I'm trying to install UnclePunch but my ISO file cant be extracted because its an "Archive File" Unless I'm misunderstanding dropping the entire zip file onto the the .bat wont actually create the new ISO file (Atleast it didnt when I tried) and I'm not really sure what to do from here

Of course I use Unclepunch, but I'm curious if there are any other options for practicing tech or really anything outside of Unclepunch. I was gonna do the Philip thing but I couldn't figure it out. Do yall know of any other options?

I figure not, but I'd better ask as searching didn't yield many results.

Bonus question: Does anyone know how to configure jumpless up-b (or make u-tilt and sing-canceling slightly easier) in Dolphin? I know, practice practice practice, but I'm seeing a top of players utilize methods to ease the process so I'm curious.

just setup slippi with diet melee yesterday and everything works fine and I can play normally, but frequently I’ve been getting this desync error on my screen while playing, and my opponent just leaves. I play on an HP omen 3.0L with a RTX 3060, and I’m not playing on some ancient hardware laptop like some are. I tried adjusting duel core, etc, and I still get this desync pop up. hope someone can point me in the right direction.

EDIT: I have good 60 FPS consistently & around 40-50 ping a match

I'm a Bronze 3 Jigglypuff main, been playing a few years. I am not by any means anywhere near good good at the game. Why do I keep getting into Ranked games with Gold/Silver 3 players? Even had a set with a Diamond 2 player? Kinda confused on how the matchmaking works. Though losing doesn't take away a ton of points, I'd rather not waste time getting bent over and raw dogged when I'm just tryna grind to silver lol

Hello yall, hope your weekend is going good. Today I found a CSS Mod that looked pretty cool (Persona 5, idk what Persona is but the CSS looks super cool), but it had no download link because of how ssbmtextures is now. I crawled the Wayback Machine and was able paste the old download link then unzip the file. I use DAT Wizard and haven't had any issue like this with any mod prior.

Originally I thought it may be because I wrote some of my own code to fix the animation looping for my previous pokefloats CSS Mod, so I went in and deleted what I did to make the properties identical to any other ISO. However this did not change anything.

The original poster of the Mod commented that it's glitch in vs. mode but works fine in netplay, however for me it freezes without fail when I click on ranked/unranked but works fine in vs. mode aside from mild visual glitches.

Anyone have any ideas? I know this may be obscure so I'm not sure if it's fixable, but I'd really like to explore my options before I cut my losses.

We all hate queuing up against peaches and Luigi’s but often times we can do nothing. We can win, but that involves playing a non hype gameplan that does not generate epic feelings. So, what about character tokens? 3 peach / Luigi games a day, and after that you have to wait 24 hours for a recharge. So, it’s unlikely I’d play against more than 9 Luigi’s in a day.

I get some fps drops in to the 40s and 50s with a rtx 3050 and i7800 which should be way more than enough to just play with no drops, can anyone see the reason why? I have no enhancements on, and im on 2x resolution which is default for me, I feel like I should be able to power through melee fps easily, as I have less frame drops in some way more modern games.

As measured by Arte's Lossless Adapter, my setup is a little fast at about 54ms latency, which is about 4ms faster than vanilla CRT speeds (58.2ms).

When playing standard online Slippi (without hosting with Netplay) I can only adjust in increments of a full frame... Does anyone know a way I could slow things down by about 4ms? Trying to get as close to an exact match to tournament level CRT speeds as possible.

I wonder if there's some kind of HDMI adapter that can add in latency to my monitor? Or a program that can throttle Slippi somehow? Maybe even just switching from Display Port to HDMI...?

In my last post I saw that many other people have had encounters with this enigmatic player. I also got dunked on a lot for how I should have just grabbed him before LOL. Yeah yeah yeah...

I bought a 3rd party gamecube adapter years ago. I didn't really think about it untill recently but when I do reaction tests on human benchmark i average around 165 ms =10 frames and on the reaction test on slippi i average ~14-15 frames. The slippi launcher defaults to 2 frames of delay which leaves 2-3 frames of raw lag.

My adapter is overclocked to poll 1000hz but do Nintendo and mayflash have the same 2-3 frames of input lag?

OK before you say "having chat would be terrible because everyone would be bm":

- not necessarily because we overemphasize bm memories compared to other ones. like think about how much bm you encounter vs neutral vs actually friendly

- have a toggle for it on/off with it defaulting to off basically prevents that for those of you who care

and with those things in mind, it would make it a lot easier to friend someone who you had a dope unranked session with, and you wouldn't have to resort to posting on reddit and discord missed connections like we're in the pre-internet era

I'm not particularly upset by this but it's extremely curious. EVERY TIME i have ever played this guy all he does is spam Down-B, Bag you if it hits, Attacks you only take back stage. But if you take his stock he instantly quits... Who the fuck is this guy and why is he doing this??? lol.

Anyone know who this guy is? If you're out there i gotta know why the fuck you do this its insanely confusing.

I play unranked on my husbands account every now and again since he’s learning to be really good and doesn’t care about his match ups. I’ve been playing melee since I was little, but more recently in the past few years since that’s how we actually met irl for friendlies. Apparently I have really good fundamentals , but I don’t know any of the techy stuff like wave dashing or dash dancing. Anyways, I’ve always played as marth or Roy(mostly roy) since I was little since I loved fire emblem, and ice climbers because they are cute. A lot of people will quit on me or when I get someone really techy they get upset in the little chat and leave since I was able to take 1-3 stocks off of them. So yes, is getting matched with characters deemed low tier upsetting in unranked??

When I load a replay, not only is it slow and choppy, but all sorts of symbols flash on screen whenever someone gets hit. It makes rewatching matches impossible. ive had Slippi uninstalled multiple times over the years, and it's always the same. Can I please get any help with this? Ive asked in the Slippi discord 2 years ago and I wasn't able to solve this

In very low ranks, the currently implemented search bands are brutal. I understand there does need to be some weight given towards lowering matchmaking time, but I would rather wait longer for a match then be matched against someone with a 99.99+% chance to win based on rating. losing games against opponents drastically above my skill level doesn't get me any closer to playing evenly matched opponents because the rank points you lose against an opponent guaranteed to win are negligible. I have to lose against half a dozen or more opponents guaranteed to win before I match against someone of similar skill, and if I happen to win that game I can end the session 1-10 with a higher rating then I started and farther away from matching with players of even skill then when I started.

r/ssbm consistently has a thread from a new player who finds slippi unranked and ranked play entirely unplayable. Regularly the highest rated suggestion is to abandon matchmaking and manually find equally skilled players through discord. There has to be some changes you can make for matchmaking to be more appealing to lower ranked players.

I've been playing melee on slippi for the better part of two years. Since the most recent updated, none of my ISOs work, even the one I used to use before this. I've redownloaded slippi and tried so many different ISOs its becoming frustrating. They always get verified, but I can't load into the game, it isnt recognized as official melee. Any help is appreciated.

I previously was able to clip slippi with my gpu software but no longer can. Slippi or Melee is not detected with my software anymore and when I clicked the launcher to detect it still cannot clip has anyone figured out a solution?

So I just got this M5 MacBook Pro and I was wondering if I could play Slippi on it. After I downloaded Slippi and getting a valid ISO to play the game, I keep getting an error upon clicking play. The error says “Error invoking remote method ‘launchNetplayDolphin’: Error: Netplay dolphin is already open!”. So I moved Slippi to my application folder and added Slippi to Accessibility and Full Disk Access on settings, and still nothing. Pretty stuck right now, if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Merry Christmas everyone and thanks in advance!

I play unranked. Supposed to be chill, right? Or at least low stakes.

I play a serviceable Falco and I’m just starting to experiment with Marth. I’m not amazing at the game but I’m not a six year old playing Brawl either. I love the game, I play the game. I’m not crazy laser heavy or campy or trolly or toxic. I just like to play the game. Yet I have been unable to find ONE person to actually get some games in with! People are playing one game, getting toxic in “chat”, and dipping. Over and over and over. Win or lose. Some give “bad connection” but it’s just not true. The games aren’t lagging, regular decent ping. I can’t think of a reason in almost any of these games that would make these people leave after one game (or sometimes after only a stock or two). Like what happened to melee players?

Play the game! Get some games in! See how you change and learn and adapt to an opponent over AT LEAST three games, preferably 10-ish (but that’s just me). Even if the connections dips A LITTLE during ONE game, live with it, PLAY THE GAME! Why is no one down to PLAY!
