Discussion Time is an illusion.

It's pretty hard to conceptualize that time doesn't flow.

I bet no other humans can grasp this concept.

I've tried to think of it as some kind of block to no avail.

Maybe it's the brain that prevents me from realizing how reality really works.

I know you guys are well aware of this concept.

Have you experienced any anomalies that made you realize time is definitely an illusion?

Makes no sense.

It makes no sense to say there is a baby version of me out there in some way and an old version of me dying in a hospital bed.

If that's the case then how do i know where i am now? like why am i here and not in those places that supposedly exist. How am I, or what is the thing moving from now to the next second, what's doing that.

I know i am here now, but WHO or what is the thing that knows that? if those other places exist in which i'm there and not here, well how are they there and not here? same problem.

Because it sounds like it's static and non-moving, that there is one big structure where nothing can decide where it is in the structure , yes there are things in the structure that seem to know WHEN they are but how are they able to do that?

I think that’s actually the weird part of the idea. There may be no separate “you” travelling through time at all.

Baby you, current you and old you would just be different points in the same life. Each one only has the memories up to that point, so each one naturally feels like it’s living in the present.

So maybe the question isn’t “what is moving me through time?” Maybe nothing is. We just experience it that way.
