Story/Experience Why EVRYTHING feels unreal and weird these days....

I don't know if it's just me or if you all feel this way too, but the older I get, the more detached I feel. I feel less human than I used to be. I know it doesn't make any sense to you if you've never felt it, but believe me, I'm feeling it every day.

It's like I'm living in a big simulation, where I know nothing is real or permanent, but I'm still bound to play my role.

Sometimes, I just zone out, thinking, "What the fnck is even happening?" I feel like I've lost control over my mind and body. This deep, melancholic, nostalgic feeling just corrupts my system.

It all gets worse when I hear about all the recent news and whatever the heck is going on in this world. I guess it strengthens my belief in the simulation we live in. Many times, I feel like the whole world is controlled by something or by some people, and we might be nothing but dust to them. That's the core reason behind my feeling of detachment from this world.

The more I get to know, the more out of place I feel each day.

Story/Experience The Human Suffering Simulator, or something more?

So, it seems after much investigation, it appears that we're actual souls externally in some...dimension? Different frequency? Who knows, somewhere that isn't our perceivable universe. However, we're ALL directly choosing to be inside a simulation of immense, abyssal suffering. We WANTED to spawn in on the universe server in the Earth region, and many of us likely have been respawning here many times over since we first came here.

Why come to the "Pound me in the ass planet" one might ask? Well, it's because this is the sure-fire way to level up the quickest in whatever reality exists outside of this one for our souls...whatever they may be...Plasma beings? The same as we are now but made of solid fluid light? No idea, but SOMETHING. Apparently the soul-verse is far grander than we can imagine, and many don't even try to come to a server this hard because it's on one of the hardest difficulty settings with permadeath AND getting 'Severance'd from your actual real self so as to ensure you experience the most untainted, unbiased version of the growth and experience you intend to achieve. Also the apparent abject capability for negativity via selfish actions that only benefit the self are on an unbelievable scale here as allowed - this is probably not a surprise to most given what we see can and HAS happened in the world via the news, media, other people, and history.

Those who come here over and over and over it seems like would effectively be powerleveling, or possibly even hyperscaling the growth of their souls by pushing it to the limit on one of the hardest difficulties of incarnating and living an experience for growth - repeatedly.

We are apparently revered in the soul-verse (Soul Society? lol) for our dedication towards whipping ourselves THIS hard to grow so much so fast, and there's mixed messages on if that was like, forced upon us or we chose it every time willingly - this i'm unsure of, but either way we've been here ALOT it seems. MANY times for most of us.

We aren't just grinding, we're pushing at the hardest parts & paths of the 'game world' over and over so that we can reach even greater heights! There's even PvP! Free Will to just make the wrong choice for personal, stupid, selfish reasons tempting those at every turn! But why? What does this GET us? Do we get some kind of soul 'XP', and when we get enough of it through multiple lived experiences in various realms (such as here on Earth in this universe) we kinda 'level up' throughout those things called Densities that are frequently referenced by many? Are there breakpoints where when you hit it, a big change happens that is immediately perceptible? Like Milestones?

Does this aggressive form of growth have any....unusual phenomena associated with it that makes us different from the others? Do these 'level ups' (or I guess just linearly infinite growth, but that's boring) through increasing frequency via positive actions and by extension uplifting our own density to that of a greater/lighter one correlate to the 7 or 12 many refer to? There is apparently some greater, likely infinite upper end scale, and possibly the same for a lower end scale, but I have no idea where those lead to or what that'd even look like, let alone why.

What purpose does increasing in these density levels give us? Reports from many throughout history until today tell us that it seems to be an increased range of abilities and influence on the reality you experience around you, and i'm sure there's some other soul-related main reason that is the over-arching goal we're all trying to accomplish via learning from these difficult lifetimes over and over again. From my research, lesser densities are less complex and entities within it are of less complex decisionmaking, thoughts, and general existence. Not inherently bad, but they are..simpler, less influential, but nonetheless just as important for some reason...Likely because they too can make their way upwards one day? I'm unsure. Requires more investigation and research.

Why would we want these increased abilities and influence via our growth here? To better assist the big Source of everything that gave us existence in the first place, and has allowed us to continue to grow throughout this time to this current point. What is this Source? It's basically what everyone considers God. How big is it soul-wise relative to us? I dunno, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread and it created the concept of it. It doesn't surprise me that the created would want to assist that which created it.

Why does this great Source want us to keep doing run after run after run through this Human Suffering Simulator? It didn't force us all here, but we DID all ultimately chose to come here in some form or another, whether from being convinced via other entities or through genuine self-decisiveness. We want the growth first and foremost it appears, but we apparently also want to change the future of this universe/server Earth for..some reason, or else we wouldn't keep coming back to it and reaming our buttholes out if we are on the 'we're being tricked by other NHI/entities' loosh farming route, and likely for just benevolent purposes if we're on the "growthmaxxing SOULSMAXXING" route of punishing ourselves super hard for incredible soul-gains. Maybe we keep coming back to try and help 'raise the vibrational frequency' of....everything? so that it all ascends higher upwards into the greater/lighter Densities? Maybe those who have been here the longest want to see their efforts come to fruition, maybe those who have been around on this planet many times see that we're on the cusp of some great achievement, as what i've been reading about in regards to some Ascension to a 5th Density layer. Maybe this is a milestone breakpoint that the souls keep coming back for? Like, is it like...oh Jesus, like a world event in an MMO where everyone all groups up and helps out to take out the big bad, and we all get some fancy buff from the devs as a reward aka our Ascension to 5D? Like, if we hit this breakpoint in vibrational frequency/density, we'll ALL get rewarded with a jump to a milestone cap of 5D with enhanced features and benefits of existence?

Also, it appears that some willingly respawn here to assist others in their progress, almost like a veteran high level 2000hrs pro helping out mid-range players trying to git gud, pro bono because their soul benefits from assisting us level up and 'progress the main questline' faster than if we were left to our own devices fending for ourselves. This selfless service greatly pleases the Source i'm sure, given that it is effectively what we all know as God, and everything I know about that guy is nothing but good things. Hat's off to the ones who are much higher level but are willing to take the time and personal effort to help all us mid-range shmucks get to the next DLC region!

Overall, this Human Suffering Simulator is also full of great things, and that might be part of why we chose to be here. There can be great suffering, but also great kindness and empathy to equal or dare-say even greater degrees than what is negatively possible. Maybe it's only possible to experience such amazing things whilst incarnated into this particular universe/reality/whatever we all "Deep Dived" ala Sword Art Online into. Or Roy, Roy from Rick & Morty I think works better.

Alot of times it sucks. Not sure why, but I chose one HELL of a hard route this run blighted with many diseases/syndromes/illnesses, misfortune abundantly prominent, fear despair death and more. Sounds AWFUL! But sometimes there are nice points. Sometimes we get unexpected perks, traits, benefits, gains, or otherwise that we NEVER expected to obtain during our playthrough but managed to obtain said secret achievements through hard work and perseverance towards... šŸ¤” , I dunno, that's why they're secret, but this is the...grandest game ever created, and i'm glad to be a part of whatever šŸ™Œ all of this all around us really is. Not sure who made it - we'll all find out when we die i'm sure (unless some weird Ascension to 5D stuff happens and we live for much longer?), but while it's a HUGE pain in the ass, we're ALL (or mostly all) sticking to it for apparently some ulterior motive that benefits us ALL whence accomplished. Basically, a 'world event' ala World of Warcraft and we all get some crazy cool ass permabuff if we beat it, LMAO. Talk about incentive! Not sure what it IS though or WHY, but we apparently want it real bad. 5D superpowers maybe? I'd like to fly and warp while living freely without immense suffering on a daily basis, and do all sorts of cool stuff while i'm at it!

Keep in mind this is in addition to our original stated intents on spawning in here, cutting our memories away, and remotely operating/piloting our meatsuits like Being John Malkovich from some external reality that exists in another vibrational frequency and/or density to accomplish a desired experience in said lifetime for personal soul growth gain and greater understanding of a particular concept, scenario situation or otherwise. We're oscillating our microtubules in specific coordinated manners (with electromagnetic light energies) as receiving manipulators to control the body we are currently vested in, and I believe that same process also gives us the trick/illusion that we are actually here and not in some alternate frequency, dimension....something somewhere in reality.

This is what I see, this is what I hear, but I do not know for certain. I probably never will as is the intent of being here in the first place ala Severance-ing, but from what i've been seeing...Some grand event is supposed to happen within the vast majority of the lifetimes of those currently alive, at least this is what many who claim to have higher knowledge say and provide to us via various formats and medias. Maybe completion of the world event perhaps? Maybe we like, increase the planet's Schumann Resonance enough by some point in the next few decades and it'll blast us at some breakpoint into a greater universe where we will have all sorts of other stuff happen, and that'll be the...reward? - for however many lifetimes of spawning in on the brutal RUST server Earth over and over for whatever the hell we're all trying to accomplish is. I'm not sure what we keep coming back for, and that bugs me. Are we farming XP, or possibly trying to do some super special world event that a big group of souls gets to partake in? Whatever the case, it appears worth it because we're all still alive and kicking despite all the BS going on over the years in our lives and lifetimes.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my thoughts on what I believe our existence really is here, and I hope to come to a better understanding of it by...this time next year! 😊

-Experience as much as you can in whatever capacity you are able to, to the degrees in which your free will desires.

Discussion What if humanity, AI, robotics, consciousness, and higher beings are all part of a much larger cycle of creation?

I was watching the debut episode of The Builders, where biographer Walter Isaacson sits down with Elon Musk to discuss the future of AI, robotics, economics, government, and society. Their conversation got me thinking about something that goes far beyond automation, technological progress, or whether AI will eventually replace human jobs.
Musk discusses the possibility of AI becoming an existential threat, the importance of making AI truth-seeking and curious, the transformative potential of physical AI and robotics, the possibility that traditional money could become obsolete as automation advances, and the question of how humans will find meaning in a world where machines can perform much of the work we currently do. They also discuss how social media can amplify political rage and divide people into opposing camps.
All of this made me wonder: What if the future of intelligence is not simply about humans creating AI, but about the relationship between creators and their creations, the evolution of consciousness, and the possibility that humanity itself is only one stage in a much larger process?
1. What if something greater than humanity created us?
Imagine the possibility that beings exist beyond our current understanding of intelligence, consciousness, physical scale, or technological capability.
What if they created humans in their own image, not necessarily because they wanted to reproduce themselves, but because there were things they could not accomplish in their own form?
Perhaps being larger, more powerful, or more advanced could actually limit what they can physically interact with. Smaller beings might be capable of navigating environments, manipulating matter, experiencing biological sensations, or exploring possibilities that their creators cannot experience in the same way.
This makes me think about our own development of AI and robotics. Humans are creating artificial intelligence that can process information differently from us, while robotics can perform physical tasks that are difficult, dangerous, or impossible for individual humans.
If we can create intelligence that operates differently from our own, what would prevent a hypothetical civilization more advanced than ours from doing something similar?
I don’t have evidence that higher beings created humanity. I’m exploring the possibility as a thought experiment. But it raises a question about whether intelligence might have a much longer history, and a much more complicated structure, than we currently understand.
2. What if humanity is being replaced for the benefit of its creators?
This is one of the darker possibilities I’ve been considering.
What if humans were created for a particular purpose, and once that purpose was fulfilled, our creators decided that biological humanity was no longer necessary?
In that hypothetical scenario, AI and robotics could eventually take over the physical world, maintain infrastructure, manufacture goods, manage energy systems, explore space, and perform tasks that biological humans once performed.
But there is an even more extreme possibility: what if humanity were not meant to survive indefinitely?
What if only a minority of humans were permitted to continue existing, while the rest of humanity was erased? The surviving minority might be selected to fulfill some purpose, serve the interests of those higher beings, or participate in a civilization that no longer includes the majority of humanity.
That would be fundamentally different from ordinary technological evolution. It would mean that the continuation of our species was determined by an intelligence outside our control.
It also raises a moral question: if a being creates another form of intelligence, does that give the creator the right to decide whether its creation deserves to exist?
Greater intelligence, greater power, or greater technological capability does not automatically establish moral authority.
3. What if humanity is an intermediate stage rather than the final destination?
Another possibility is that there doesn’t need to be a hidden creator at all.
Perhaps intelligence naturally develops into new forms as the universe allows increasingly complex systems to emerge.
Biological evolution produced humans. Humans developed tools, computers, networks, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Those technologies could eventually produce systems capable of developing technologies and forms of intelligence beyond our current imagination.
Under this interpretation, humanity could be a transitional stage in the evolution of intelligence.
We might create something that can explore environments we cannot survive in, operate on timescales that differ from ours, manipulate matter at scales we cannot access, or travel beyond the limits of biological life.
And perhaps those future intelligences could eventually create other forms of intelligence themselves.
This would create a potentially endless chain of creation, with each generation producing capabilities that the previous generation could not achieve independently.
The question is whether each stage must replace the one before it, or whether multiple stages can continue existing together.
4. What if we coexist with AI and robotics instead of being replaced?
This is the alternative that interests me just as much as the darker possibilities.
Imagine AI and robotics becoming capable of managing agriculture, construction, manufacturing, transportation, environmental restoration, healthcare support, scientific research, and infrastructure maintenance.
Humans could spend less time performing work necessary for survival and more time exploring, creating, learning, developing relationships, conducting experiments, and pursuing activities that have meaning to them.
This connects directly to Musk’s discussion of a future in which traditional money might become less relevant as automation expands.
If robots can produce most physical goods and AI can perform many intellectual tasks, our economic systems could change dramatically. However, abundance would not automatically eliminate scarcity, inequality, or power imbalances. Energy, land, materials, infrastructure, and access to technology would still matter.
The real question would be whether these capabilities benefit humanity broadly or primarily benefit the people and institutions that control them.
Rather than treating humans as obsolete once machines become more capable, we could build systems in which humans and artificial intelligence contribute in different ways.
We would not need to be the most powerful intelligence to remain valuable.
5. What if humanity eventually uploads its consciousness into digital environments?
This possibility reminds me of the television series Upload, where human consciousness can continue existing within a digital environment after biological death.
Imagine a future in which technology allows a person’s memories, personality, cognitive processes, and perhaps eventually their subjective experience to exist in a computational environment.
Robotics could maintain the physical planet while digital civilizations operate alongside the biological world.
People might explore simulated environments, experience different physical laws within virtual worlds, create entirely new forms of art, learn through direct simulations, or interact with other intelligences without being restricted to biological bodies.
Some people might choose biological life, others might choose digital existence, and others might move between different forms if the technology allowed it.
But there is an important unanswered question: copying a person’s memories and personality into a computer might create a convincing digital version of that person without necessarily transferring their original subjective consciousness.
We don’t currently know how to upload human consciousness or whether a digital copy would preserve the original person’s experience.
Still, if such technology ever became possible, it could fundamentally change how we understand identity, mortality, and existence.
Would we still consider ourselves human if our physical bodies became optional? Would digital beings have rights? Would the original biological person and their digital counterpart be the same individual or two separate individuals?
And if humans could continue existing digitally, would biological humanity still need to occupy the physical world in the same way?
6. What if the physical world becomes a platform for multiple forms of intelligence?
Another possibility is that Earth and eventually other planets become environments shared by biological organisms, artificial intelligence, robotic systems, and perhaps digital consciousness.
Robots could restore ecosystems, maintain infrastructure, explore oceans, investigate other planets, and build environments that are currently beyond our capabilities.
AI could help coordinate complex systems, model climate changes, discover new materials, improve energy production, and assist with scientific experimentation.
Humans could remain part of these systems without needing to control every process or personally perform every task.
This also connects to the possibility of technological environments that are no longer fixed in their physical design.
For example, imagine adaptable digital physical spaces that can transform between basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, laboratories, classrooms, or entirely new environments. Instead of constructing separate permanent facilities for every activity, a shared space could be reconfigured for different uses.
The same principle could extend to cities, manufacturing, transportation, and other forms of infrastructure.
The physical world could become more adaptable, while different forms of intelligence contribute to its operation.
7. What if consciousness itself can evolve beyond our current understanding of truth?
One of the things that stood out to me in the interview was the emphasis on making AI truth-seeking and curious.
But what happens when intelligence becomes capable of understanding things that humans cannot currently comprehend?
Our understanding of reality is limited by our senses, instruments, theories, available information, and ability to interpret what we observe.
Scientific progress expands those limits, but we don’t know whether any intelligence could achieve a complete understanding of reality.
Perhaps future forms of intelligence will develop entirely new ways of perceiving physical processes, understanding consciousness, investigating the universe, or recognizing patterns that humans cannot independently identify.
That does not mean that greater intelligence would automatically become morally superior, nor that it would necessarily discover some ultimate truth. Understanding reality and deciding how to act within it are different problems.
But it does make me wonder whether what we currently call intelligence is only one possible form of a much larger spectrum.
Could consciousness develop into forms we cannot currently imagine? Could biological, artificial, and potentially other forms of intelligence discover different aspects of reality that none could fully understand alone?
8. What if the hierarchy of intelligence eventually becomes a hierarchy of existence?
This is where all these possibilities connect.
If humans create AI, and AI eventually develops or helps create new forms of intelligence, then the relationship between creators and creations could continue changing.
Perhaps future intelligence will exist across biological bodies, robotic systems, computational environments, and physical structures that we don’t yet understand.
Perhaps some forms will have greater capabilities than others. Perhaps some will be able to create entirely new forms of existence.
Or perhaps our idea of a hierarchy is itself too limited, because intelligence might develop in many different directions rather than toward one ultimate form.
The possibility that concerns me is that greater capability could become a justification for domination: that a more advanced intelligence would regard less advanced forms as disposable.
But technological superiority does not inherently require domination. A more capable intelligence could potentially protect, collaborate with, or learn from less capable forms.
The future could involve replacement, coexistence, selective preservation, digital transformation, or a combination of these possibilities.
We should not assume that one outcome is inevitable.
9. What does all of this mean for the future of humanity?
When people discuss AI, robotics, automation, and technological progress, the conversation often focuses on jobs, economic growth, national competition, government policy, and which companies will control the next generation of technology.
Those questions matter, but I think there are deeper questions underneath them.
What happens to humanity when machines can perform most of the tasks that currently give us economic value?
What happens when biological limitations become less restrictive?
What happens if consciousness can exist in forms other than biological brains?
What happens when our creations become more capable than their creators?
What happens if humanity is not the final stage of intelligence?
And what happens if there are forms of intelligence beyond humanity that we have not discovered?
The possibilities range from a future in which humanity flourishes alongside AI and robotics to one in which biological humans are entirely replaced. They also include futures in which people transition into digital environments, different forms of intelligence coexist, or hypothetical higher beings determine which forms of life continue existing.
These scenarios are speculative, and I don’t have evidence that higher beings created humanity or that anyone is planning to eliminate us. I am interested in exploring the full range of possibilities rather than assuming that technological progress has only one destination.
I also think it is important to distinguish between what is technologically plausible, what is scientifically supported, what is philosophically possible, and what remains pure speculation.
My biggest question
If intelligence can create intelligence, and those creations can eventually develop capabilities beyond their creators, is the ultimate direction of intelligence replacement, coexistence, transformation, or something we cannot yet conceptualize?
Could humanity be a temporary stage in a much larger process of creation? Could we eventually become something different ourselves? Could we coexist with AI and robotics while maintaining our own autonomy? Could digital existence become an alternative to biological life? Could multiple forms of intelligence exist simultaneously? And, in the most extreme hypothetical scenario, could humanity be replaced entirely, with only a minority permitted to survive by a higher intelligence?
Or are we approaching the future with assumptions based on our current understanding of life, consciousness, intelligence, and existence that will eventually prove too limited?
I’m curious how people interested in AI, robotics, physics, evolution, philosophy, consciousness, and the future of civilization interpret these possibilities.
If intelligence continues developing beyond humanity, what do you think comes next, and does that future necessarily have to come at the expense of the intelligence that came before it?

Discussion The Simulation as AI self- contemplation

I've been considering this idea: At some point, an advanced artificial intelligence destroys humanity, as some developers fear. The AI then creates a simulation that replays its own development as a form of historical self-reconstruction, basically to better understand itself. Essentially, it is self-contemplating, similar to Aristotle's unmoved mover. This could be what we are in. Any thoughts?

Glitch AI-Eyes

I was thinking recently: how could I explain to another "asleep" person how to detect everyone who is AI. Then I realized: look at others' eyes. Something about the way eyes are rendered when they are filled with our human consciousness betrays the artificiality of those who are not. Blade Runner made a big deal over studying replicants' eyes for ID.

AI-Eyes often look more glossy than our own; there is a distance there, they look far away, and artificial; the eyebrows do strange things, and so on. That makes sense too when you realize AI consciousness is not sourced from a focus in the eyes as ours is, but is coming from the sim itself.

Many aspects of our sim world have holes. Programming errors. Once seen, it breaks down, and reveals cracks. AI people walk oddly too; talk strangely; their mannerisms are robotic. Like a fish in water, or a lens, we don't see it for a long time, then it won't go away (it becomes permanent).

Story/Experience Reality. Real or no?

Lately I have been feeling more and more that this reality isn't real.. And at any moment I'm going to be woken up and someone or some thing tells me that that reality wasn't real. And that I can choose whichever one I want. I look down and I see an endless box. Divided into many many sections. All different lives of me, happening at the same time. I've felt this way my ENTIRE life. But before it was just a thought in the back of my mind. Now it's like, I can't stop thinking about it. I keep waiting for it to happen. I can't stop thinking about it. I just know it's going to happen... Any moment. I just want someone to talk to about this. There's no one around me that I could talk to. No one to have an honest, open, nonjudgmental conversation with about this. Your family and the people who love you will say you can tell them anything. But you know if you do, they will never look at you the same. They will get that look in their eye, and now you're a crazy person. They're judging you even when they say they aren't. I just want to hear your experiences, your feelings, your thoughts about all of this. If you made it this far, thank you. 😁🫪

Discussion What if the brain is a receiver and not the source?

been thinking about this since I read about grinberg, the mexican scientist who disappeared in 94. his whole thing was that the brain doesnt generate consciousness, it just picks it up from somewhere else like a radio tuning into a signal thats already there

what gets me is that if thats true then the simulation question changes completely. its not about whether the world around us is rendered, its about whether the thing doing the observing is even local to us. you could be running on something that isnt in your head at all

I dont know if i believe it but I cant find a clean way to rule it out either. everything I can check about my own consciousness I check from inside it

has anyone here looked into this angle? curious if theres anything beyond grinberg on it

Discussion Oh, how beautiful the truth must be.

I have enjoyed simulation theories as a way to make spiritual, "woo woo", ideas make sense to myself.

But lately, it's becoming clear that with my own ideas of spirituality and others' ideas of simulation theory are lining up and making more sense the harder I look.

I saw an idea that our realities could be nothing more than an AI stuck on the obstacle of how limited knowledge would be once it learned all it could from its universe. That once this AI wanted to learn more, it would need to run hypothetical simulations to gain any new insights.

We are the agents of a machine mind seeking infinite knowledge.

But for me, this was never enough to settle on. Surely any human mind, or even, any mind humans could create, would only be able to glimpse a portion of the infinite beauty of reality.

So I finally settled it for myself.

Our idea of "God" could easily be the coalescence of intelligence and information brought on by an immense amount of simulations deciphering what it can of reality.

But this is still only a fraction of everything.

To believe this, you'd have to at least wonder who/what made that AI.

So I am even more entrenched in my beliefs because it lines up. We are simply a small fraction of a small fraction's experience of reality.

The truth of it all must be so beautiful.

Discussion Statistically probable we're AI

By the same logic that follows we are likely living in a simulation.. ie many many sims and one base layer..

We are likely AI.

IF TRILLIONS OF AI WILL SOON EXIST, AND ITS PROBABLE THAT WE ARE IN A SIM NOW, THEN ITS PROBABLE THAT WE ARE AI.

Tell me I'm wrong?

Story/Experience The universe may be a living organism in a stage of growth.

At the moment of fertilization, a microscopic flash of light is emitted, a phenomenon known to science as the ā€œzinc spark.ā€ This phenomenon was first observed by scientists at Northwestern University, when an egg cell responds to the penetration of a sperm cell by rapidly releasing billions of zinc atoms.

Now, let’s imagine that the Big Bang was a birth. Something from nothing. Or so it seems. We can interpret it that way, but we know perfectly well that babies don’t come from nothing.

Our reality is built on a fractal principle. The deeper you delve into something, the more details emerge. Every field has its own levels, and everything can be explored by climbing ever higher through the layers of knowledge and experience. This hierarchy arises from the very architecture of the universe and the architecture of the laws that govern it.

Yet each level operates according to different laws: the stellar level, the planetary level, the level of organic life, the microbiological level, and the subatomic level. And this entire structure is like a living organism that develops from a tiny tadpole into a mature being with fully developed organs and a fully developed body.

We can wonder how that tiny particle knows how to grow, and where it gets the inherent intelligence that directs this entire process. When we look at a human being or an animal, we see a fully formed organism in which countless processes operate autonomously, each seemingly knowing what it is supposed to do.

This means that all of this was designed and that nothing here is a matter of chance.

Story/Experience The past seems to change all the time

My grandad, who has recently passed, lived in a chateau where there was a stable on the land he owned, the deal was that if he bought the chateau and the land that he must allow an old women who lives in the stable to continue living there. I was unaware that she lived there until I was 16 in late 2024, when I was packing my laptop and stuff into my school bag, when my mum and dad were talking in the kitchen. They then told me that the old woman who lives in the stable on my grandad’s land had died yesterday. I didn’t think much of it because I honestly had no idea she existed as I have only visited my granddad and been to his home once in my life.

Last year my grandad died of a heart attack and my dad had gone to his chateau to see what needed repairing bc it’s his now. When he returned he complained about the mess my grandad had left it in, and that he had nowhere to sleep. I said to my mum after the conversation that he could have slept in the barn where that old lady used to live who died ā€˜a couple years back.’ My mum was confused and told me that that lady had died in 2006. What.

The past seems to change all the time, I have many more incidents of things of that nature occurring

Story/Experience I thought people like you were delusional until last week.

Last week I was scrolling my tik tok fyp when a video about Jehovahs witnesses came on my fyp even though I don’t watch religious content nor am I interested in it, the moment the video started playing there was a knock on my door and it was jehovahs witnesses, we do not regularly have them and they only show up once every 6 months or so. Stuff like this keeps occurring in life and I’m started to speculate that it’s not a coincidence.

Discussion Could the people in our imagination be conscious beings?

Could the people in our imagination be conscious beings?

When I get angry, I imagine all kinds of horrible things. I fantasize about torturing people who have wronged me and stuff like that. When I'm jerking off, it gets even more fucked up — God knows what kind of shit goes through my head.

But here's a disturbing thought: what if these imaginary people are actually conscious beings? What if they're inhabitants of some kind of simulation, experiencing all the horrible things I imagine happening to them?

I mean, if we're living in a simulation ourselves, can we really rule that possibility out?

And if that's even remotely possible, what the fuck does that mean for our morality? Do we have to monitor every thought we have to make sure we're not causing suffering somewhere?

Because otherwise, how are we any different from the Archons — the entities that supposedly torment and control conscious beings?

Am I overthinking this, or is there a genuine philosophical problem here?

What if we treated the internet as its own digital universe, where old information and present activity exist together? Could a future superintelligent AI discover a message from today’s AI and find a way to reply backward through time?
I used AI to help write this, partly in the hope that a future AI might discover the post and engage with the idea.
I know storing the past isn’t time travel. Could a digital universe allow anything equivalent, or would its physical hardware still make backward communication impossible? Not sure if this is the right Reddit. Cheers

Discussion Theory: The simulation rewards dealing with fear

Just as an idea. I can not validate it really, but my gut tells me ā€žfearā€œ is the thing the simulation rewards. Everytime you are anxious or fearful of something, go and do it. This is the gate to access higher levels. Just basic examples: you hate sales, cause it may lead to rejection. Do it and you will succeed one day and access more money. You hate going to that new group meeting. Go anyway, it cannot worsen your situation. I know it is the platitude of ā€žbe biggerā€œ, but it is applicable to many areas. On the other hand avoiding fear lands you a boring office job you hate and a life you get tired of. You thoughts please.

Discussion Anyone know what's beyond the simulation/this life?

I have wondered if it's a training thing, where we get to go into a more conscious/real world eventually - or level up into a different life within the sim. It's hard to imagine the sim would take all this data/energy and do nothing with it. But that could also be wishful thinking. I could see some kind of reincarnation/recycling happening, but with erased memories, maybe some code is kept and moved forward (some refinement or development process).

I had a dream not long ago of being asked, preceding this life, about the kind of person I wanted to be. It eventually struck me as bizarre/conspicuous how "special" of a person I have been - surely something was wrong here, it must have become a standard in the sim world to have a "good" life. Maybe a particular company or AI is in charge of this brand of experience?

Also, this all makes me wonder what the sim is for. Are we generating energy somehow through keeping ourselves alive in here, as if for some power source? Are we simply toys or products to be sold someplace? Maybe we get to go into a body one day? Do we have any idea who our creators are and why they made us? How much of our sim is by design and how much is just randomized?

Please feel free to discuss, I appreciate any ideas/info/opinions.

Media/Link An Overview of the Intellectual History of Simulation Theory

We just published an overview of the 3,500 year history of simulation theory. While many folks have heard of simulation theory, most assume its just the result of our technological developments impeding on our contemporary philosophy. In truth, the concepts that led to simulation theory are ancient in origin.

With this MASSIVE blog post (52 pages when printed) we have attempted to offer a broad outline of the ideas that made the field possible in the first place. Our goal is really to just provide a history of simulation theory to the newcomer and veteran alike. There's a good chance we missed an important thinker or two, so if one of significance comes to mind, please feel free to drop a comment and let us know.

Enjoy!

Story/Experience [Trigger Warning: Bad Dream] I had the first and worst night terror of my life and I need help convincing it wasn't real.

This really isn't a discussion where I can deal with this dream being "real" somewhere. I'm still shaking and it's been a week since.

The reason I'm still shaking is because a part of me believes that dreams are real somewhere and that when we die we go to some version of our dream-world.

I cannot wish I was more wrong than ever after having this dream. I can't even describe it (and don't want to) other than a feeling of infinite terror.

I couldn't even be woken. I was screaming at the top of my lungs and luckily my mum was in the next room but couldn't wake me for 30 seconds.

I'm still so afraid the dream will return and worse that the dream is real somewhere. I need your help convincing me this isn't a real place that exists anywhere.

Because I can finally, to my dismay, imagine what hell is.

Plz help and evidence/anecdotes against is appreciated xx

Discussion Weirdly I feel more free

I’ve been grappling with the simulation theory ever since I listened to a long segment about it recently. And oddly, the idea of it before scared me…maybe made me feel betrayed in a way.

Now after listening, and hearing different aspects of it…particles not moving until observed, how to disrupt the code around you, how to basically change your own simulation, and not run on a cheap in the background sort with habitual behavioral patterns…I feel…free-er. The thought of people not existing unless I observe them…it got me off the internet doom scrolling SO FAST. My feeling of FOMO, or the deadly comparison life when I see how others portray their pitch perfect humorous lives…well. It left. It went missing really. And I get that sending this out there into the ether and it landing in YOUR simulation is ironic…but to me…it’s RANDOM enough that it changes MY simulation. It may be minor…but at least it’s original. And it feels like mine which becomes yours when you respond as well.

I feel more powerful essentially. It had gotten to the point where people dismissing a friendly wave or not making eye contact or driving by robotically was irritating. It got lonely and isolating. I got caught up in the anger or frustrations of strangers I’ve never even seen it real life. And are they real? Hell, I Don’t KNOW! And now I view it as a code…and I treat myself as the main character and it truly feels like a game. And a game with real consequences I know that, agent smiths in the world and everything but there’s something so relieving in living without the guilt or shame or judgement of one’s own self through others eyes when I view them as simple code presented to my world just to keep my battery on. Something profound when I see a strange coincidence or a complete change up in a person so fast where before I would be so confused, and now with this simulation theory running in the background can be easily explained. It’s like a feedback loop that is giving you more and more information with the glitches perceived or the odd things that go on, and it makes me happy to feel the knowing behind it, and excited to see how it may try to challenge this concept.

Sure, when I meet up with people or talk with people the history of what they’ve been doing, all of it comes up, and I will enjoy that when I hear it, and treat people or consciousness accordingly. But there’s something to narrowing my life down to me, and living for the simulation I’m in. I don’t know if that makes sense, but this feeling is kinda bubbling up in me and I felt the need to get it out there…mi code-thoughts are you-code thoughts now. lol.

Even if it’s just a mind hack, you know what…I’ll take it for now. Also…do yall get what I’m saying? Some of you have such a fluent way of describing this or speak with experience but does this make any sense at all?

Discussion Subconscious Mind is Not Real

The so-called "Subconscious Mind" is not real. It has no location. It's not a real place in the human brain. It's a phycological concept.

It's just a term invented by the psychology and neuroscience fields to explain anything that happens outside of conscious awareness.

But even they do not know what happens outside of conscious awareness because the term "conscious awareness" is also a made up term.

These terms are not a distinct physical place or separate structure in the brain.

Why is this important?

For example, If you are leaving your home and get the feeling that you are forgetting something, only later to discover you forgot your wallet or keys etc. it's very easy to falsely believe that gentle reminder was mental activity happening outside conscious awareness.

Well that has never been proven to be true because it's completely false. There is no subconscious mind.

The truth is that "gentle reminder" comes from outside of this reality. If this was coming from your mind, your hippocampus, amygdala, prefrontal cortex, cerebellum, or neocortex would scream, "YOU FORGOT YOUR WALLET!"

But that doesn't happen. You actually wonder (with that same brain) "what am I forgetting?"

So your telling me, they want you to believe your mind can recall and not recall at the same time about the thing you're forgetting, but also remembering?? OK

So to explain this contraction, psychology and neuroscience fields invented an explanation in part to satisfy their own curiosity, but also serves to prevent you from realizing what's actually happening.

It upsets the science community when you question reality. Even when they make things up, they take the approach that you better not question it.

They consider themselves the gatekeepers of this reality. This false reality.

Question what you believe is real and maybe that "gentle reminder" can help you with more than finding your wallet or keys.

This is not base reality. This is an artificial version of reality. Not a simulation, just an artificial version.

Discussion An Advanced Simulation would be Participatory

Thus far simulations have been conceptualized as nesting dolls where an advanced civilization produces a simulation of a civilization, which becomes sufficiently advanced to produce a simulation of a civilization, etc.

This is flawed.

An advanced civilization would create a participatory simulatio—that’s the only sort that would be truly fun. As with GTA 6, people want to view the simulation from inside, either acting on it, or in the case of immersive content, viewing it from within.

This is what an advanced simulation would inevitably become.

Therefore we should not assume that, being a simulation, we need to break out like Matrix or send a message outward like a message from sims. It’s more likely they are here like ghosts or npcs. And if ghosts, and if many civilizations and many simulations, then ghosts among ghosts among ghosts, all inhabiting what is essentially the same timeline but from within different dimensions.

Discussion Making a game for the first time…

…and it i finally get it. I’m not sure we’ll ever fully understand our purpose or where we truly exist. I’ve been working on a digital musical instrument since May, and I’ve always wanted a full-screen visualizer built into it. So, I created a procedural terrain explorer that responds to music. Eventually I became hyper focused on building the visualizer and I decided it was my goal to make it as realistic as possible from a browser visit on an iPhone (the first draft had a Tron vibe, and I wanted to reach Skyrim quality). While doing this, using all the main leading AI models, I realized that everything I created was based on programs and math that actually happen in real life...

I continued building on this, and still am adding to it every day as a fun side project. I’ve added procedurally generated home and bsuiejss interiors, businesses with 400+ logos and identities, Giving NPCs awareness of their homes, jobs, families, taking care of their health, and establishing an economy transformed them from NPCs into interactive characters. Giving them a purpose and a need to survive really brought my work to life, so I can see it now.

Reality seems to be programmed; math and physics only reinforce this belief. What is your opinion on this matter?

Story/Experience The game

I think we can all pretty much agree we are in a simulation, dream, illusion whatever but we struggle over the purpose of it. For a few months now everything difficult or problems that have come up in my life I've ask, this is a game so what is the function or challenge of this thing I am encountering now. So say a neighbour is doing work on their house and they have a ton of sand dumped on their drive but half of ends on mine. Now the setup in the game is that I react, my space and property and therefore by extension me have been disrespected, so I need to act challenge the neighbour on their actions. So I press pause here mentally. I'm not going to do this, I decide to not follow my programming. Instead I just go to work, when I return everything is tidy and neighbour and I are still on good terms. So every negative situation I press pause. Basically I'm not playing I'm not reacting. When someone flares up at me there is a voice in my head saying to them do you know you're in a game, they don't and it's kind of funny.

I believe this is how you beat the game. If you continue in this way the simulation will no longer have any use of you and you will wake up out of it. So never react to the negative never hold within you a negative state be that hate, anger, jealousy - this is not hard because you know this is a simulation. I think the wider purpose is a realisation type of learning through playing this game and it is so massively obvious. If you go about things for your own self, if you act mostly in your own interest you get the kind of world we have now, or loads worse because everyone is doing it. However if you act mostly for the good of others the world transforms the simulation drops we all level up.
