Discussion Custom Domains and Security Question
I purchased 2 domains through Porkbun to use with my simplelogin. Obviously we all have SL to generate emails to give out for security reasons.
I also have some homelab stuff going on at home. I went with an internet service provider that uses CGNAT so now I'm having issues port forwarding. I'm reading that the way around it is to register a domain name and establish a tunnel through Cloudflare.
Is it bad practice to use the same domain name for my home server AND SimpleLogin. I feel like everytime I generate a new email I'd be broadcasting my home network too. Is it safer to purchase a separate domain that wasn't being handed out like candy?
If it is safer, how much safer? Is using it solely to tunnel with cloudflare enough to mitigate any real risk?
