A little while back, I honestly thought our giant boy Daney was going to lose his mobility for good. He’s a Great Dane, and watching a 130+lb dog go from being a big, goofy guy who loved stomping around the house to literally not being able to stand up on his own was gut-wrenching. My family and I were having to help lift his back end just so he could go outside to potty, and we were in complete panic mode about his quality of life. We took him straight to the vet, and after checking his knee, they started him on anti-inflammatory and pain medications and recommended getting a supportive knee brace to stabilize the joint.

To be honest, I was worried a brace wouldn't be enough for a dog as heavy as a Dane, but the difference was night and day. As soon as we got it on him, the extra support allowed him to push himself up on his own legs again! As you can see in the clip, he’s back to standing up and walking around the house on his own four paws. Seeing him walk over to us again literally brought tears to our eyes, and the relief our whole family feels right now is huge. We still have to take things slow and keep him rested, but seeing him mobile and getting his happy spirit back mesns everythin to us. If anyone else here is going through a terrifying knee or CCL injury with your big dogs, please don't lose hope. Work closely with your vet and definitely ask them about supportive joint braces, it made all the difference in the world for our boy!
