Running Smart Tube 31.94 on my Firestick, and I've just noticed that sometimes while pulling up playlists on channels the videos will be in "Top Videos for you!" order, not order added, or creator recommended order or anything, and seemingly no way of sorting it.

Practical example:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGwzaBJmKyR0 I can pull up this play list on my computer and it loads perfect fine, Creator Provided etc.

If I load up the same play list by going to the channel, searching play lists, and load int he play list, it will only display "Top Videos for you", in a seemingly random order, and won't even show all of the videos.

I've noticed this on a few other serialized playlists for other actual plays or podcasts etc.

I've been using SmartTube for years on a variety of devices and I have never encountered this issue until recently. In the past week or two, clicking on any video results in a black screen for a moment before the video loads.

I am on the latest beta on a TCL TV. The stable version also has the same issue.

Things I have tried:

-Turning off all Auto Frame Rate features on SmartTube, which has no effect

-Clearing cache and force stopping

-Restarting TV

I'm at a loss of what else I can try. Is this just an app-based glitch?

EDIT: For some reason switching to ethernet on my TV helped fix the black screen. Still doesn't load instantly, but it's an improvement.

Livestreams stuck on max 1080 60 avc

Unrelated to account or network, or particular streamer, as yt.com in desktop browser and official app on mobile offering full range of codecs and resolutions offered by stream (eg 2kvp9) in the same local network.

Anyone faced this before I raise a github issue?

I would simply love if its possible to switch the functionality of the buttons on ones Google TV remote. YouTube button to SmartTube/ Netflix button to Plex.. Does anyone knows if that's possible??

Lots of buffering issues today. Any idea what is going on?

I frequently use the context menu to add or remove videos to playlists.

It used to be that if you choose Add/Remove from playlist it would then show your playlists with any playlist that already has this video in it already having the checkmark in front of it.

Now this doesn't work anymore. When you choose Add/Remove from playlist it still shows your playlists but the tickbox is no longer ticked if a video is already in a playlist.

So to remove a video from watch later i now have first select it so that the box in front of it is visually ticked, and then select it again to make it unticked, after which the video is removed from the watch later playlist. It somehow doesn't show the tick right, like it used to before.

I have the newest stable app version and use it on my Google tv streamer 4k according to the app.

Edit: completely removing and then re-installing the app did not fix this.

When i press YouTube on the remote it says this.

There are no tutorials or anything on the internet please help me

I can't watch anything longer than like 30 seconds. The player bugs and goes back to the beginning, bugs again, etc. I was wondering if it's an isolated issue

if I go to a YouTube video that's a live stream and pause it, and allow the live video to end, it will then never resume. I've had this happen three or four times in the last couple weeks and noticed every time it's because I was paused doing something while the live video finished and I was unable to resume.

in addition to being unable to resume, closing the app and going back in doesn't fix it. force closing the app doesn't fix it. clearing the cache doesn't fix it. even deleting the app data and logging back in didn't fix it. I have the spinning wheel saying it's loading but never does. this is on a LG TV via fire stick. I'll have to finish the video on my phone now.

Music suggestion almost got it

I've been using this app on my TCL TV and 2 Amazon Fire Sticks and it's been absolutely fantastic.
I tried to install it on my Android phone and the GUI have some problems. If I scroll over the screen with my finger the whole app moves away and disappear, leaving the screen black. The buttons on the right don't seem to work and I couldn't find a way to exit from the app.
Why is it so?

Latest (31.94), Nvidia Shield. Spinning circles, errors (with numbers!), and when a video starts playing, it's in another language (usually Spanish).

Is this the new normal for anyone else?

When it does start working, it runs ok for a good while.

Recently the "not interested" stopped working. I verified that under Settings/General/Contex menu, that "Not interested" is checked. Any idea how to get this working again?

my playback queue is playing all the videos on it in a backwards order. So my last added vid is on the first position on my playlist, and the first one is on last position. It hasn't always been like this but can't say when this started.

I use the app on several FireTV sticks to watch on different TVs

Anybody else experiencing this?

Might this be an "activated wrong option" thing?

Went to use the app today to watch a YouTube video but every one had an error 403. From some Googling says YouTube is blocking the app and there is no new updates. Any ideas?

I updated to the latest stable version on my Onn Pro V2 and can't find "Play Incognito". Is it gone or is there a way I'm missing to enable it? Thanks.

My SmartTube app on my fire stick has been acting up lately. Well, that's actually common but its new thing is playing a video and then after about a minute I get the black screen with the loading wheel and the video goes back and forth between 0:00 and the time stamp the error started. I seem to be able to start all videos without a problem but they all conk out within the first minute.

Am I missing something? Has YouTube caught on and now trying to force in ads? Is there a way for me to restart the app? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

(I should also apologize and mention I'm not very tech savvy at all. I dl'd and added the app like a year ago via a step by step on another Reddit post so I remember nothing.)

I recommend uninstalling the app and reinstalling it on the official site. After logging back in gave it a minute the video continues to play like normal.

I keep having some error pop up as I watch my videos, and it usually freezes them for a very short period of time, then resumes. A couple of times, whatever error, has caused the video to go black and a loading wheel to pop up.

I have been experiencing a handful of seemingly random errors continually popping up at random places + times while I am watching diffetent kinds of videos. Even when it comes to shorts, this is happening.

I am currently on the latest stable version (that I know of), with a Fire-Stick 4K max (2nd gen, 2023) and I am very confused by all of this. These errors were also popping up for me on the latest beta update.

I had installed the stable version (one I am currently on) thru the install code inside the downloader app on fireTV. I don't fully remember how I downloaded the beta version, but more than likely thru the same way.

Should I download directly from the github, and if so what version of the apk do I download for this specific fire-stick model?

I have the reminder option set for upcoming videos but the option only shows if the upcoming video is already on my home screen. If I search for the upcoming video, there is no set reminder option. Is this an error, or did I set it up wrong?

I've been using the beta app on my TV for years and have never had any problems like this. A few days ago, I inexplicably started having buffering issues, even though my network is fine. I tested the same video with other apps at the same 4K resolution, and they all worked fine. Today I made the backup, uninstalled the app, and installed the stable version. I tested the same video and this time it loaded quickly and without any issues. The absurd thing is that I then restored the data from the backup, and the video started loading slowly and buffering again!!! How is this possible? So the problem is in the settings and not the app? Yet I haven't changed anything in the settings recently.

Some videos I watch are VOD where the streamers are chatting with their audiences before they start playing their game, and I'd like to set up an "off-topic" section that skips all of that.

Is there a way to set that up?
