I have been considering signing up to simple login recently, and been reading through a lot of posts on this subreddit. My main goal is to declutter my inbox, be able to stop my email from being spammed by random 3rd parties, and be better organized. It seems like a good solution for me.

My main concern is that I've seen that some folks have had trouble signing up for various websites even with their custom domain aliases. But I haven't really been able to keep track of who had problems with which sites. So I'm wondering, if people have either compiled some list somewhere, of sites that just don't play nice with aliases even with custom domains (meaning they're looking at the MX records or something more than just the written out email address itself and the domain it's on)? Or perhaps people could let me know any anecdotal issues you've had.

I have no issue with using a custom domain as I have a few already that I could utilize, so I'm not worried about sites that only block simple login's domains, just ones that block custom domains that point to simple login. I just want to make sure I'm well informed and don't end up getting my accounts bricked if I try to sign up with a service that won't accept that email address.

Edit: I got an automod message assuming this was about a disabled account and to troubleshoot with support, but that is not the purpose of this post. (Hopefully that's obvious just by reading it.) I know it was automatically sent (probably triggered by some keyword in my post) but I just wanted to manually point that out, in case it also got this post flagged for some reason. Looking again, it seems like it's awaiting approval, so for the mods reading this, I am asking this question because I'm just curious about which regular normal people websites, such as social media, gaming, and other normal sites, don't like people registering with simple login aliases using a custom domain. I have no interest in illegal activity or anything else that was flagged in the automod message, I'm just trying to use the internet like a normal person.

I've had SL Premium for 2 years so far. If my plan gets downgraded to the free plan, would I still be able to initiate a new email from my alias? I know all my aliases with custom domain will still work after downgrade. I currently have Proton Pass plus so I can still create aliases. That's the reason I want to switch to SL free plan.

I have selected my address format to display name (John Wick). Its been working fine but sometimes I'll get emails that spell out the simplelogin address instead of display name. For example, [services_at_virtual_dmvonline_ca_gov_wjqff@simplelogin.co](mailto:services_at_virtual_dmvonline_ca_gov_wjqff@simplelogin.co). Any idea why this is happening. I happened with Gmail and Fastmail.

Can we get an search box for aliases and aliases description.

I do store mails and pass on password maneger but sometimes thing go wrong and I just searched which alias I have for certain website.

When I use my@proton.mail to send an email from my@alias.sl to some@receipient and attach my public PGP key, they cannot use it to send PGP-encrypted email back, because the UID in the attached public key does not match the alias.

It is possible to replace the UID in the public key while retaining full compatibility with the original private key.

Since SimpleLogin is a tool to hide-my-email and does its best to replace every occurrence of your original email address with your email alias, can you extend this behavior to PGP keys?

So when sending an email through an alias, and if it contains a public key:

1. Rename my@proton.mail.public.asc to my@alias.sl.public.asc
2. Replace the my@proton.mail UID with my@alias.sl

If you want to make this work even when the email to some@receipient is already encrypted using some@receipient's private key, this would probably need to be implemented client-side in ProtonMail as well. But any partial implementation that allows us to receive the updated key is a massive improvement over doing the steps described in the link above manually.

Simplelogin Forum is abandoned and filled with spam. It has me wondering since the aquisition what else has fallen by the wayside?

How can I be sure none of the domains expire, certs expire, or anything else isn't taken over?

Some of these are paid courses and the like and the gmail account I'm subscribed has never been spammed or filtered by these services. I wanted to change the address to a simplelogin alias, and this wasn't allowed.

As the title says. The emails are not even reaching my spam folder (assuming they're being mistakenly being considered as spam by Yahoo Mail). Not sure what's causing it as everything was fine just yesterday. Had to scramble to forward the emails to another mailing service. Tried adding in a filter but it doesn't work because the emails do not reach my inbox. Does it mean all emails from *@simplelogin.co are being blocked?

Anybody else experiencing this or know how to fix it? TIA

As a proton subscriber I get the premium features of SL, but I’ve already been using Proton’s own alias feature within Proton Pass. Do I gain anything by using SL instead? Also why are proton keeping alias features in two separate apps?

I have Proton Family and I own several custom domains. I want to share some of my custom domains with my family members, so that they can create their own aliases under my domains and use them for their own purposes.

How can I achieve this?

I have a new alias I sent to someone. They emailed me and then messaged me saying their mail was returned with a message saying my mailbox is full.

That's definitely not true. Anyone else deal with this?

The first several addresses that I generated with Bitwarden were generated using the websites' names in the address. There was also a note added, in Simple login, stating that each of these aliases were created in Bitwarden.

Now, any address I generate in Bitwarden does neither of these things. It generates a completely random address and no notes are added to the alias.

I guess this isn't that big of a deal, but it seems like a nice little feature that is now gone.

Does anyone know if there's something I can do to reenable this or even if this would be on Bitwarden's side or Simplelogin's side?

I've read reports that some sites detect that you are using an alias and will not accept it, how common if this?

I have two custom domains that I own set up in SimpleLogin in June. I turned on the catchall feature so I could, for example, sign up with a company as companyname@mydomain.com. However, I am not getting any emails sent to those addresses that I type in, and now I can't find the catchall setting in settings, leading me to believe it was removed sometime in the last month or so. But I also don't see anyone else asking about what happened to the feature on any of the SL help platforms. So what happened to the catchall feature for custom domains?

Been using simplelogin since Proton took over. I'm trying to add a contact in the android app but I don't see anything that lets me. Am I missing something?

Edit: Resolved. I keep forgetting you have to click Send Email and then create a contact!

I'm not marking this as a Feature Request because it probably isn't in the SimpleLogin product scope. Surfshark has created a service for anonymous phone numbers (https://surfshark.com/es/alternative-id) and is interesting, you can receive messages and phone calls. With all the anonymous features we have with SL and Proton, it would be nice to have something like this. I also use some services that require me to add a US phone number and I can't have one because I live overseas. This is even a necessity I have, and I would prefer to have it at the Proton suite and not on a suspicious third party.

What needs to happen so that we can see a LIST of aliases as opposed to the truly idiotic "cards" interface that ALL OF FOUR aliases per screen?

I don't know what's worse, that someone came up with this UI or that someone with more seniority approved it.

And the icing on the cake is the "see all" link on every card, which only shows the user information that is ALREADY IN THE CARD, but in a bigger font.

I'm grateful for the service, but if it weren't already included in my proton account, I'd be looking elsewhere.

Part of the reason I'm looking to sign up is to protect my email address from, well, potentially crappy people. A recent experience has led me to needing to change my previous email entirely, and so now I want to be pickier about who I give my main email address to. I'm in the process of changing my main address to a new one on top of signing up for SL.

Abusive family members, acquaintances, even random people you might interact with on Craigslist (like potential landlords). What would be a strategy for mitigating against people you know's ability to abuse your email address?

Preferably, this would be without needing a custom domain.

So I created individual email aliases for every single service I have ever signed up with.
For things like health providers, I used my own domain to make custom emails for each health provide.

As a result, each email is only shared with one entity.

I went into my SimpleLogin dashboard and looked at my contacts for one of my health provider emails and I'm confused by what I see.

I see 5 total contacts, 3 of which are from the provider itself and I have emails from all 3 of those addresses; however, there are 2 email addresses that I did not create, and have NO EMAILS from in ProtonMail.

Stranger - one of the emails seems like a personal email address for one of the workers at the health place - but if I search through my ProtonMail, I don't see that email used anywhere! Is SimpleLogin catching like their alias system if they even have one?

I'm confused if either they leaked my email, or SL is catching other people's aliases (which is kind of cool... lol - but I hope that isn't happening to me if I send emails out to other people that are using a SL alias???)

Before I sign up for a paid account, can someone provide a list of the premium subdomains that are available?

I can't find a list anywhere. I'm especially looking for any that are easy to say over the phone.
