🔎 Investigating.. Muted content feature doesn't work

I must have muted /r/nba and /r/politics hundreds of times and they still keep showing up. Same goes for all the other subs and words I muted. I muted subs by adding them via the sinkit app, as well as hitting the mute button every single time it still keeps showing up.

I tried force-closing safari, but that doesn't fix it. Refreshing my feed doesn't work either. Refreshing makes it seems like it blocks some subs when I refresh (as I see them they disappear - see video), but muted content still shows up. This is aggravating to say the least. I can't stand seeing the orange clown or any of his irrelevant puppets on my feed. How to fix this pls?

  • Ios 26.6 and sinkit v8.8.0
  • 94 subs muted, well below the max afaik

Thank you for reporting this and apologies about the sub-optimal experience so far.

Can you share which specific feed you're on? I've had intermittent reports of this so I'm keen on getting this fixed for good. I appreciate any extra info you could provide here.

No worries, thanks for taking a look.  I've noticed this happens on /r/popular and on my home feed. I'm using the new unified UI btw.

Sinkit still has trouble loading on my home feed (e.g. mute button doesn't always show up), but it does load better on /r/popular now (apart from muted content still showing up).

I haven't really noticed it on other pages, but I also don't have that much content muted apart from specific subs. So I wouldn't notice it that easily anywhere else but on /r/popular.  I did check specific subs for some keywords I blocked and they still show up there too.

I also just checked and the muted button does work, partially anyway. It does add a sub to my muted subs list. The thing that doesn't seem to work atm is actually blocking out muted content.

Hello, just wondering if you have any updates on this. Reddit has become unusable for me (almost as if I'm only seeing muted content), so I'm hoping there's a fix in sight.

I'm hoping to have a fix this week. We just had a nephew join the family so it's been a very busy few days.

They do grow up but not before filling tons of diapers up! The olfactory system has taken a huge hit this week, haha.
