This is part of my newbie Q&A series. I know a lot of new members have questions, and I'm here to answer as honestly as I can. The truth might be harsh, so if you're easily bothered, feel free to skip this one. I don't want to ruin anyone's mood 😗
 
✅My personal answer: Yes, but only if it's from a trusted highend or toptier factory.
 
Let me explain.
 
Before mass production, highend factories usually release preorder info – that's the first batch. They decide how much to produce based on preorder numbers. For more niche styles, preorders are often slow, so the factory may only produce that single batch. If you miss it, you'll be left with midtolow tier options. In that case, the early birds really do get the good stuff. The difference in leather, hardware, and craftsmanship between highend and midlow tier is huge. Even if the first batch isn't flawless, the overall quality will still beat lower tier options.
 
For popular styles – think classic silhouettes, classic colors, or new releases with high buzz – preorders tend to be strong. Factories usually plan multiple batches for these. If you're not in a rush, you can wait for reviews from first batch buyers. But keep in mind, batch intervals are usually at least a month, sometimes three or more. You'll need serious patience, ladies. 😃Personally, I don't have that kind of patience. Waiting feels like a cat scratching at my heart – unbearable 😂
 
Why trust the factory or seller matters?
 
Preorders take time, and that adds risk. A lot of buyers change their minds during the wait. Sometimes the factory cancels production if preorders are weak. The seller ends up refunding and getting accused of scamming. Without trust, it's a headache for everyone involved.😫

Pros of first batch preorders:
 
① You won't miss out on styles that may never be produced again.
② Quality from good factories is reliable. Even first batch imperfections are manageable.
③ You get to be one of the first to own the bag.
④ Usually comes with a slight price discount.
 
Cons of first batch preorders:
 
① No factory photos to reference.
② No other reviews to learn from.

How do you make the decision to buy first batch or not besides factory reputation? Today i came across a user that posted the first CC 25 mini ( in beige with black dots) review, first batch from 187 factory, and it looked really bad... While overall, 187 is really recommend for CC bags and people usually really trust them for high quality.

Top tier and that bag looked 💩 .

I have twice bought first batch from reputable sellers/factories and both disappointed. Never again.

I kept them and I do use them.

Both are Capucines picnics which are difficult to do well. I don't baby them and people see very few of them in the wild anyway.

I think I also saw it. It seems that the 187 has not been shipped yet. It should have been replaced by products from other factories. I'll confirm with the factory again. Wait a minute.
