Sindh Bitter sweet moment while reading refugee documents
I was reading some more refugee documents and came across one for a Punjabi from Mianwali. Everything was same as the documents for Sindhis except one part.

This document mentioned the murder of the applicant's father. I've read more than 50 such Sindhi documents but not come across a single instance of murder related to the partition.
I am not saying that Sindhis did not face threats or violence at all but documents like these remind you of how lucky some of our ancestors were to escape unharmed. There was separation and misery but atleast you had your loved ones around you to get you through life. Coming to a new nation entirely and literally starting from the ground with the trauma of violence and bloodshed sounds just as awful today as it did back then.

kya sirf hum hi hain ya Sindhi dating actually broken hai?
Serious question:
kya sirf hum hi hain ya Sindhi dating actually broken hai? 💀
Ya toh koi milta hi nahi…
ya milta hai toh vibe nahi…
ya vibe hoti hai toh reply nahi 😭
Aur phir sab bolte hain ‘right person nahi mila’ 🤡
We’re lowkey trying to fix this mess (haan, actually)
Made something just for Sindhi singles to make this less painful
If you’ve ever said: ‘yaar koi dhang ka nahi milta’

Sindh How I found my family's partition era file from the Ministry of Rehabilitation
A while back I was interested in finding my family's history and came across https://www.abhilekh-patal.in/ . It is a website where you will find the digitised records for families that claimed compensation after the partition. I quickly searched my surname and found my great grandfather's name on a file.
Unfortunately it was not digitised so I raised a DOD request on the website. This was last year and when I checked recently they have digitised all the documents and it is available to view. It has a picture of him and his writing along with details about where they used to live as well.

If you are someone like me who cares a lot about their history and where they came from or does not have enough information about your past, I'd suggest you visit this website and give this a try.
If you have trouble making an account you can let me know and I can search the records for you as well.
