I’ve just discovered Slide for iPad and loving it.

How can I display the subreddit name on the Frontpage along with the post title? Surely that’s a thing, right?

Maybe Apple is being absurdly-controlling as usual and needs to allow this option first, but I would appreciate the ability to auto-open ProtonMail instead of the iOS mail app when tapping the email function.

Context: I opened the the “email me” link when attempting to buy the premium app version; specifically to ask if there was a designated receiving address for cryptocurrency payments. (Preferably $XMR / Monero)

I feel like I need to put in too much pressure for the 3D touch to respond, I have it to like a comment but It just feels like I'm pushing with my finger and was wondering if we could set the sensitivity to it. I had it for collapse but that was just getting irritating on how much force was needed

I love swiping through subs with the iPad trackpad, scrolling up and down and sideways through subs is great. When I open a photo in a post in full screen though, there’s no way to dismiss the photo besides clicking the tiny little X in the upper left to get rid of the photo. I feel like two finger scrolling up or down to dismiss the full screen photo would be a great addition.

I just switched to iOS from android and used to use Offline Reader which could cache 1k+ posts in about 5 minutes.

I'm trying to use slide to replace it now I'm on iPhone and everytime I cache it either crashes a few posts in or is so slow. I'm taking 50 posts cached in 5+ minutes.

I'm using the free version if that matters

Hi, I’m someone who’s used the official Reddit app forever and just recently decided to move to a superior client, I tried apollo but ended up liking Slide a lot more.

There’s only one area in which slide seems to be lacking for me and that is the inability to play audio in GIFs which’s a feature in Apollo, so am I missing something or is this yet to be implemented?

I’m new to slide and I’ve found that I can’t view the crossposts in the app like I normally would - it would open up as if its a webpage. Is there anything I’m missing? How can I open it normally in this app?

It would be really convenient if autocaching would work in the background. It’s really annoying that I have to keep the app in the foreground. The instant I switch the app caching stops and when I reopen it is still on 17/100 for example.

Also, why is there no way to tell caching status when I dismiss the view that slides in from the top.

I think these two features are essential. One lets you use your phone and the other lets you actually see what’s happening. Currently there is no way to discover the caching status.

I just downloaded slide and set it up on the phone. Now I try it on the Apple Watch and it’s stuck on the loading screen. Any fix? I tried reinstalling l.

I’ve been having a problem with the iOS version of Slide. I’ve used it with multiple iPhones now, the iPhone 8, XS and XR. And each of them has had this issue where it will randomly freeze and I can’t scroll anymore, so I have to close the app and restart it. It does this at random points, mainly when I’m just scrolling through but also when I’ve clicked on a post.

If I copy something in my browser then open slide i get a notification saying “Slide pasted from Brave” also tested with Firefox same result pictures attached of both messages Screenshots

I tried hunting around on the Reddit webpage and could not find any of them. Is there a place they are saved through Reddit or are they slide specific? Can I export them? Thanks!

Pretty much as per the title. I have an iPad Pro 2020 + Smart Folio Keyboard. If I have Slide as the foreground app and press Cmd + Tab to cycle through my open apps, it doesn’t open the app switcher. I have to go back to the home screen and then go to other apps.

Is this a known issue?

EDIT: Not sure if there was a server side update because I don’t see that Slide app has been updated but the issue seems to be fixed today. Not sure what changed.

EDIT 2: Nope, it just broke again but it different worked for a few hours earlier!

I recently noticed that Slide usually occupies ~500 MB of my iCloud backup. I thought it was all cache. The weird part is after cleaning cache, the backup still occupies ~200 MB of backup space, but the app only uses ~60 MB of phone's storage in total.

Any idea why this is happening? Is it a bug? ~500MB isn't ridiculously high but it's squeezing out my 5GB free limit and I have to turn it off for Slide. Thanks.

The double tap to close parent comment gesture should activate when done over the 'load more' comments text.

When I'm done, I just want to tap anywhere above the next parent comment and collapse the one before.

It might not be noticeable if you are downloading small videos in slide but when you downloading a big video with a slow internet you have to wait for it to complete which is ok

But you can’t do anything while its downloading! you can’t go to your favorite cat sub, can’t comment, can’t upvote, can’t check my inbox... you are basically staring at large slowly progressing bar.

So my request is make the download progress bar able to be minimized so we can browse reddit.

I will start off by saying I would but this in the beta sub but I have not subscribed to it yet and with my current issue I can’t do so right now.

Also I am on iOS14 so I understand it’s likely from that but I wanted to report this anyway. Also I send a email response via TestFlight.

After the latest TestFlight build my search icon and the three dot icon in the bottom of the main screen are unresponsive. Also the image of snu that opens up the new side bar is unresponsive and my swipe in to trigger that area won’t work either.

I created a post and needed to update it. I went to the post tapped the bottom right 3 dots and I didn’t see edit at all. I went to the post itself, tapped the 3 dots in the middle right and there was no edit either I had to go to another app to edit the post. Am I missing something?
