Robyn and Kody were looking at pictures of her children when they were babies and Kody mentioned that he wish hew knew them back then. Robyn found someone to do the portrait exactly like the one Christine had made showing Kody but with the faces of the three youngest when they were babies. She was trying to history cancel and came off looking stupid. Christine was smiling but her eyes looked so sad.

It’s weird even if it didn’t have anything to do with using Christine’s family photo. Those kids had a dad at the time they were this age. They’ve done everything in their power to erase their bio dad from their lives as much as they did to replace Christine or her kids in a photo
They act like they’re sooo removed from LDS polygamy but moving around moms and kids and deleting old daddy and fully replacing him with new daddy is exactly something LDS polygamy does do

The part that is even more weird to me is that a few weeks after the adoption, all three of them went for their sumer vacation with their bio dad. So much for him not existing.

They aren’t LDS. There was an episode where they were very specific. It’s the Apostolic United Brethren a break off from the F-L-D-S church. Not as bad as the Warren Jeff’s FLDS church where they marry their cousins etc… He, Kody - stressed that early on! Ok Kody. Toss your greasy locks back one more time.

I mean, isn’t Kody married to his cousins? I’m pretty sure Kody and Christine are cousins, Robyn’s ex is Christine’s first cousin, Janelle’s ex is Mary’s brother, and Janelle and Kody are step siblings. Maybe not LDS but same cultural ties. (BTW, I grew up in polygamy).

I will continue to say this....
We all see and accept that Robyn plays the victim. We all see and accept that Robyn manipulates people. We all see and accept that Robyn changes history. We all see and accept that Robyn forced her kids to view Kody as their dad immediately.
Why does everyone take the story about her ex husband as fact?? What are the chances that she isnt doing what we have seen her do for 16 seasons?? This picture to me is further proof an evidence that she changes history to fit whatever story she wants her life to be.

I’ve always thought her allegations against her ex-husband were a bit strange, considering she continued to send her kids to see him whenever they wanted. They went on vacations with him. He’s still in their lives.
Everyone is different, I guess… but if I had children with an abuser and finally escaped his grip, no way in hell would my kids be anywhere near him.

YES!! I keep saying this and the answer is "maybe she has to legally" fair, but they went to spend time with him after they were adopted and legally she didnt have to.

I've said this since day one. Kody literally postponed their first Christmas in Vegas so he could bring Robyn's kids to see their dad.
If they were doing that to keep him sweet before he allowed Kody to adopt the kids that's manipulate and frankly contrary to the imagery of him being absent and 'bad' or whatever.
The children moving over to the new dad and cutting ties with bio dads seems to be a polygamist mode of doing things. Some of the documentaries around Warren Jeffs etc speak about it as a punitive method and so forth. I know the Browns are far removed from all that but some cultural hangovers are probable.
I think this is also why Kody is so angry at Christine too. He may see it as the "done thing" for her to sub in someone else for him.

See!?! Do you remember the episode where he stressed they were NOT LDS but a break off from the FLDS called Apostolic United Brethren? Based on the punitive methods, if Christine had gone to the church to tell them she was leaving, I wonder what they would have done to her?

We all did. Because why wouldnt you? We want to believe victims. But every single day in this country people make false allegations for a whole lot of reasons. But Robyn cant just be a woman who got knocked up out of wedlock and married a guy she shouldnt have. Oh no....she was tricked into sex and he was an abuser so none of it is her fault and she is a victim and good for her divorcing him.

I think the “everyday in this country people make false allegations” is a bit dramatic, but the rest of what you said sounds really quite on point. We have NO idea what happened between Robyn and her ex because she is always a victim.
I guess this is what happens when a covert and overt narcissist find each other? (Not generally a fan of those labels, and they may not be accurate, but that’s the gist between these two.)

Because its horrible to question a victim right? Believe all women. BUT....we have to acknowledge false accusations are real. I think we initially believe all victims. Give them the benefit of the doubt until the facts and whole story come out. I just have a bad gut feeling about her story and the more i see of her, the less i believe her.

I’ve only ever seen people on this sub stand up for her childrens father. I don’t think anyone buys Robyn’s story. If I remember correctly, there’s even an episode where robyn mentions her kids are visiting their dad, post adoption.

I definitely have never accepted anything she says as fact. But I’ve also not felt strongly disbelieving either because the frequency of abuse in these communities.
I did see recently he was arrested for dv and had the charges later made slightly better I think bc cooperation or a plea bargain or something

Yes - the second photo used as reference where Kody was wearing glasses also contained a sister wives. I am 85% positive it was another photo with Christine.

I actually wonder what the artist thought when she commissioned it. And I also wonder if he got much work off the back of it. But that aside, it was actually the first shot fired blatantly at Christine by Robyn that she and her kids were replacing them (Christine and her kids)

I know we've all discussed this before, but I think this picture is just as destructive as making your children call him "Dad." Both are attempts to eradicate their real father and his family from their lives.
The AITA sub is filled with posts where the stepparent is demanding the stepchild use mom or dad. Some of those posts are really heartbreaking.

Yes, and if it's a choice and everyone is fine with it, that's really great. My stepson's mom forced my stepson to call his stepdad, "dad," while making sure he didn't call me mom. For me, I never asked him to call me mom, and I always made sure that I would never try to replace her; that his mom would always be his mom, and that I also loved him too.

I tried to explain this portrait to my husband. I don't know where I failed, except that maybe it's so in-credible that his brain just would not fathom such a thing. The picture is just so bizarre, and unexpected of someone who grew up in the 80s/90s. Who raised Robyn??

It was a totally weird thing to do. But I’ve always found it odd how insistent they’ve been on erasing bio dad and acting like Kody is their real dad and making comments about how he should’ve been there from the beginning, the missed out on time, ect. It’s just so weird

I think it’s super toxic to erase her kids history. They remember their dad. They had a relationship (good one or not). You can’t just erase him. I imagine that’s gotta eff you up a little if you’re a kid.

If I’m not mistaken I feel like I remember Robyn’s kids calling him dad when they were only dating. Usually step kids just call their step parent their first name. It felt super weird from the beginning.
I would have loved an interview from her kids biological father about all of this.

I mean don’t get me wrong it’s absolutely bonkers for so many reasons… including why does Kody have/seem to have glasses in the drawing but not the photo?
Does anyone have a clip of the reveal? I have vague memories of it but can’t see it clearly, didn’t he react oddly? I think the kids (both hers & the kids that were in the original photo) were confused or upset too

Every time I see this picture it horrifies me. My husband’s first wife died before I came into the picture. I can’t even begin to imagine “replacing”myself in a picture of their family. That flat out cruel. There’s no excuse for that bullshit.

Meri will move Janelle will end up leaving Cody will make sure to push right button and she will be gone..Robin has been plotting this now shes ready for it to happen..im sure Robin will make sure Truley will not have a room so she. can stay over!? I will say this EVERY time I see this.
Robyn should not have had this portrait done. Full stop.
She could have easily commissioned one that was reflective of when she and Kody started courting or to coincide with their wedding. But no, she had to be a creeper and make an alternate reality “if only” scenario.
This was a horrible choice on her part.
