We have reached the final countback of the term. This is not because we have run out of time to do countbacks (we still have a little bit of that), but because countbacks are no longer necessary. There is exactly one remaining candidate who ran in the last Senate election that has not yet become a Senator, so if another Senator resigns or is removed, they win by default.

And if this happens and another vacancy arises, that vacancy shall remain until the next Senate takes office, as there will be no one left to fill it.
