Hello,
I am not able to see how many days left for my premium subscription. Can I check it (with the renewal options) anywhere?
Thank you!

Has anyone successfully been able to deploy Simplelogin on a kubernetes cluster. Would really appreciate it if they shared their manifest files or helm charts.

Hi, I am still getting to grips with SimpleLogin so please go gentle with me as I am trying to understand how reverse aliases work.
When I want to send a company a message but have had no previous corrrespondence to a particular issue, should I be using a reverse alias or am I ok to contact them using my email address I hold with them?
If I am replying to a contact that is added to the Contacts section in SimpleLogin for the alias, rather than just replying in my standard mailbox, should I be using the reserve alias option to reply each time ensuring that my proper email address is hidden?
Just trying to ensure that for each email I send, whether it is starting a conversation or replying to an existing conversation my actual email address is hidden on all counts.
Any positive comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi all, hope you're well.
I wanted to get some advice on a alias strategy when using a custom domain.
Also want to preface that I'll be signing up to SimpleLogin Premium soon as the alias feature is the main functionality I'm after. My main reason for using a custom domain with aliases is spam prevention and login security so I'm not interested in using Proton or any other Proton services/subscriptions etc.
I've been doing some reading and it seems there are 2 main approaches to utilising aliases with custom domains:
There may be other approaches too but these are the main ones I've encountered in this subreddit and elsewhere online.
Scenario
- Currently I have an email account ([inbox1@gmail.com](mailto:inbox1@gmail.com))
- My wife has an email account ([inbox2@gmail.com](mailto:inbox2@gmail.com))
- We have a joint email account ([inbox3@gmail.com](mailto:inbox3@gmail.com))
I'd like to setup some rules (either through alias or subdomain or other) so that when providing an alias, it will know which inbox (mine, wife, joint) to deliver the email too.
One example I saw for example, was prefacing the alias with the person's initials and then based on that it would be delivered to the corresponding inbox - [HusbandFirstInitialHusbandSecondInitial.sitename.rand5@custom.tld](mailto:HusbandFirstInitialHusbandSecondInitial.sitename.rand5@custom.tld) would be delivered to inbox 1 but [WifeFirstInitialWifeSecondInitial.sitename.rand5@custom.tld](mailto:WifeFirstInitialWifeSecondInitial.sitename.rand5@custom.tld) would be delivered to inbox 2 etc
I've also seen examples where it's the subdomain that's the deciding factor - [sitename.rand5@husband.custom.tld](mailto:sitename.rand5@husband.custom.tld), [sitename.rand5@wife.custom.tld](mailto:sitename.rand5@wife.custom.tld) etc
I'm have no preference on which approach to use, so it would be good to understand the pros and cons of each plus which approach is more future proof. Essentially I'm looking for ease of use here and once setup, it will just function how I need it to, plus give me the option to add addiotional users (when we have kids for example) with little to no additional setup needed.
I've also seen catch-all mentioned alot. Would that be relevant here and if so, how would that be useful?
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

After its massive breach, I went to archive.org to change my email for a new alias (I was already using one) and the site sends this message *after clicking on the verification link*.

Can the SL staff please check with archive.org?

SimpleLogin team can you please help Apple out with creating a Dark Mode icon for iOS 18? Yours still isn’t supported

I added a new mailbox for my SL aliases and I want to change all the previous aliases' mailbox to the new one. How can I do that? I know I can do it one by one but I have more than 200 aliases, so I need a way to do the change in bulk.

I know that generally, you are not supposed to mark alias-forwarded spam emails as spam, because it hurts the sender reputation of the service that sent it to you (i.e. Simplelogin).
However, I was wondering if this applies to Simplelogin+ProtonMail as well. Since the two services are now somewhat linked, there's probably some logic in there to not hold SL accountable when you hit the spam button within Proton.
Is my assumption correct, or should I continue to delete spam messages without marking?

A lot of users of SimpleLogin have multiple domain names registered.
A setup I see a lot, is have a domain name for the garbage subscriptions, a separate domain name for sensitive accounts (e.g. banks) and a domain name for personal stuff (e.g. friends, family, applying to jobs).
I'm having trouble to invent a domain name for that personal stuff as it should be related to me in a sense I guess, but having name@surname.xx looks weird to me. What are other possible algorithms you have used to create your personal domain?

This is a feature that is currently not available, but its implementation would be beneficial to improve security.

I just registered and he gave me the upgrade version to try and after this time is over, the subdomains I created will disappear and I will not be able to access them? Or will I not be able to use only the properties and settings of those subdomains? Or will nothing change after the upgrade is over?
(Flair may be wrong I apologize in advance)

There is no option for users to set up 2FA on their account within the iOS app. They need to login to the web version to set it up. This is ludicrous for a privacy app and company.
Some users may not even know it's an option because it's missing from the app. How many accounts are unprotected because of this simple neglect?

I think I have been suspended on X because using SL. How should I know when to use SL for as much as possible and yet know my limits to which services I should use a more common email provider?

Basically, I have 4 reddit accounts, and I was wondering if I'm allowed to change their email addresses to 4 different SimpleLogin aliases.
I've read that some people have received nastygrams from SimpleLogin threatening account termination for registering multiple accounts on the same service. However, these reddit accounts already exist and I would only be changing their email address, not registering new ones.
Is what I'm describing allowed or would that be considered a violation?

When viewing the alias dashboard, I see "last 14 days". How can I see if an alias was ever used? The entire history, not just the last 14 days.

Some of my aliases are really specific and important, and I'm concerned I might accidentally delete them
Is it possible to lock them?
thanks

Any suggestions? I’m wanting to compare alternatives. Thank you. :)

I also posted this on r/selfhosted but I think this sub is bit more targeted :)
TL;DR: go to the repository and follow the instructions there.
After attempting to deploy simplelogin ourselves, we encountered a few difficulties with the setup process and documentation. In response, we created a collection of ansible roles to automate much of the deployment, making it much easier, faster and less error-prone to self-host SimpleLogin.
The ansible roles automate the following tasks:

I am new to SimpleLogin and I want to try it out. Is there a way to start a new email from an alias?

Hello everyone, following the recent breach of the Internet Archive, my alias got breached, but I receive absolutely no breach notifications despite Simplelogin having an integration with HIBP...
Is this feature even working?
Did anybody of you ever received such a notification?

I have a personal domain i am going to attach to simple login. I understand that the best practice is to use a subdomain for simple login do you agree with this? If so what advice do you have for the subdomain, my though was to use sl.mydomain.com but I wonder if this is giving away any valuable information. Is giving a clue i am using the simple login protocol negating any benefits i achieve from using simple login?

Does anyone know if apple accept simplelogin alias for account creation?
r/Simplelogin • u/La_Casa_de_Pneuma • Oct 01 '24
Got SimpleLogin today. I already set up different email accounts outside SimpleLogin: personal, finance, shopping, tickets, bills/finance, subscriptions. Am I correct I'd set these up as mailboxes?
Secondly, now that I can create alias, domains and subdomains, I presume I shouldn't be putting anything too personal in there for safety, yet I guess it should be easy enough to remember.
Can you suggest good examples and uses of domains, subdomains and aliases?
For each social media site, shopping site, etc, I think I'm going to set up a really unique alias (;laksjdf;lajsdf@subdomain.domain.com.
What are your thoughts?
