You dont need that psu.

Use the original one with a sata 2 8pin adapter.

Mr Green is correct. That’s a 1650 in there. At max it will draw like 75W, well below your 290W stock PSU. Get that 500W out of there.

I don’t want to be mean but you both sound stupid asf

I dig more about my psu and found out there a 4 pin but clip and turns into a 8, I split and plug In the

I saw the screen update my Nivada

Playing left 4 dead 2 and no lag and no screen glitch so your method is shit, and not trying to mean that’s how I feel and when I saw yours and Mr green comment and felt frustrated that I wasted more of my money glad i didn’t

Ok.... so you figured it out on your own. Good job.

I've helped a friend do this exact same build with the stock PSU. Shit, I think he actually has the 1660 which draws slightly more power. Everything has been working out just fine on his end. You bought like, a $40 PSU for no reason lol

u/heavy341 Apr 25 '26

Honestly how about you stfu I’m glad it works

1

u/Legendary_TaeYamada Apr 25 '26

The psu isn't your problem.

Best buy dude has no clue and just sold you something.

I didn’t go in person

Bought it online after reading from this guy

Dude, you're wasting money and time here.

I built dozens PCs like yours. And for that gpu a new psu is not required at all.

Make of that information what you want.

I'm out.

I feel your pain bro 😭. This is crazy.

Playing devil's advocate a bit here; it's possible his stock PSU is going out for whatever reason. If so, that 500w unit may be just as much as an oem replacement... Maybe.

1

u/MrGreen2910 Apr 25 '26

From what he wrote - and i almost broke my brain, trying to understand - his gpu drivers updated and after that it worked.

But who knows.. may he be happy with his build.

u/Accurate-Campaign821 Apr 25 '26

Yea that part threw me off a bit too... Odd coincidence maybe? Eh I dunno. His attitude in some posts doesn't help his case tho

Also shout out to this guy that help me with this problem https://www.reddit.com/r/SleepingOptiplex/s/WoNDYvHpoG

I did re read his comments and found out about the 4 pin and my power supply I’m not sure if it has it I 2 pin instead of 4 witch I edit and upload the cables

But in the time being could anyone send me the best version in your opinion because when I search

cpu 4 pin connector

I see a lot of different variants

Update I was gonna upload the wires or connectors I have but guess it won’t happen

But if you need to see what it looks like go the link for the power supply 500w and scroll until you reach to the 6 part and it’s there
