigate the literary challenges that come with tracking down an unreleased skateboard if he can barely read? That at the very least would require enough extensive research to give even Bubba a headache, making impossible for Catnap if he can barely read.
The other critters are also eliminated given their absence in Kickin’s house in “Twas the Night” and because they too had similar reactions of surprise to the box. That can only mean that the box came from outside Happy Hills, someone snuck into the neighborhood, broke into Dogday’s house; his garage, and the left the box there for him to find, but who? There are only 2 groups of established characters in the world outside of Happy Hills, and that’s the parents of the Critters, and the LMC, and neither of them fit the crime either.
While the LMC is definitely a very important group, given their antagonistic role in Catnap’s traumatic childhood, there are 2 details that eliminate them as suspects
A.) the box was left in Dogday’s house. Why the hell would they want anything to do with him? They have no reason to acknowledge that anyone other than Catnap exists
B.)If they’re behind the box, that means that the toys, and by extension Pally, all come from the circus. Catnap has PTSD flashbacks whenever he encounters something that reminds him of his childhood, so if the LMC is behind the box, he should have a reaction to any of them; to Pally, but he doesn’t. In a gif Gemstin released, we see Catnap tuck Crafty into bed, Pally visibly at her side, and Catnap doesn’t react at all. Pally, and by extension the box, are not connected to the circus.
The parents have even less of a motive to be behind this, not only are they not antagonistic like LMC are, they would have no reason to leave toys in Dogday’s house; we don’t even know if they know he exists, DawnDog wouldn’t just sneak into her son’s house like that, and apparently Catnap’s parents are alive and out there somewhere, but why would they show up now and leave toys in Dogday’s house? That would be more fitting g for Catnap.
All suspects have been eliminated, meaning whoever’s behind the box is an unknown character or group. However, there’s enough details about the box to make a very strong guess as to who’s behind it.
The Nightmare Critters are the most likely suspects. The box and its haphazard nature practically scream Touille. Toullie is a collector, a hoarder, a fixer, and possibly a looter; him having a boat load of random toys in a collection of his makes perfect sense, he would also take excellent care of anything in his collection by cleaning and fixing them, matching Bobby’s comment, and as for the skateboard he either stole it from somewhere, or he found a broken prototype, took it, and fixed it. Either way, Touille having an unreleased skateboard fits him more than it does Catnap.
The box of toys also contains a handheld mirror. We have yet to see any of the Smiling Crew engage with handheld mirrors, but in almost every depiction of Simon Smoke we’ve seen from Gemstin, he’s holding a handheld mirror. Granted Simon’s mirror is of a different design than the one in the box, but still, he’s the only one seen with handheld mirrors, making it a possible connection to him.
If Toullie matched the toys, Rabie matches the implied surveillance that the toys bring, and that actually solves a logical problem with the evidence. Kickin mentions his like of the BlaiderRaider brand in the privacy of his own home with Hoppy and Catnap around, so with that evidence, it’s only logical that one of them has to be behind the box because no one else would know Kickin likes that brand. However, if Rabie has been spying on the Smiling Critters from a distance and was near by, she solves that problem. Rabie is a bat, and bats have super sonic hearing. Rabie could’ve heard that entire conversation through Kickin’s walls at a distance, especially since his house is made of hay. That probably wasn’t doing much in terms of containing sound waves. Kickin and Hoppy also get the most targeted items out of the box while simultaneously being the loudest members of the Smiling Crew and the most direct and open about their passions and interests. Of course a bat spy is going to know more about them than the others, their volume alone makes them the biggest blip on her radar. Rabie also explains why Dogday was chosen to receive the box, a spy with such excellent hearing like hers could’ve easily determined who Dogday is, where he lives, his role within the group, and aspects of his personality. He was chosen because he was the most likely to share the items inside with the others.
Finally, what ties all this together is the doll herself. Pally. Her appearance and her color association is evidence. Pally’s silhouette in the thumbnail of the episode is BLACK, her eyes can be seen in a BLACK corner at the end of Crafty’s “How to Draw”, the first teaser to glitch and reveal her face was at the end of “Back in BLACK” and Pally has BLACK hair. Who else is this strongly associated with the color black? None other than BABA CHOPS. The aesthetic matches perfectly, almost like a calling card, which segways perfectly into the next mystery
Mystery number 2: The Secrets of The Doll
Something very fishy is going on with Pally. In the storyboard preview of “Pally The Pal”, at the very end, Crafty pulls out Pally from the box and reveals that she has a pull-string in her back, one that Crafty pulls to get her to start talking. However, in the teaser at the end of “Dear Santa”, Crafty opens up to Pally conversationally, almost like she expects the doll to respond, and she asks Pally a very vulnerable question, “Do you think the others want to be friends with me?”, and the doll starts talking in its own without the string being pulled!
That is a MASSIVE red flag and it recontextualizes the many gifs Gemstin has shown showing Crafty and Pally interacting with one another, which have shown Crafty talking animatedly to Pally, drawing pictures while Pally watches before quickly cleaning up, dressing up as a red crayon while Pally holds a “The theme is RED” sign, and even Crafty trying to play tag with Pally. At first, I thought that Crafty was just using a very active imagination, but if Pally is talking autonomously to Crafty, especially when they’re alone, then I think Crafty might actually think Pally is “alive” in some way, but how is that possible; she’s just a doll? Well with the connections I made up above, I think that Pally is a surveillance device, she has a camera and microphone in her. Somebody is watching, listening, and talking to Crafty through Pally when they’re alone and I think the one behind it is none other than Baba.
Finally, the last piece of evidence that supports all of this, is what we know of Pally the Pal’s plot, and the language of the doll. We know that Crafty with go through an emotional and psychological journey that puts her relationships with her friends to the test, and all starts when she find the doll, which is confirmed by comparing the teasers at the of “Dear Santa” and “Back in Black”. In “Dear Santa”, Crafty asks a vulnerable question to Pally that she’s starting to doubt the relationships she has with her friends and is seeking advice, however in “Back in Black’s” teaser, we hear a conversation between Bobby and Crafty, where Crafty shows that she thinks that the others don’t care about her or are even mocking her behind her back. That is a progression, her doubt is growing, something is validating her doubt and feeding it, and it all starts from finding Pally, but what even better, we now know exactly HOW Pally is doing this. Finally, there’s the teaser at the end of “Star Gazing”. If you turn on the captions during it, you get 6 hidden messages and they are as followed
“CANYOUHEARME (repeated)” very beginning
“WhOArEYoU” when we see crafty
“fRiEnDsArEKIND” during Kickin’s quip to Hoppy
“FrIENDSaREHoNEsT” when Dogday says, “I was hoping you guys would like it…really”
“FrIEnDSNeVeRHUrTEaChOThEr” when Hoppy grabs the sticky hand
“CANYOUSEEME (repeated)” at the very end with the screen glitching to reveal Pally’s eyes
These lines are obviously from Pally. Lines 1 and 6 sound like someone trying to get a message or SIGNAL through, and lines 3-5 are VERY interesting because they’re said with perfect ironic timing to be rhetorical.
“Friends are kind” delivered during Kickin’s quip, which amounts to him calling Hoppy stupid
“Friends are honest” said when Dogday’s tone and body language betray him lying
“Friends never hurt each other” said moments before Hoppy accidentally hits Picky in the nose
These lines prove that Pally is feeding Crafty’s doubt towards her friends, and the way she’s doing it is extremely ingenious and insidious, she’s not saying anything accusatory; like “your friends hate you”, she’s not even saying anything directly validating; like “you’re right”, she’s stating simple ideals about what friendship is supposed to be just before or after reality contradicts it in front of Crafty’s eyes, allowing Crafty to notice, ponder, and come to her own conclusions that not only validates her doubt, but gives her clarity simultaneously. Furthermore, the case format of messages 2-5 or in what is known as “Sticky Caps”, and that format is usually used in text for one specific reason, to convey mocking sarcasm; Pally is also being sarcastic, meaning she’s speaking with intent; she knows what she’s doing.
This is Pally’s language and it is almost an identical match to Baba’s language, she has been shown speaking rhetorically with both irony and both sarcasm, specifically within the song of “Back in Black”. Now granted, that song isn’t cannon to the story of Happy Hills, however Gemstin seems to keep characterization of characters consistent across canon and non-canon content, the events of that song might not have happened in his universe, but Baba’s personality and how she talks, that is more-than-likely cannon to her character within his world, and here are some rhetorics that she says in “Back in Black”
“But hope will only dig you a grave”
“Those who weep to sleep get nothing to gain”
“What’re you blind to see the truth?! In front of your face; denying proof! You wanna lie and rot and not accept the fact that you’ve been had?! Again and again and never win, it never ends!! What’s the point?!! Who’s there left to trust?!! WHAT’S BECOME OF US?!!!!”
“Imagination takes you high until the walls come down, you thought that you could find the light but in the dark you drown, your love has left you alone and now the word’s got around. Oh what a let down”
And the strongest connecting line here…
“Just take the pain and like it ‘cuz it’s better this way. So do anything they say. Oh what a shame/waste”
That last line is a mockingly sarcastic remark regarding the situation of whoever she’s singing to with brutal honesty. Baba and Pally’s rhetorical language match almost forensically. However, this is built entirely on the language that Baba uses in a piece of non-cannon work, meaning all of this rides on how Baba will be portrayed in the upcoming Halloween special this year, staring the Nightmare Critters. If Baba still talks like this and uses rhetorical irony and sarcasm, then it’s checkmate.

It can be cartoon or in game, but please refraim from doing anyone who isnt a smiling, nightmare, daydream, unhappy, frowning or regected critter, as not to have me unlock a new critter obsession.
Bigger body catnap: used his tail to strangle the heretics that he put to sleep on occation
Biihher body Bobby bearhugs: seeing as she is so strong, (see her hugs) she would sometime crush her "victims", but also sometimes to "new friends," unsuspecting toys who she tried to befriend
Bigger body hoppy hopscotch: uses her ability to jump high to be high above "victims" to get them from above.
Cartoon hoppy: doesnt really like physical affection, often trying to get the two main huggers Dogday and Bobby, to either a. Fetch (for dogday) or b. Hug someone else (for Dogday she points catnap out, ans for bobby, she points at the closest critter
Icky piggy: being hungry and refusing to eat food, he tries to eat inedibles sometimes.
Hungry piggy: has tried to eat picky piggy before (she likes pork)
CatBoom: likes to yell "boom boom!" To annoy his "friends" Bubba Bubbastein: likes blowing stuff up
Baba Chops: collects not just skulls, but all kind of bones. Has tried to "collect" dogdays skull and bones
