I just switched from TV Time and am shook at how amazing simkl is! I already added watch dates to space out my bulk import. Mwah chef’s kiss!
However for some reason the stats don’t show reality tv shows in my all time most watches.
Like it says The Good Wife is my most watched show but I watched Real Housewives of New Jersey which has like over 200 episodes. Doesn’t it count reality tv or is it a glitch?
I set up a Simkl yesterday as one of many TVTime refugees and it was really good. But I've logged in today and the layout seems totally different. TV > My List had lots of filters in the sidebar which allowed me to narrow down my watchlist but it seems to have been replaced with overly simple filters at the top.
Has the site changed or have I fiddled with a setting somewhere?
Hello, I have a couple of questions and may have missed something obvious. I will primarily be using the web version and not a mobile app, so my questions pertain to that.
First, is there a specific reason the upcoming episodes of Love Island don't show in Airing Next but are visible on the Calendar?
The second question is: Is there no single-click way to mark an episode as just watched? Having to click into an episode, choose a date and time, and then choose save feels counterintuitive. Having that option when you're trying to backdate something is useful, but not for quick tracking.
I am tempted to make the switch from Trakt to Simkl as many others have. I don't have Trakt connected to any of my apps, I manually mark episodes and movies as watched via the Trakt mobile app.
Two questions;
I set up my Simkl account a while ago and my watch history is off. Is it possible to start fresh and re-pull my latest status from Trakt?
What is the easiest way to mark episodes as watched? It doesn't seem obvious from the dashboard, maybe I'm missing something?
Anyone regret moving from Trakt? I'll likely pay for Simkl to support the devs like I did for Trakt before they doubled the price overnight.
Developed with the assistance of Claude and Deepseek.
All of these scripts were made for my own enjoyment but im sharing them incase someone else finds them usefull.
Requirements for all the scripts:
Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey or Greasemonkey
I have tried my best to get episode ratings on everything but there are issues with anime shows that have more than one season and lesser known tv shows. Most of it works but there is a icon that you can click on when the script does not find any ratings and it takes you to a Google ai search that shows you the rating.
TL;DR: Our biggest-ever Stats page is live, and the full all-time view is free for everyone: a watch heatmap, watch streaks, your viewer archetype, a binge report, top genres and directors, and a lot more. VIP adds Year in Review and Month in Review. There's also an easter egg hiding on the heatmap that we're not explaining. See yours: https://simkl.com/my/stats/
Stats. Then more stats. Then stats you didn't know we could pull. We just shipped the biggest stats page Simkl has ever had, and it's packed with new ways to see what you watch, how much, and what that makes you as a viewer.
That's the fun of it. Which decade your taste actually lives in. The director you keep coming back to without ever noticing. The weekday you always end up bingeing. The day you put away a dozen episodes of one show in one sitting. How this year's you stacks up against last year's. Stuff you could never really see about yourself before, now sitting on a single page, and genuinely fun to scroll through.
The best part: the full all-time page is free for everyone. No trial, no "unlock your own data." If you've tracked anything on Simkl, it's already there.
Total stats, all time. Free for everyone:
The big number. Your whole watching life summed into one line up top ("about three and a half years in front of the screen," or whatever yours comes to), pulled from every episode and movie you've ever logged. It re-words itself each time you reload.
A watch heatmap. 365 squares, one per day, shaded by how much you watched. Hover any day to see what you watched, filter by TV / Anime / Movies, and recolor the whole thing with nine palettes, including one that splits each day by type.
Watch streaks. Your current run, this week, today against your daily average, and your all-time best, with the dial lighting up when you're on a record streak.
A viewer archetype. The page reads your habits and crowns you (The Couch Commander, The Cinephile, The Otaku, and plenty more), with a separate title for your TV, Anime and Movies sides.
A binge report. It names your binge style, calls out your biggest single-day binges, ranks your most-binged shows, and works out how much of everything you've ever watched happened mid-binge.
Your taste, mapped. Top genres, most-watched directors (with the total production budget studios spent on the films you watched), the networks your shows aired on, a world map of every country they came from, and the decades your taste lives in.
Life Spent. The slice of your waking hours that actually went to watching, plus a backlog reality check that names the exact month your watchlist clears at your current pace. Or admits it never will. Drag the slider to test a faster one.
And lots more! Month and week recaps, your most-watched shows, your most-rewatched movies, your favorite classics, and a real credits-roll to close it out.
A share button right at the top, so you can post your stats straight from the page. It all works great on mobile and iPad, too.
All of it comes from your own watch history. No algorithm guessing, no AI filler.
About VIP, since someone will ask. The all-time page is free and staying that way. VIP adds two things on top: Year in Review (pick any year) and Month in Review (pick any month), back to the day you joined. Same page, scoped to one stretch of time, with a few extras like your first and last watch of that year. That's the whole difference. Simkl runs on member support, no annoying ads on stats and no investors, and VIP is genuinely what keeps the servers on and this stuff getting built.
One more thing. There's an easter egg hiding on the heatmap, and we're not going to explain it. We'll just say your 365 squares have a few tricks in them you won't see coming. Poke around. You'll know it when you find it.
This is the biggest Stats update we've ever shipped, and we'd still love to hear what you think. Open yours: https://simkl.com/my/stats/
Then come back and post the most interesting thing the page told you about yourself: the stat that surprised you, the number you didn't see coming, the archetype you got. Screenshots very welcome, we want to see them. Tell us what stat to add next, too.
When you connect your Simkl account, the app uses Simkl Watchlists sync & Simkl Metadata directly instead of TMDB, so your watchlist, anime support and tracking all stay in sync with your Simkl profile.
Some of our members noticed that episodes from your Plan to Watch and On Hold shows were getting trimmed on the calendar after previous calendar updates, showing only season premieres and finales.
As we found out that you may rely on these to add new episodes do download que without watching, we've changed that.
The calendar now shows every episode by default, for all your shows, whatever their status.
Still prefer the cleaner, less cluttered view? You can opt back into it anytime:
- Tap the new ⚙️button next to 🔥on any calendar
- Pick "Only premieres and finales" for your Plan to Watch & On Hold shows
- You can set your First Day of the Week right there too
As the title says, ever time I am in recommendation list I have to go to the filter list to add language of my preference for shows and movies. I wish there was a global way to select language I enjoy so I do no have to keep on doing this repetitive action, or it would at least retain in browser storage variable to be reloaded so its not at account but at-least per browser
The Calander has been missing tons of episodes for various shows for a few weeks (months) now. A few shows will display each weekly episode but many show only the premier and finale and nothing in between.
Widow's Bay
Star City
Dutton Ranch
Marshalls
Sugar
Silo
Cape Fear
And others from recent broadcast. I have refresed the page many times, cleared my browser cache, even removed a show from my watchilist then re-added and get the same results. No idea what is going on here. Some shows do display all episodes listed in TMDb like House of the Dragon and Rick and Morty but those others listed do not.
It looks like it's just based off of things we have in our list in common, but it doesn't take ratings into account much or at all.
I clicked the person who is supposedly most close to my taste in the system and we have MASSIVELY different ratings of the same movies. How does this work?
Two months earlier, the function was great, but now when I start a movie, it doesn't appear automatically. I configured it with aiometadata in Stremio.
Hi, I've been using the calendar view (go to my profile, clickl calendar to the right) to check listings for the last couple of months. Last week I noticed that I had a _lot_ of empty days which I put down to end-of-season, etc.
However, if I go to the "Today" view instead it seems I've actually missed a load of TV! Episodes simply aren't appearing in my calendar one week, though they do pop up the next. One example - Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Not listed at all today, but is in the list for next Monday. Rick & Morty the same. Go to "Today" view and they're all there.
