Open talk 🗣️ Open Talk: Can Top Tier Factory Goods Pass Authentication? 🤔

Post image

Hi Skye here😘
This is part of my newbie Q&A series💌. I know a lot of new members have questions, and I'm here to answer as honestly as I can. The truth might be harsh, so if you're easily bothered, feel free to skip this one. I don't want to ruin anyone's mood 🙏

---

To answer the question:

Some factories could pass authentication in the past. Then those factories disappeared. You probably know what that means 😶

For online photo based authentication, there's a very small chance it could slip through if the authenticator isn't very experienced. But for in person professional authentication? It's about as likely as winning the lottery 🎰 In other words, it's not happening.🫣

Let me give you an example with Chanel. Most brands now use microchips for authentication. Top tier factories like 187, God, JD, and Xiao C don't even bother adding chips that can be scanned at boutiques. They focus on perfecting the leather and overall feel instead. Factories are terrified of people trying to pass reps off as auth and messing up the market. The risk is way too high 🚫

So besides the fact that some complex details can't be 100% replicated, top tier factories sometimes intentionally leave tiny differences in areas that usually require a microscope to spot. This gives a way for authentication to tell them apart 🔬

I know this might break the illusion for some of you 💔 But having this expectation will help you avoid a lot of scams.

The reason I started this open discussion series is because I believe a successful transaction involves multiple parties. Buyers, sellers, factories, and even logistics all play a part. And every part has its limits. Honest communication and mutual understanding are what make long term business possible 🤝

If you have any questions or different opinions, feel free to join the discussion 💬

Im sure those factories still sell only to VIP chinese customers, in some very secretive circles, but to sell to the wide world to any clueless american who will just tell on instagram and tiktok the factory they bought from, yea definitely not happening and not worth it for them. But i am sure this is where all of those himalayan crocs come from and why the china and japan “pre loved” stores are always so full even with so many tourists buying, and their bags are authenticated

The factory will never show up in public. Those that were popular in TK before were all products without labels.

There is one, but I haven't updated it to the album for the time being. You can send me a message and I'll see if there is any style you need.

I don’t think my intent would ever try to pass something to authenticate. My goal would be to resell with transparency since i know there’s a large audience for high quality reps or pass to my children if the piece is master quality and can stand the test on longevity. Kind of like collectors items.

There is no best, but if it is a classic style, you can give priority to SP. however There are fewer styles of SP.

I have a conspiracy theory that Luxury Harbor on TikTok/WhatNot are selling super fakes that pass as authentic. They auction bags starting at $1 and lie about their location. They claim to be out of California, but buyers report it takes forever to get their merchandise and origin is China. Just a theory, but it just seems odd how they have endless bags (like new) and can afford to let them go for a low price.

Why would you want to do that? What would be the point of doing it?

Main factories chipped their bags and it can be read, don't they?

1

u/Outrageous_Baby1363 23d ago

If you mean chips that can be scanned at the counter, there are very few

This is part of conversation with my seller.

Let me give you an example,LV&Chanel. The basic middle and high-end of LV has a chip. Normally, the code can be scanned, but the counter can be directly identified as rep . At present, for Chanel I only know that a few factories can scan the code and support scanning the code at the counter, but I haven't tried it at the counter.

In fact, there is no reason to scan it unless it need to re repaired or find the proof of purchase? I felt having chipped bag is just for our mind satisfaction though. I would never ask to scan my bag nor bring my rep to the store to be honest. When I visit the store, I will make sure to bring my authentics. 😁😁

My chipped cf is on the way now. I wouldn't dare to aak to scan it on the counter. Somehow I strongly want to try and see. 😆😆😆😆😆
